CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Overtime was needed before a victor could be determined in the NAIA title game last night as the 5th seeded GRACELAND UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS took on the 4 seeds – the LSU-ALEXANDRIA GENERALS.
The 1st Half ended with the Yellow Jackets on top of the Generals 36-28. After the break Graceland University put up exactly 36 points again while LSU-Alexandria scored 44 to end Regulation in a 72-72 tie. Continue reading

I waited several days to make sure this wasn’t just an Onion-style joke, but no, it’s real. Another Democrat has brought the crazy like no one else can. Democrat Trayon White of the D.C Council – and who should be called “Snow” White from now on in honor of this incredibly stupid incident – complained about last Friday’s brief snowfall by posting a video attributing weather and climate control technology to the Rothschilds.
(For centuries the Rothschilds have been the go-to Jewish family for anti-Semitic nutjobs and their conspiracy theories.)
“Snow” White went on and on:
“Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man. Y’all better pay attention to this climate control, man, this climate manipulation,” he says. “And D.C. keep talking about, ‘We a resilient city.’ And that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.”
Uh. Yeah. White eventually took the insane video down. In all, this was ANOTHER demonstration of why we Americans despise so many of our politicians. White and other unhinged politicians can often be found giving finger-wagging lectures to the voting public.
In the case of Democrats those lectures are often about “science” and “tolerance.” Yep. The kind of tolerance and respect for science shown by wacko Democrats who think wealthy Jews control the weather so they can “own the cities, man.” Continue reading

JUNGLE ACTION Volume 2, Number 15 (May 1975)
X. THORNS IN THE FLESH, THORNS IN THE MIND
Synopsis: As this chapter of Panther’s Rage begins, we are in the Forest of Thorns, where the Black Panther has followed Killmonger, his army and his long train of caged dinosaurs which they captured in Serpent Valley. T’Challa’s need for rest after his exhausting and trying battle with the Tyrannosaurus Rex that Erik sicced on him added to the head-start which his enemy already had on him.
It is now a day or two later and our hero is deep into the Forest of Thorns. That forest is crowded to claustrophobic levels with nothing but thorned vegetation like trees, bushes, brambles, shrubs and even thorned leaves and fruits on the trees.
For literally millions of years the Forest of Thorns served as an impenetrable natural barrier which prevented Wakandans from penetrating into Serpent Valley along the gradual incline on which that forest lay.
The precipitous, Grand Canyonesque stone walls of the Chasm of Chilling Mist had always prevented foot traffic into Serpent Valley from that direction. Therefore even though the Forest of Thorns spread all the way up to the plateau on which rested Killmonger’s rebel capital of N’Jadaka, no one had ever used it as a downward route into Serpent Valley.
Killmonger being Killmonger, he and his army were simply ramrodding their way through the Forest of Thorns with their machinery, sacrificing much of its natural beauty and leaving gaping pathways in their wake as they made the days-long ascent through this natural wonder.
We join T’Challa as he has paused for a drink and to change the dressing on some of his wounds in the water of a stream which winds its way through the Forest of Thorns. Surreptitiously making their way toward the Black Panther with the intention of attacking him are a few of Killmonger’s soldiers plus their leader, Salamander K’Ruel.
Out of Erik’s most recent visit to Resurrection Altar back in the Land of the Chilling Mist, Salamander K’Ruel was the only one of Killmonger’s men to survive and gain superhuman powers from his exposure to the extraterrestrial rays of that Altar. The others, as usual, died agonizing deaths as their bodies were horribly mutated.
(Remember, as part of Killmonger’s callousness toward even his own followers he is content with those odds: gaining one super-powered minion per group of human guinea pigs, while the others in the group die painfully. Malice, King Cadaver and Sombre were the others who gained paranormal powers from Resurrection Altar while their fellow “offerings” died horribly.)
Salamander K’Ruel, as Erik christened him upon his survival of the ritual, grew raised, pimply sores all over his body and out of each of those sores his body hair continued to grow. Due to his mutation from the rays of Resurrection Altar, K’Ruel’s body hairs (except for those on his head) grew out of the sores as long, thin, needles.
Those long needles covered most of his body and not only served as a natural protection in close-quarters physical combat but could be shot from his body at will like porcupine quills. Salamander K’Ruel’s natural skin oils had mutated into toxic fluid which coated his needle-hairs/ quills and could either knock-out or kill anyone hit by his needle-hairs/ quills.
In addition, Salamander K’Ruel (easily the most whimsical Revolutionary Name that Killmonger bestowed on one of his followers) used a bow from which he fired Napalm-tipped arrows – years before Stallone in Rambo III and Mark Gregory in Thunder Warrior.
At any rate, K’Ruel and his handful of soldiers were left behind by Erik/ N’Jadaka to kill T’Challa just in case he survived his battle with the Tyrannosaurus Rex. They now launch their attack on the Black Panther. Continue reading

NAIA DIV ONE
FIRST SEMIFINAL – The 5 seeds – the GRACELAND UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS – found themselves up against one of the two remaining 1 seeds, the LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (as in Riverboat Pilots).
The Pilots seemed to have the game under control as they led the Yellow Jackets 46-34 at Halftime. After the break Graceland University came out crazed for a comeback. They proceeded to hold LSU-Shreveport to just 34 points in the 2nd Half while putting up 53 themselves. L.T. Davis led the Yellow Jackets with 28 points in this 87-80 victory. Continue reading

NCCAA DIV ONE
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The top two seeds were the last teams standing in this tournament. The 2 seeds – the EMMANUEL COLLEGE LIONS – went up against the top seeded SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES.
The Lions clobbered the Eagles in the opening Half and compiled a FIFTY-FIVE to TWENTY-SEVEN by the break. From there Emmanuel College just had to keep SCU at arm’s length the rest of the way for an 85-65 victory and their third title since 2009. Nathan Williams put up 15 points to lead the Lions. * THE LIONS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS OF THE NCCAA *

FINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – The 4 seeds – the LSU-ALEXANDRIA GENERALS – took the court against the 3rd seeded GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS. (I’ve told you over and over that there are WAY too many college teams called Tigers.)
After a tight 1st Half the Generals had mustered a 40-36 edge over the Tigers. LSU-Alexandria upped their intensity in the 2nd Half, putting more and more space between themselves and Georgetown College on their way to an 87-66 victory. William Claiborne of the Generals led his team with a Double Double of 20 points and 13 rebounds. Continue reading

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The NEBRASKA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY PRAIRIE WOLVES – a team Balladeer’s Blog has covered since their NAIA years – did battle with the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT OSHKOSH TITANS for the D3 title.
A thrilling and high-scoring 1st Half ended with the Prairie Wolves clinging to a 45-43 edge. After the break Nebraska Wesleyan University inched a little bit more away from the Titans, winning it all by a score of 78-72. Balladeer’s Blog’s fans know how in love I am with the books published by McFarland. They do some of the greatest and most useful reference material regarding every single obscure aspect of art and entertainment history. I’ve recommended their books to anyone who will listen, even going back to the days before I wrote this blog.
One of McFarland’s latest is Where Monsters Walked and it deals with the California filming locations of horror, sci-fi and fantasy films from 1925-1965. Despite how I always joke about Bronson Canyon being the site for virtually every low-budget flick of the 1950s onward, it’s terrific seeing the odd movie locations that you might not suspect were in the Golden State.

It’s another round of Give Them A Shoutout Before They’re Dead here at Balladeer’s Blog! You get your choice of bland or eerie versions of Fastball with their song Fire Escape.
For the more adventurous among you, you can watch the controversial video that had everybody talking! (CLICK BELOW) The video with the deranged fan getting dressed for work in the morning while her house is littered with the dead bodies of the members of Fastball.
The creepiness factor was always aided by the nonchalant way that our smiling killer casually types “They are all dead in my house. HA HA” to an online friend asking what may have happened to the “missing” band Fastball.
That creepiness factor shot through the roof as you could see the friend’s frantic response of “What? What are you talking about? Why would you say something like that?” and on and on while our killer ignored them and went back to her morning routine. Shades of the Claridryl ad! The toast in the fridge is a nice touch, too.
I know the brief pause for an “update” about the band’s disappearance muffed the timing a bit, but it’s still got a macabre overall feel until the wimpout ending. Anyway, no matter which band you perform YOUR morning VooDoo rituals to, enjoy this eerie music video from the pre-Adult Swim era.
