NO, AMERICA DOES NOT RUN CONCENTRATION CAMPS

Victims of Illegal ImmigrantsIt’s rather pathetic that this even needs to be said, but then the fascist lying trash who hate President Trump are pathetic, too. Below is a video from a Holocaust Survivor reminding Trump-haters what REAL Concentration Camps are. And remember, the so-called “family separations” at our southern border were going on under Obama and George W Bush, too, and the pictures being floated around the internet are virtually all from the pre-Trump years.

On top of which President Trump signed an Executive Order to change the situation that Obama and Bush allowed to continue. But even AFTER that, the “hey, let’s go protest something” fools still held that ridiculous weekend of protests over an issue that had already been addressed.

Trump helping victims of illegal immigrantsTwo comments I will say again: 1. We have long passed the point where, even if I didn’t support President Trump I would be pretending I did just to tick off the pieces of garbage who spew hatred of the man all day long,  and 2. The biggest regret of my life is having ever been part of the Democrat Party.

We need Third Parties desperately. If you’re someone who just can’t bear the thought of us having more than two viable political parties and are terrified of coalition governments, take comfort from the thought that a fracturing of the Democrats and Republicans may be a necessary upheaval and may be the only peaceful way out of our current situation.

Besides, after a mere decade or even less we’d probably be left with just two dominant parties still standing, anyway. But at least they would NOT be the worthless Democrat and Republican Parties as currently constituted. Anyway, here’s the video as promised:

FLASHMAN: THE LOST ADVENTURES

Alan Bates -better Flashman than MalcolmBalladeer’s Blog’s reviews of my picks for The Top Five Harry Flashman Novels are still getting more than their share of attention. (Click HERE ) For Flashman of Arabia click HERE.

Before I move on to review the other Flashman novels I decided to instead speculate – in total fanboy mode – on what we readers missed out on with those Harry Flashman adventures referred to but not completed before author George MacDonald Fraser passed away in 2008.

Australian gold fieldsProjected Title: FLASHMAN DOWN UNDER

Time Period: The early period of the Australian Gold Rush (1851-1852)

The Set-Up: The “Forty-Niner” section of Flashman and the Redskins ended in the Spring of 1850 with Harry and Kit Carson riding off into the sunset. Our antihero planned on at last completing his journey toward the California gold fields after all his misadventures along the way.

The Potential Story: Some members of the Australian outlaw gangs who would achieve large-scale fame during the Aussie Gold Rush got their start as failed prospectors turned criminals during the California Gold Rush. Once word got around about the Victoria finds many of the Australians abandoned California and sailed home hoping to strike it rich there.

After the thrilling Jornada del Muerto Desert finale to Flashman and the Redskins Harry was already in New Mexico so presumably he would have made it to California with at least half of 1850 still to go. Our protagonist’s usual boozing, gambling and whoring could easily have gotten him entangled in some way with a few of the shadier Aussies in the Golden State at the time.

Australian gold fields 2Once word reached California about Australia’s very own Gold Rush, Harry could have boarded a ship for Down Under either along with some of the Cali Aussies OR trying to slip away from them for his usual reasons – having slept with some of their women, conning them out of money, etc.

Arriving in Australia, it’s safe to assume Flashman would still disdain the thought of actually working to strike it rich and would have settled in at first trying to con money from successful prospectors or winning it from them at the card-table. (In Flash for Freedom Harry mentioned playing cards in Australia with bags of gold dust as the stakes.)  Continue reading

THE #WALKAWAY MOVEMENT ROLLS ALONG AS THE DEMOCRATS DRIVE AWAY EVEN MORE OF US

mascot new look donkey and elephant headsAs the hysteria, fascism and intolerance of the Democrats continues to drive away more and more of us former party members, their Brain Trust has decided that the most recent reaction to their derangement – the #Walkaway Movement – is really being caused by RUSSIANS! Yes, really! Apparently there’s NOTHING those rascally Russians can’t do!

Anyway, here are some more samples and excerpts from my fellow Russian Agents former Democrats about why they decided to Walk Away. (Just do a search for them if you want to read and watch your own examples.)

One person, a Memphis woman, introduced her young nephew, a St. Jude Hospital cancer survivor. She had tweeted a thank-you to Eric Trump for the Trumps’ $16 million contribution to the charity, and she’s furious at the orgy of Twitter attacks from crazed Trump-haters that she’s endured just for for thanking the Trumps.   (Let’s face it: Twitter and Facebook are nothing but “The Confirmation Bias Community”)

Another is a gay man who says that when he “came out” as a Trump supporter he was “called a Nazi, a self-hating fag …the gays and liberals have been ruthless towards me. I was never treated this way coming out of the closet as gay … I am so happy to see so many people bravely standing up now…. now I don’t feel so alone either.”

#WalkAwayA woman who describes herself as liberal and is married to a man who became a Trump voter: She says, “I was horrified that our friends now say I married a racist, homophobic, misogynist, horrible man. My Facebook page is just cancer, people hating on each other. I won’t be voting for a party that accuses everybody of being racist.”   (Facebook Fascists are the most narrow-minded people alive.)

African-American Brandon Tatum has a great video (CLICK HERE ) called Democrats Hate Black People in which he relates how shocked he was when he learned that the Democrats started the KKK, not the Republicans.

Among his other remarks about how the Democrats thrive on spreading hatred and division:

“They’re picking illegals over black people because they want the next voting bloc, and that’s illegals. They don’t care about you and your families. They want a population of ignorant people they can control. What did Barack Obama do for black people? Nothing…I really wish people would wake up. I got my MAGA hat on and I wear it because I’m a person with a brain and I’ve decided to walk away and be independent as a thinker.”  Continue reading

THE #WALKAWAY MOVEMENT: DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE FROM THE DEMOCRAT PARTY

Brandon StrakaHere at Balladeer’s Blog I often cover the way the Democrats have for years been driving away so many of us who used to belong to their political party. They have become nothing but intolerant fascists who think they’re entitled to inflict and promote violence against everyone who expresses disagreement with them.

In recent months the #WALKAWAY movement has been really taking off as more and more gay people, women and people of color express their disgust with what the Democrats have become and how they’ve decided to literally “walk away” from that party of demagogues and hatemongers.

The openly gay Brandon Straka (photo above left) made a video that went viral. A video in which he outlined many of the same reasons I’ve cited for why so many of us former Democrats are leaving that increasingly unhinged party. Among other things he said:

“Once upon a time, I was a liberal. Well, to be honest, less than a year ago, I was still a liberal. I reject a system which allows an ambitious, misinformed and dogmatic mob to suppress free speech, create false narratives, and apathetically steamroll over the truth.”

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY 2018

American flagBalladeer’s Blog wishes a happy birthday to the USA! What happened in early July of 1776 certainly needs no rehashing so in keeping with my blog’s theme of addressing more out of the way subjects this post will examine various events that took place on other July 4ths throughout American history.

JULY 4TH, 1778 – George Rogers Clark led his rebel forces in taking the British stronghold of Kaskaskia, near the confluence of the Mississippi and Kaskaskia Rivers. Clark and his Rangers were on a mission for then-Virginia Governor Patrick Henry.

JULY 4TH, 1783 – The Massachusetts Supreme Court is finalizing its written decision holding that slavery has been illegal in the state since adoption of the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights in 1780. Continue reading

FORT GRISWOLD: THE ALAMO OF THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR

With the 4th of July fast approaching here’s another seasonal post from Balladeer’s Blog. This action was also called the Battle of Groton Heights.

William LedyardFORT GRISWOLD – Fort Griswold was an American fortess on Groton Heights in Connecticut overlooking the Thames River. On September 6th, 1781 the American traitor General Benedict Arnold and his British troops raided Groton and burned New London while battling the massively outnumbered Rebel troops in the fort.

Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton had sent General Arnold to raid and seize ships in Connecticut and to determine if the former colony was ripe for occupation by British forces. The spirited defense of Fort Griswold permitted multiple American ships to escape the attacking Red Coats and nipped in the bud Clinton’s plans for occupying Connecticut.

Benedict Arnold led at least 1,700 British regulars in the battle. Fort Griswold was defended by a mere 150 American Militiamen under the command of Lieutenant Colonel William Ledyard.  Continue reading

BOBBY HESLEY: YET ANOTHER MAN OF COLOR WHO PRAISES PRESIDENT TRUMP

Bobby HesleyHere at Balladeer’s Blog I’m still fascinated with the ongoing political developments here in America under our de facto Third Party President Donald Trump. The crazed Democrats thrive on driving away more and more of us. Their latest disgusting act was trying to blame President Trump for the shooting at that Annapolis newspaper but it turned out that the alleged shooter – Jarrod Ramos – had a feud with the newspaper going back several years. Nothing to do with Trump in other words.

I can’t keep up with all the African American figures who publicly praise President Trump and point out how he has accomplished more for them than Democrats have done in decades. Hell, there’s an entire #WALKAWAY movement featuring people of color expressing their reasons for supporting Trump and ignoring empty Democrat promises.

Trump never called racist til running against DemocratsBobby Hesley is another of Balladeer’s Blog’s Martin Luther King People of Courage who fit that description. A link to Hesley’s latest piece is below but first some excerpts:

As an African-American, I cannot remember a better time in history to live in the United States; and thanks to the policies of President Trump, many other Blacks are starting to feel the same way.  The 60-year gig is up for the power-hungry Democratic Party that has been running a massive scam on Black people …” Continue reading

CAPTAIN SILAS TALBOT: REVOLUTIONARY WAR PRIVATEER

Balladeer’s Blog’s 2017 post about Revolutionary War Privateer Captain Jonathan Haraden has proven to be a very popular item. Here’s another neglected American Privateer cut from the same cloth. And for the Haraden post click HERE

Silas TalbotCAPTAIN SILAS TALBOT – Even if he had never gone on to a career in Privateering, Talbot would still have been a fascinating figure from Revolutionary War history. On June 28th, 1775 Silas was commissioned as a Captain in a Rhode Island regiment and served in the military operations which ended with the British surrender of Boston in March of 1776.

During the New York campaign Talbot and a picked crew sailed a Fire Ship into the 64-gun British ship Asia. Under heavy fire from the Asia and with his own craft already burning, Silas was the last man overboard, suffering severe burns which left him temporarily blinded. Talbot was promoted to Major upon recovering and rejoining his unit. Continue reading

NEW YORK: DECLARATION SIGNERS

With the 4th of July holiday fast approaching here’s a seasonal post: a look at New York’s 4 representatives at the Continental Congress who signed the Declaration of Independence. FOR ALL THE SIGNERS CLICK HERE

New YorkNEW YORK – 1. William Floyd – Prior to being sent to the 2nd Continental Congress in 1776 Floyd was a Militia General who, earlier in the year, had led New York troops in successfully driving off British forces in the Battle of Gardiner’s Bay on Long Island.

2. Francis Lewis – During the war his home was destroyed by the British who also dragged off his wife Elizabeth and imprisoned her. George Washington managed her release by having the wives of two wealthy Philadelphia Tories arrested, then exchanging them for Mrs Lewis.   Continue reading
