COLLEGE BASEBALL CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT RESULTS FROM APRIL 30TH

USCB Sand SharksTHE SUN CONFERENCE – The 6th seeded UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA-BEAUFORT SAND SHARKS stunned the top seeds, the EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EAGLES. In an ELEVEN inning Instant Classic the Sand Sharks (love that name) emerged with a 2-0 First Round victory.   ###   Meawhile the 5th seeded SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE scorched the complacent 2 seeds, the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES, by a score of 7-0.   ###   And to continue the theme of upsets in the Sun Conference tournament the (4) WEBBER INTERNATIONAL WARRIORS toppled the (3) ST THOMAS (FL) BOBCATS in a 4-3 nailbiter.

COLLEGE BASEBALL CONFERENCE AND REGIONAL TOURNAMENT RESULTS FROM APRIL 26TH

PARKPIRATESAMERICAN MIDWEST CONFERENCE – The 5th seeded PARK UNIVERSITY PIRATES and the 4 seeds, the BENEDICTINE-SPRINGFIELD BULLDOGS went to TWELVE innings in their opening round game. NOTEWORTHY COLLEGE BASEBALL RESULTS FROM APRIL 20TH

Rose-Hulman Engineers logoENGINEERS DO IT WITH SLIDE-RULES – The unranked ROSE-HULMAN INSTITUTE ENGINEERS managed a split with the number 9 MANCHESTER SPARTANS yesterday. The Engineers doubled-up on the Spartans by a score of 6-3 in the first game but the Spartans turned the tables on them in the second game, crushing them 10-1. Believe it or not this was the only upset in the Top 25 in yesterday’s action!

NOTEWORTHY COLLEGE BASEBALL RESULTS FROM APRIL 13TH

PrintHORNET SPLIT – The NAIA’s unranked SOUTHERN POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY RUNNIN’ HORNETS split a double-header yesterday with the number 3 team in the nation, the FAULKNER EAGLES. In one game the Runnin’ Hornets came out on top by a score of 5-1 and in the other the Eagles won in a 4-0 shutout. It all made for a bittersweet Senior Day for the Faulkner faithful.

acu firestormCHAR-BROILED MUSTANGS – The ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM took both games of their double-header against the 6th ranked MASTER’S MUSTANGS. Both games were absolute blowouts as the Firestorm singed the Mustangs 7-0 to start things off then incinerated them by a score of 13-3 in the second game. FINAL COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES: 2012

 Yesterday the NAIA World Series came to a close with the Tennessee Wesleyan College Bulldogs (logo at left) winning the championship game against the Rogers State University Hillcats. The final score was 10-6 but the Hillcats were leading 6-5 as late as the 8th inning. It’s the first national championship for TWC. Meanwhile, RSU made quite an impression on their first trip to the World Series.

The remaining 3 divisions of college sports covered here at Balladeer’s Blog play their World Series championship games today. The NCAA Division 2 game will be played at 7pm ET and pits the Delta State University Statesmen against the West Chester Golden Rams. The NJCAA1 game throws out its first pitch at 9pm ET and finds the storied Iowa Western Reivers taking on the San Jacinto College Gators. At 8pm ET the LSU- Eunice Bengals battle the defending champs, the Western Oklahoma State Pioneers in the NJCAA2 title matchup.

COLLEGE BASEBALL: WEEKEND SCORES IN THE NAIA, NJCAA, D2 AND D3 WORLD SERIES

 Fire up the grill for a Memorial Day Weekend overflowing with college baseball World Series action! The NAIA got the holiday rolling yesterday with the opening 4 games of their event and today the NCAA Divisions 2 and 3 join them.

Not only that but the NJCAA Divisions 1 and 2 hit the diamond today as teams like the Scottsdale Fighting Artichokes (logo at left) mark day 1 of their World Series.

COLLEGE WORLD SERIES TEAMS FOR THE NAIA AND NCCAA1

 Balladeer’s Blog takes a look at the finalized field of teams for the college world series’ in two of the divisions covered here. The NAIA’s College of Idaho Coyotes (logo at left) are the featured team in this post not only because they upset the top seed in their playoff region (Azusa Pacific University) but also because today the college announced IT IS RELAUNCHING ITS FOOTBALL PROGRAM!!!
