KILLRAVEN ELEVEN: THE DEATH MERCHANT OF CHICAGO

FOR PART ONE OF BALLADEER’S BLOG’S EXAMINATION OF THIS OLD, OLD MARVEL COMICS STORYLINE CLICK HERE  The revisions I would make are scattered throughout the synopsis below.

Killraven 11AMAZING ADVENTURES Vol 2 #28 (January 1975)

Title: The Death Merchant of Chicago

Synopsis: This issue starts off with a splash page featuring narration which nicely captures the charisma and warrior majesty of Killraven, leader of a group of Freemen rebelling against Earth’s alien conquerors (Martians in the original War of the Worlds comic book but Zetans in my revisions).

We get a reference to his years as a gladiator in the arena circuit set up in a bread and circuses manner by the Martians/ Zetans and the ruling class of human quislings who help them subjugate humanity. We also get a reminder that he is the focal point of the ongoing war, a reference to Killraven’s possession of The Power (a pre-Star Wars variation of The Force) which he is still struggling to master.

The story picks up in early April of 2019 (lol) but you can just picture it as 44 years in the future, as it would have been to readers in 1975. The Freemen and their new member Volcana Ash have traveled from last issue’s Milwaukee battleground with the Death Breeders to the ruins of Meig’s Airfield outside Chicago.

Killraven and his Freemen have been using the place as an observation post to prepare for their assault on the futuristic, skyscraper-tall alien fortress called Death-Birth. Last time around we learned that it is a Martian/ Zetan stronghold built by human slave labor as a combined military post and breeding station for human beings, since the aliens feed on humans like cattle.   Continue reading

HELLRAISER: THE FOUR BEST FILMS

Halloween Month continues here at Balladeer’s Blog with my take on the top four (of ten) movies in the Hellraiser franchise.

HellraiserHELLRAISER (1987) – “Jee-zuz WEPT!” Clive Barker helped translate his novel The Hellbound Heart to the big screen in this film. It’s incredibly rare for a novelist to get to DIRECT a movie version of one of his own works but Barker made the most of it.

Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) has exhausted sexual sensation with women, men, corpses and animals. Seeking new stimulation he solves LeMerchand’s Puzzle Box, a “Rubik’s Cube From Hell” which leaves him at the mercy of the demonic inter-dimensional sadomasochists called the Cenobites of the Order of the Gash.

Suffering unimaginable torments as the M in this S&M relationship, Frank struggles to escape the Cenobites for good, even if it means sacrificing his brother Larry plus Larry’s wife Julia (Clare Higgins) and daughter Kirsty (Ashley Laurence). Continue reading

MOTHER JONES: TRUMP IS THE NEW ABRAHAM LINCOLN

Donald Trump rock starJust last night Mother Jones described de facto Third Party President Donald Trump as “the new Abraham Lincoln, saving the country from more Democrat perfidy.”

Yes, Mary Harris Jones, aka “Mother” Jones, once again contacted Balladeer’s Blog posthumously to express her admiration for President Trump in his one-man stand against the swamp of corruption that masquerades as the United States government.

According to Mother Jones last night: “Listen, Balladeer, in a way Trump is having to serve as both Lincoln AND General Grant. And as Lincoln said about Grant so we can say about President Trump. We cannot spare this man. He fights.”

Mother Jones also provided this excellent article skewering the Democrats’ false narrative and their not-an-impeachment-just-an-impeachment-inquiry. This procedure, by the way, VIOLATES THE PROCEDURES FOLLOWED WHEN PURSUING IMPEACHMENT AGAINST ANDREW JOHNSON, RICHARD NIXON AND BILL CLINTON.

Pelosi fake impeachment inquiryThe link is below, but first some excerpts:

“The attempt at impeachment is best understood as a legislative coup against a democratically elected president, and the radical leftists in Congress are working arm-in-arm with the deep state saboteurs and their allies in the media in order to try to effectuate this illegal coup.”

“The deep state is a collection of permanent bureaucrats enmeshed inside the federal government who can’t be fired or removed — at least historically, have not been able to be — because of misguided civil service laws. They believe they know better than you, and your listeners, and the voters how the country ought to be run.”

” At this moment in time, the deep state has a knife aimed at the heart of American democracy, and that’s what you’re seeing playing across your TV screens and newspapers pages and online, with these so-called whistleblowers, who are, of course, in fact, angry hate-filled rage-driven bureaucrats determined to take down the President of the United States and illicitly and improperly using the Whistleblower Protection Act in order to effectuate their designs.”

March for Trump“One of the gravest threats that we face today — and I can’t emphasize this enough — to our republican form of government is the unelected deep state, and I’ll explain what I mean by that. The Constitution of the United States, Article II, states very clearly that, and this is a quote, ‘The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.’ What that means is that the whole executive power is vested in one democratically elected person: the president. The president, who is accountable to the voters — the president, who is accountable to the American people, holds and wields the executive power.”

“Every other person in the federal government in the executive branch is an extension of his authority, is acting as an extension of his authority delegated to them. They have no independent authority. So when a deep state bureaucrat says, ‘I don’t want Donald Trump to be president. I don’t want to effectuate his policies. I don’t want to carry out his agenda, so I will do the opposite,’ they’re violating the Constitution and they’re taking away the power of the American people to elect who heads the executive branch and what policies they implement.”

“… they’ll spin and fabricate and lie to create their desired narrative to try to steer policy in the direction they want to steer it in, and the most dangerous expression of this — of course, we’ve seen — has been in the intelligence community, which is amassed with awesome power, awesome capabilities, and they’re directing that and wielding that — in some cases — against a duly-elected President of the United States of America, which is a form of sabotage that should terrify everyday American citizens. That is now the situation we find ourselves in.”

Trump in the way“Why? Because this president dared to disrupt two-party betrayal of the American people over many decades: betrayal on trade, betrayal on China, betrayal on foreign policy, betrayal on our southern border, betrayal on our economy, decade after decade, year after year, administration after administration. This president dared to stand up to defy that betrayal — was elected to end that betrayal — but the people who profited like parasites off of that betrayal are now the ones trying to prevent him from executing the agenda that the American people installed him to execute. That’s the situation we find ourselves in today.” Continue reading

MUMMY STORY FOR HALLOWEEN – IRAS: A MYSTERY (1896)

Balladeer’s Blog’s month-long celebration of Halloween continues with this vintage mummy tale.

Iras A MysteryIRAS: A MYSTERY (1896) – This story was written by female author Henrietta Dorothy Everett under the pseudonym Theo Douglas. The setting is the 1880s.

Our main character, Egyptologist Ralph Lavenham, becomes haunted by Savak, an evil priest whose spirit was unleashed during a séance Lavenham attended. TIPS AND TRICKS ON GRAFFITI PAINTING

To say that “times have changed” would be a gross understatement and a vast generalization. The progression of time has seen a series of changes across every single thing that touches our lives. One of those things is the perception of graffiti or spray-painting.

Once, it may have been thought of as something that only vandals did; street toughs who had nothing better to do than to mark up a brick wall. But that has evolved. Now, it is considered true art to be able to create beautiful graffiti artwork.

CIA CRIMES AND SUSPECTED CRIMES

CIA John BrennanJohn Brennan, former CIA director, embodies the type of conscienceless trash who run and “just follow orders” at the organization. His resignation years ago came amid accusations that he was illegally spying on members of Congress – the body ultimately charged with overseeing the CIA.

America’s forever-delinquent mass media has seemed to forget the past atrocities of that ignominious body. Even politicians like Democrat Chuck Schumer have expressed their fear of our corrupt “intelligence community” notably in Schumer’s remark that if an elected official dares offend America’s CIA “They have six ways from Sunday of getting back at you.”

Time for a walk down memory lane regarding the activities of CIA gentry like John Brennan, George HW Bush, etc. There may be drug dealers and child pornographers who can look down their noses at Brennan and his ilk.

Bush CIANAZIS “R” CIA – Though today assorted drama queens like to flail at the imaginary Nazis in their heads the CIA helped out and worked with plenty of REAL Nazis after World War 2. As in LONG after. Remember General Reinhard Gehlen among others.

“FREE” ELECTIONS – By this point we’ve all lost count of the number of elections the CIA have interfered with and the number of nations in which they’ve carried out that interference.

MASS MEDIA MANIPULATION – Deputy CIA Director Frank Wisner once referred to America’s news outlets as “the Mighty Wurlitzer” for the CIA’s ability to make those outlets play whatever tune they want.

OPERATION GLADIO – This operation still doesn’t get the coverage it deserves but it has been well-documented enough that you can do online searches for yourself regarding its ugliness. Continue reading

HALLOWEEN STORIES OF RALPH ADAMS CRAM

Balladeer’s Blog’s month-long celebration of Halloween continues with this look at six of the neglected horror stories written by architect Ralph Adams Cram between 1894 and 1903.

Black Spirits and whiteNUMBER 252 RUE M LE PRINCE – A haunted house at the title address in Paris turns out to be the former home of a Spanish sorcerer. The story’s narrator makes the typically stupid decision for a horror story of spending a night in the house to get to the bottom of the supernatural phenomena.

He compounds his stupidity by sleeping in the temple room in which the sorcerer performed rituals on his Black Magic altar. Overnight the foolish narrator is attacked by a blob-like, protoplasmic monster with wide, staring eyes.

THE DEAD SMILE – Lured by shrill screaming and shrieking from the family mausoleum, Sir Gabriel Ockham seeks to quiet the dead. To that end he must creep into the tomb of his evil late father and obtain a mysterious package containing an old family secret. His father’s corpse lies there outside its coffin and with its decapitated head which moves around on its own, smiling at all who enter. Continue reading
