AMERICAN MIDWEST CONFERENCE – The 5th seeded PARK UNIVERSITY PIRATES and the 4 seeds, the BENEDICTINE-SPRINGFIELD BULLDOGS went to TWELVE innings in their opening round game. In the end the Bulldogs emerged with an 8-7 win in this game for the ages. ### The (3) WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY OWLS upset the (2) LYON SCOTS, also by a tight 8-7 result. ### And the top seeded MISSOURI BAPTIST SPARTANS closed out the opening round in the AMC tourney by crushing Benedictine-Springfield 11-1.
MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE – It took ELEVEN innings, but in the end the 4th seeded CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS handed a 2-0 loss to the top seeded CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS. ### In the 5 spot the RIO GRANDE (OH) RED STORM eliminated the 8 seeds, the SHAWNEE STATE BEARS, in a 3-0 shutout. ### Meanwhile the (3) LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS routed the ST CATHARINE PATRIOTS 8-3. ### And the GEORGETOWN (KY) TIGERS sent home the CUMBERLANDS PATRIOTS with a 13-7 loss.
KENTUCKY INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The (2) INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS staved off elimination yesterday by defeating the 3rd seeded BRESCIA BEARCATS 2-0. ### The Grenadiers faced elimination because of their loss earlier in the day to the conference’s top seeds, the POINT PARK UNIVERSITY PIONEERS, by a score of 10-4. ### Brescia advanced to the elimination game against IUS by surviving the day’s earlier elimination game against the 4th seeded ASBURY EAGLES, downing them in a 12-1 laugher.
SOUTH REGION OF THE NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) – The TOCCOA FALLS COLLEGE EAGLES and the FLORIDA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE SUNS are the Yankees and Red Sox of the NCCAA’s South Region. To the surprise of no one the two wound up facing each other once again for the regional title. Earlier in the day the Suns blanked the CLEARWATER CHRISTIAN COUGARS 5-0 to earn a rematch with Toccoa Falls. The Eagles, the defending national champs of the NCCAA, took the South Region crown with a 4-2 victory over their archrivals from Florida Christian College.
