With the Fourth of July Holiday coming up Balladeer’s Blog will be making some seasonal posts, like this one, covering often-overlooked elements of America’s war for independence from Great Britain.
FIRST BATTLE OF MACHIAS – This battle took place June 11th and 12th of 1775, less than two full months after the Battles of Lexington & Concord kicked off our Revolutionary War. At this point in the 1700s Maine was still technically a Department of Massachusetts, which is why Maine is not listed as one of the original 13 colonies despite all the action that took place there.
With British forces under siege in Boston, Loyalist sellout Ichabod Jones contracted with the Brits to supply their troops there. A few of Jones’ ships plus the British war sloop Margaretta arrived in Machias, ME on June 2nd.
Initially the townspeople of Machias voted against doing business with Ichabod Jones since he intended to provide supplies for Redcoats in Boston. The Margaretta, commanded by James Moore, pulled to within bombardment distance of Machias, frightening just enough citizens to change their votes in favor of trade with Jones and his merchant ships.

Democrats, the party of slavery, the Ku Klux Klan, Jim Crow and the Dred Scott Decision, notoriously HATE independent-minded African-Americans who defy those Democrats. The privileged white-bread leadership of the Democrats continues to act like it owns people of color like they did on their plantations in the south long ago. (No Republicans owned plantations, or I’d be happy to say so since Balladeer’s Blog criticizes both political parties.) 
Burgess Owens pointed out what many have long stated: that the Democrat Party is the only wildly pro-slavery institution left with continuity all the way back to the slavery era. Therefore the Democrat Party organization should pay reparations. Or, as I point out, at least SHOW THE DECENCY TO CHANGE THEIR PARTY’S NAME since they push to eliminate all reminders of the Confederacy and the earlier years of their party’s beloved slavery. 
Coleman Hughes, who reminded booing racist Democrats that he is himself a Democrat, also defied the Democrat Party on reparations. He also debunked the Democrats’ frequently-stated lie that the U.S. government never apologized for slavery and Jim Crow, noting that both the House and the Senate have previously issued those apologies. 
Others weighed in on social media, like Larry Elder with this:
“My students are ‘woke’ and are overwhelmingly against illegal immigration after taking my class.” 
Journalist and strong female role model Kelli Ballard courageously continues to compile as comprehensive as possible a breakdown of the additional crimes committed by people in the country illegally. 
Anti-Trump CNBC’s recent survey results further verify the shift that has gone on in America. Because de facto Third Party President Donald Trump has successfully championed the working class and the poor, America’s bloated rich pigs and Robber Barons hate him. Joe Biden represents a return to “Business as usual, with America’s hopelessly corrupt government functioning EXCLUSIVELY for the wealthy,” so naturally the abusive rich, which Democrats used to at least PRETEND to oppose, prefer him to Trump, who actually fights the abusive rich on our behalf. 
Anti-Trump loons hate the president so much that they have been hyping this poll as if it’s a negative for Trump in the eyes of his supporters. Uh. No. It’s confirmation of whose side President Trump is on. If needlessly wealthy trash preferred him then it would prove he had sold out – like Bernie Sanders sold out long ago. 
Anti-Trump loons seem determined to make Donald Trump a martyr of JFK proportions. He has done an incredible job saving America’s economy for ALL social levels, not just the wealthy, like the Democrats and Republicans usually do. 
So far there’s been nothing remotely resembling evidence, just the sour grapes of privileged Democrats and Republicans who are reminded every day that they are nothing but bought and paid-for whores doing the bidding of the bloated rich pigs that they SHOULD have been fighting, like President Trump is doing. 
Not that our folk figure’s targets don’t deserve to be opposed. This Fool Killer battles the abomination of Child Labor, the profit-mongers who sponsor it AND the Judges who perpetuate it through their decisions striking down attempts to eliminate the ugly practice. 
Given the Clown Car full of Democrat candidates trying to outdo each other at hate-filled and snobbish remarks about the working class and the poor the logistics for the upcoming Presidential Debates have been particularly challenging. 
Balladeer’s Blog remains the only site on the web that equally criticizes both Democrats and Republicans. This week even Bill Maher reminded the nation that Hillary Clinton is a criminal who obstructed justice. Plus Democrats were loudly proclaiming that what Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama did by seeking foreign dirt on Donald Trump was disgusting. Seriously. All they talked about for half the week was how utterly rank it is to use overseas dirt-diggers against one’s domestic political opponents. Y’know?
