The West Coast League is a baseball league consisting of American and Canadian teams. For the U.S. Washington and Oregon are represented, and for Canada British Columbia and Alberta are represented.
College athletes hoping to enhance their resumes for potential pro careers compete in the league’s schedule of games from June through August every year so as not to interfere with their college team’s slate of games.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 5 seeds – the NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS (as in Shipbuilders) – faced the 4th seeded UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI-HAMILTON HARRIERS for the title in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
Things looked bad for the Builders as the Harriers seized a 4-0 lead in the 1st Inning and made that an 8-2 advantage by the 3rd. Continue reading

NAIA
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE did battle with the LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS (should be the Explorers) for the NAIA crown.
After a scoreless 1st Inning the Fire went up 1-0 in the 2nd and made that a 4-0 lead in the 3rd. Neither team scored in the 4th Inning but the 5th ended with the Warriors knotting things up at 5-5. Continue reading

NJCAA DIVISION ONE
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in NJCAA Division One baseball were the CENTRAL ARIZONA COLLEGE VAQUEROS and the COWLEY COLLEGE TIGERS.
The 1st Inning ended with the Vaqueros on top 2-1 and that became a 3-2 edge in the 2nd. The 3rd Inning saw Central Arizona College squeeze out a little breathing room as they made it a 4-2 game. Continue reading

NJCAA DIVISION THREE
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In a battle of Cinderellas, the 6 seeds – the HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS – took on the 5th seeded EASTFIELD COLLEGE HARVESTERS.
By the 3rd Inning the Generals were on top 3-0 but the Harvesters made it a 3-2 game in the 4th Inning before tying things up 3-3 in the 5th. From there Herkimer College clamped down defensively as their bats went white-hot. Continue reading

NCAA DIVISION TWO
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The 2 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA SPARTANS – were trying for their 8th National Championship, this time against the top seeded COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS.
The first 5 Innings of this game were a Pitcher’s Duel with neither team scoring. Continue reading

NCAA DIVISION TWO
FIRST SEMIFINAL: The top seeds – the COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS – played the 5th seeded UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES. Neither team scored during a Pitcher’s Duel that lasted for the first 6 Innings.
In the 7th Inning the Mavericks drove in what turned out to be the only Run of the game and rode it to a 1-0 triumph over the Mules. Pitcher Will Dixon was on the Mound for 9 Iron Man Innings for Colorado Mesa University. Continue reading
