DAY THREE, GAME ONE: The top seeds – the COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS – faced the 5th seeded UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES. After a scoreless 1st Inning the Mavericks went up 3-0 in the 2nd.
By the 5th Inning Colorado Mesa University led the Mules by a score of 6-3. The University of Central Missouri pulled to within 6-5 in the 6th Inning but no further, making 6-5 the final tally as well. Pitcher Andrew Morris got the win. Continue reading
NCAA DIVISION TWO
DAY TWO, GAME ONE: The 6 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT SAN DIEGO TRITONS – took on the 3rd seeded CATAWBA COLLEGE INDIANS. Neither team scored during a Pitcher’s Duel that lasted the first 4 Innings.
The 5th Inning saw the Tritons drive in 5 Runs, which also wound up being the last of the scoring for either team. When all was said and done UC-San Diego won the game 5-0 behind Pitcher Preston Mott. Continue reading
NJCAA DIVISION ONE
DAY TWO, ONLY GAME PLAYED: The IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS took on the CONNORS STATE COWBOYS. A 1-1 2nd Inning tie exploded into a 10-2 Reivers lead in the 3rd.
By the 6th Inning Iowa Western College was on top of the Cowboys by a tally of 16-10. The Reivers added 2 more Runs in the 8th for an 18-10 triumph. Braedyn McLaughlin was the winning Pitcher.
NJCAA DIVISION TWO
DAY TWO, GAME ONE: The 7 seeds – the NORTHEAST (NE) COLLEGE HAWKS – did battle with the 10th seeded MONROE (Rochester) COLLEGE TRIBUNES. Neither of these teams could stop the other from scoring for the first several Innings and by the end of the 5th the Tribunes were on top 11-9.
The Hawks went on top 13-11 in the 8th Inning and with Monroe College notching just 1 lone Run in the 9th, Northeast won the game by a Polo Score of 13-12. Pitcher Alex Potter got the Save.
DAY TWO, GAME TWO: The 3rd seeded MESA COLLEGE THUNDERBIRDS clashed with the 6 seeds – the LINCOLN LAND COLLEGE LOGGERS. After 3 scoreless Innings the Thunderbirds went up 1-0 in the 4th.
Mesa College registered a Shutout of the Loggers and the only other Run scored the rest of the way was by the Thunderbirds in the 7th. Mesa College won it 2-0 behind Pitcher Carter Robinson, who was on the Mound for 9 Iron Man Innings. Continue reading
NCAA DIVISION THREE
ADRIAN, MI REGION, DAY ONE: The top seeds – the DENISON UNIVERSITY BIG RED – took on the 4th seeded LA ROCHE COLLEGE REDHAWKS and shut them out 4-0. ### And the 2nd seeded HEIDELBERG UNIVERSITY STUDENT PRINCES won a 4-3 game for the ages over the 3 seeds – the ADRIAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS.
CORTLAND, NY REGION, DAY ONE: The top seeded CORTLAND STATE RED DRAGONS did battle with the 4 seeds – the ALVERNIA UNIVERSITY GOLDEN WOLVES – and defeated them 7-3. ### And the 3 seeds – the TUFTS UNIVERSITY JUMBOS – folded, spindled and mutilated the 2nd seeded PENN STATE AT HARRISBURG LIONS by a final count of THIRTEEN to FIVE.
BALTIMORE, MD REGION, DAY ONE: The 4 seeds – the SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY RIVER HAWKS – toppled the top seeded COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY LIONS in a 5-4 Instant Classic of an Upset. ### And the 2nd seeded JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUE JAYS downed the 3 seeds – the FARMINGDALE STATE RAMS – in a 6-2 affair. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 3rd seeded CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS did battle with the Cinderella 7 seeds – the WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS.
The Royals seized a quick 2-0 lead in the 1st Inning but by the end of the 2nd the score was knotted up at 3-3. In the 4th Inning Warner University went on top 4-3 but in the 5th the Tigers tied things up again at 4-4. The 7th Inning saw Campbellsville U tack on 3 more runs while the Royals could muster just 2 more in the 9th as the Tigers won it 7-6.
