MUSLIM TERROR ATTACKS IN ENGLAND

london attacksElements of the Muslim Fascist Murder Machine struck in England today to commemorate the Muslim Fascist attack in Belgium a year ago. My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones.

The White House has released a brief readout describing the call between President Trump and the Prime Minister:

“President Donald J. Trump spoke today with Prime Minister Theresa May of the United Kingdom to offer his condolences on todays terror attack in London and his praise for the effective response of security forces and first responders.

“He pledged the full cooperation and support of the United States Government in responding to the attack and bringing those responsible to justice.”

And it's MuslimsIT IS A WELCOME CHANGE TO HAVE A PRESIDENT WHO SYMPATHIZES WITH THE INNOCENT VICTIMS OF MUSLIM TERROR ATTACKS, AND DOESN’T TRY TO SOFT-PEDAL THESE ATROCITIES LIKE BARACK OBAMA ALWAYS DID. Continue reading

DRIVE-IN MASSACRE (1976)

drive-in-massacreDRIVE-IN MASSACRE (1976) – Category: Gimmick movie worth watching once, but never again.

This movie has that certain charm to it that most low-budget 70s horror films possess. When watching Drive-In Massacre you can’t help but reflect on the fact that the talent of John Carpenter is the only thing separating his milestone film Halloween from the many other 1970s slice and dice films like this one.

The plot of Drive-In Massacre involves a serial killer who strikes only at drive-ins and, in the tried and true custom that countless subsequent slasher films would follow, he thrives on killing couples who are making out. At least at first. The killer’s motive varies throughout the movie, but the murder weapon remains a sword.  Continue reading

BRACKET OF SHAME: BATTLE OF THE FACULTY LOUNGE FASCISTS

Bracket of shameCourtesy of the Alliance Defending Freedom comes this hilarious bracket depicting some of America’s WORST colleges and universities when it comes to Freedom of Expression.

The intolerant fools of the “academic world” (LMFAO) tend to be either Left-Wing Archie Bunkers from the 1960s Generation OR people who had the misfortune of being “educated” (LMFAO) by Left-Wing Archie Bunkers from the 1960s Generation. FOR MORE ON THAT, CLICK HERE

Free Speech 2There was a time when Liberals actively supported freedom of expression because they understood it was THE primary freedom from which all other freedoms flowed. The early figures from my own country’s history protected speech with the FIRST Amendment to the Constitution because they knew all too well that ideas that are considered taboo and offensive today might be considered essential truths by future generations.

The forever-hypocritical 1960s generation of American Liberals were all about Free Speech when THEIR ideas were the ones offending people. Once they considered themselves to be comfortably in the cultural, educational and political driver’s seat by the early 1990s they decided they wanted their own already outdated worldview enshrined in stone and presented as THE one true set of values.

The totalitarian asses of the 1960s can’t bear the fact that younger people might have opinions that offend THEM as much as their opinions offended their parents’ generation.  Continue reading

HEX (1973)

Cristina Raines

Cristina Raines

HEX (1973) Category – Enjoyably bad movie but not fun-bad enough to earn my highest rating        Hex, which was also released under the title The Screaming, belongs to that joyously bizarre subgenre of motorcycle horror films.

That  peculiar cinematic niche also plays home to flicks like Werewolves On Wheels, about a biker gang that hassles Satanists who transform them into werewolves, to Psychomania, about a biker gang that forms a pact with Satan  which permits them to commit suicide and then return from the grave as invincible, soulless marauders and to Blood Freak, about a biker who turns into a turkey monster (no, really).

Hex trumps all of those other films for sheer weirdness, partly because it is set in the early 1920s and partly because its western locale makes it a candidate for my Weird Western series during the Frontierado Holiday season during the summer.

The underrated beauty Cristina Raines stars in this incoherent mishmash as Oriole, a half-breed witch who uses the Native American magic taught to her by her father to defend herself and her sister Acacia from a roaming biker gang.  Continue reading

MORE CONSERVATIVES REJECTING THAT OUTDATED LABEL

Mascot with demo and repub heads

The symbol of the nonexistent Balladeer Political Party

Here at Balladeer’s Blog I continue to have the time of my life watching this period of political realignment unfold. In the tradition of my blog posts from American Liberals commenting on their disillusionment here is another item from an American Conservative  – Greg Richards – expressing their own disgust and disillusionment.

Former Conservatives like this have been driven away by the callous, comfortable and uncaring Conservatives like George Will, William Kristol, and the repulsive Bush family’s beloved Karl “The Hutt” Rove.

Greg Richards expresses particular contempt for National Review‘s Kevin Williamson, who outdid even American Liberals at expressing hatred for the working class in 2016. Williamson famously stated that working class communities “deserve to die”- and that’s AN EXACT QUOTE!

At any rate the link to Greg Richards’ excellent piece is below, but first some excerpts:

“Something unexpected has happened with the rise of Donald Trump.  The conservative movement has collapsed.” (Note from Balladeer: We should be so lucky.)

“It turns out that the conservative movement was and is uninterested in the welfare of the United States as a nation.”

“(T)hat is the wellspring of the hatred – there is no other word for it – the hatred toward Trump from every corner, every leader of the conservative movement and the conservative commentariat.  Not just disagreement, but hatred.”

“Conservative writers have taken economic optimization as the end goal of society, with everything else – everything else – to be disregarded and discarded.  The American people, once they found a leader (Trump) who recognized the consequences of this idea, if not a student of the philosophy behind it, roared back against this dark, savage dystopia that has nothing to do with the American dream.” Continue reading

King of Darkness 2KING OF DARKNESS

Secret Identity: Bruce King, radio engineer.
