AIHEC COLLEGE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED

Sisseton Wahpeton College MustangsCHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The AIHEC (American Indian Higher Education Consortium) College Basketball Tournament’s format starts with Pool-Play followed by the more familiar playoff format. The last two teams standing this year were the SISSETON WAHPETON COLLEGE MUSTANGS and the TURTLE MOUNTAIN COLLEGE MIGHTY MICKINOCKS.

At Halftime the Mustangs led the Mighty Mickinocks 53-45 then went on to win this action-packed game by a Century-Club score of 109-87. Sisseton Wahpeton College’s Derrick McCauley was named the Tournament MVP. In the Semifinals the Mustangs defeated the three-time defending National Champions the Salish Kootenai College Bison. * THE MUSTANGS ARE THE AIHEC CHAMPIONS *
