Recently Balladeer’s Blog completed its examination of Don McGregor’s 1973-1975 Black Panther story Panther’s Rage. I’m no comic book expert but in my opinion Panther’s Rage surpasses much of the work done by the overrated and overpraised Alan Moore.
As always, since I’m neither a liberal nor a conservative I was surprised by some of the intense political reactions to my reviewing this Black Panther story. Many people who call themselves conservatives seem to think this Marvel Comics character has some connection to the hate group called the Black Panthers.
Actually this figure came BEFORE the Black Panthers. In fact Marvel flirted with changing the character’s name a few times – once to just simply “the Panther” and once to “the Black Leopard” – to keep their character separated from the racist hate group.
“Memes … memes, everywhere.”
On the other side many people who call themselves liberals huffed and puffed indignantly that I was covering a 13-part story written by (GASP) a white guy about a black character! Hey, a white guy even CREATED the character. I wonder if that invalidates the Black Panther entirely in their narrow minds.

Balladeer’s Blog often points out that Barack Obama and George W Bush were garbage, but de facto Third Party President Donald Trump is NOT garbage, even if only because he’s not a career politician. 
It’s absurd the way the Trump-haters STILL try to pretend they’re “the resistance” (LMFAO). Uh. Yeah. “Rebels for the status quo and all the current power-holders and oppressors” is what Trump-haters are. 
TEZCATLIPOCA – The god of sorcery and human sacrifice as well as the patron deity of thieves and other evildoers. Tezcatlipoca was originally also a war god but his martial attributes were later taken over by Huitzilopochtli. Many myths about Tezcatlipoca involve his conflicts with the wind and culture god Quetzelcoatl, conflicts that even caused the destruction of two of the previous worlds. 
It’s Alive from 1974 is a psychotronic classic. It Lives Again from 1978 features Frederic Forrest, the “I’m a saucier” guy in his second-worst onscreen relationship – the worst was with Teri Garr in One From the Heart. It’s Alive III: Island of the Alive is fairly lame but at least it has Michael Moriarty. 
“WHO KNOWS ONLY THEIR OWN GENERATION REMAINS ALWAYS A CHILD.” – That quote from George Norlin has multiple layers of meaning but to me it always brings to mind those self-infatuated fools from the 1960s generation who remain perpetual children.
