PART TWO
Strange Tales #179 (April 1975)
Title: DEATH SHIP
Synopsis: The previous chapter ended with Adam Warlock being smacked around by the superior power of the Magus, the god worshipped by the interstellar Universal Church of Truth. It developed that the Magus could not kill Adam because, somehow, Warlock and the Magus were actually one and the same being. Killing Warlock would be the same as killing himself.
Adam (powerful enough to fly through space under his own power at faster than light speeds) set off for the faraway galaxy that is the seat of power of the thousand worlds ruled by the Universal Church of Truth. That lies roughly 12 galaxies away from the Milky Way so this long, long journey is taking Warlock into parts of space never before depicted in the Marvel Comics universe of the time.
Our hero is determined to free the worlds enslaved by the Magus, destroy his “Church” and slay the Magus himself … even if it means that he (Adam) will die as well.
After his clash with Warlock last time around the Magus has alerted his empire’s starships to be on the lookout for any sign of our hero. The first vessel to come across Adam is the spaceship called The Great Divide, commanded by the blue-skinned Captain Autolycus of the Black Knights of the Church (more on them shortly).
Warlock can tell the ship is a Church craft because of the insignia on its hull: the main church symbol (the high-tech cross-ankh that Adam was crucified on back on Counter-Earth) as well as cocoons, lightning bolts and assorted bee-hives. All of them connected to Warlock’s strange existence thus far and therefore tantalizing reminders that he and the Magus are one and the same being somehow.
Adam is powerful enough to single-handedly take on an entire starship and the battle is on. Unfortunately our hero loses the dogfight, is knocked out by blasts from the spacecraft and is hauled in as a prisoner. Continue reading
The proverbial wailing and gnashing of teeth on the part of those anti-Trump fascists who actually believed the Russian Collusion fantasy has been hilarious! Yesterday and today have provided memes aplenty from the comedy gold produced by the slobbering psychopaths who were suckered in by accused suborner of perjury Robert Mueller.
FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 3 seeds – the VINCENNES UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS – faced the 2nd seeded SOUTH PLAINS COLLEGE TEXANS. The Trailblazers put the Texans on Upset Alert by Halftime with their 38-31 advantage. After the break Vincennes University left South Plains College further and further behind, ultimately defeating them by a final tally of 85-67. Kevin Osawe’s 22 points led the Trailblazers.
SECOND SEMIFINAL – In this game the 8th seeded RANGER COLLEGE RANGERS took the court against the 4 seeds – the COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS. The Rangers provided another Upset, leading the Red Ravens 38-30 at the Half before polishing them off 84-61. Brayan Au led Ranger College with his 27 points.
FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 2 seeds – the JOHNSON COUNTY COLLEGE CAVALIERS – found themselves facing the 14th seeded CECIL COLLEGE SEAHAWKS. The Cavaliers were chasing the Seahawks 29-28 at the end of a defense-oriented opening Half. From there Johnson County College came back to force Overtime with a 68-68 tie. In the extra session the Cavaliers emerged with an 81-78 victory. Twenty three points from General Williams led Johnson County College.
FINAL FOUR: SECOND BERTH – In this game the 4th seeded COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS did battle with the 5 seeds – the NORTH CENTRAL MISSOURI PIRATES. A 32-31 Halftime edge for the Pirates wound up as a 60-60 tie to end Regulation. In Overtime the Red Ravens emerged with a 67-66 triumph. Keon Queen led Coffeyville with a Double Double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
READER QUESTION: What’s your opinion of the latest John McCain/ Trump bit?
To give you an idea of how strongly I feel: I can promise you that no matter how much I despise George W Bush and Barack Obama I will NOT describe them in the same hostile way I describe John McCain. Especially after they’re dead. McCain doesn’t deserve any courtesy or consideration. Yes, that’s how low I consider McCain.
In my opinion John McCain embodied the stereotype of the racist, warmongering Republican rich pig. But I found him far more repulsive because he would often showboat with some token criticism of his colleagues to get positive pub from Democrat media outlets, then vote with the other Repubs anyway! It’s not “being a maverick” to act like “Hey, those other Republicans are all a bunch of racists and warmongers but not me” and then largely vote for all the policies that those “racists and warmongers” are voting for anyway.
The reason President Trump once again mentioned what filth McCain was is because even more evidence has come out linking McCain to the pack of bizarre lies known as the Golden Showers Dossier. So, no matter what you think of the Orange One this is not a case of a sitting president gratuitously dumping on a dead Senator. He’s dumping on a Senator involved in publicizing such a low form of gossip-mongering that even the fascist J Edgar Hoover might have balked at doing it.
DAY ONE, GAME ONE – The LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) clashed with the WILLIAM JESSUP UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. The Pilots were chasing the Warriors 32-29 at Halftime but outscored them 54-33 after the break for an 83-65 comeback win. LSU-Shreveport was led by Jeff Garrett with his Double Double of 20 points and 13 rebounds.
DAY ONE, GAME TWO – In this game the ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM took on the WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS (should be the Flying W’s). The Firestorm held a slight 41-40 edge at the Half then left the Pioneers a bit further behind to defeat them 81-73. Callum Lawson led the way for Arizona Christian University with a Double Double of 23 points and 11 rebounds.
DAY ONE, GAME THREE – The WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN faced the VANGUARD UNIVERSITY LIONS. The defenses dominated in the opening Half, which ended with the Statesmen clinging to a 29-28 lead. After the break William Penn U got some more separation from the Lions for a 69-53 victory. Sixteen points from Abrian Edwards led the way for the Statesmen.

Twenty-seven points from Alex Stein led the Screaming Eagles.
ELITE EIGHT: THIRD BERTH – Another remaining 1 seed – the NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY SHARKS – went up against the 3rd seeded LYNN UNIVERSITY FIGHTING KNIGHTS. Ever wonder where people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez get the irrational gibberish they spout? Thank a teacher! (And remember, AOC has a degree from Boston University … a degree in economics. LMAO) Here’s another look at the way Democrats have distorted the educational system into a one-party practice in bias and irrational thought.
Professor Sam Abrams at Sarah Lawrence College is accused of a Thought Crime because he spoke out in support of ideological diversity. DOZENS of Democrats in the faculty joined with students in demanding that Abrams be fired for this modest suggestion. (Hey, Democrats are such criminals they consider getting people fired to be “making their bones.”)
