Funny Man Bill Kristol: He always keeps the straightest face this side of Leslie Nielsen while making everyone around him convulse with laughter!
Oh, I know for most people the late Andy Kaufman will always be the greatest “concept” comedian ever, but I’ve always been partial to funny man Bill Kristol. Bill’s send-ups of smug, pompous, callous and snobbish Conservative pundits have been making me laugh for years. Like Paul Reubens with his Pee Wee Herman character or Paul Schaeffer with his Vegas schmoozer act, Kristol never broke character. His serious expression made the da-da-esque comedy spilling from his mouth even funnier.
Sure, Stephen Colbert stole Kristol’s act, but Colbert was always too mainstream. Even the most humorless people knew Colbert was spoofing that annoying windbag Bill O’Reilly but real hipsters knew there were huge elements of Bill Kristol’s shtick stolen line for line. It’s like how the early rock’n’rollers unashamedly stole a lot of black music, y’know?
This week Kristol churned out his latest comedy masterpiece: he plucked a guy named David French out of the Federal Witness Protection Program and claimed he was running the stooge as a Third Party Candidate! This after teasing the “big reveal” over the Memorial Day weekend on social media, bragging about how potent this mystery candidate would be. Ah, Bill! You still got it!
This is funnier than Firesign Theater’s “Papoon for President” bits or Steve Gerber’s “Howard the Duck for President” gag way back in 1976. Leave it to Bill Kristol to find a mock candidate even more absurd than those! Continue reading

### As if we needed any further proof that this has been going on for far too long, Los Angeles news has done an expose on the Democrats preparing to use the names of dead people on voting ballots. A vault containing hundreds was mentioned in the report and who knows how many “vaults” the sleazy Democrats have scattered around.

I think the labels Liberal and Conservative have become meaningless here in this era of political transition. The Libertarian label has become just as meaningless. Plus I’m an Independent voter, not a member of the Democratic or Republican parties. I can objectively state that Barack Obama is the very worst president the United States has ever had.
Little Barry has made health insurance unaffordable for the working class and has caused the loss of countless full-time jobs. He then brags about all the new part-time jobs that have sprung up. This piece of garbage hasn’t even been good for the Democratic Party. As Rory Cooper and others have pointed out, under Obama the Democrats have lost over 900 seats in state legislatures, at least a dozen gubernatorial seats, 69 seats in the House and 13 more in the Senate.
Just about everybody is familiar with Timothy Leary’s encouragement to “Question Authority” but several of the faux rebels who sport those two words on T-Shirts or bumper stickers or screen savers don’t seem to live up to them.
Balladeer’s Blog presents another examination of an ancient Greek political satire. This comedy by Aristophanes was one that I was planning on covering very soon when I started posting my reviews of Attic Old Comedy years ago. For various reasons it kept falling by the wayside.
More than 2,300 years before George Orwell’s Animal Farm and 1984, Aristophanes was dealing with some of the same political themes.
