Balladeer’s Bowl results are in, and for the fifth year in a row the NAIA football champions – in this case the SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS – defeated the NCAA D3 champions – the UW-WHITEWATER WARHAWKS!
The voting ended at midnight last night and the Raiders won by a nearly two to one margin. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RAIDERS, THE WINNERS OF BALLADEER’S BOWL FIVE!

A SYMBOL OF HATRED, SLAVERY, MASS RAPE AND INFANTICIDE.
It’s no secret that Islam is the most superstitiously savage religion in the world at this particular point in history. It also leads the world in homophobia, misogyny and utter disregard of fundamental human rights, especially freedom of expression. Today Muslim fanatics attacked the offices of the French publication Charlie Hebdo, one of the few outlets that has the courage to criticize Islam as well as other religions. The publication has often been threatened by the reactionary forces of Islam and today the animals acted on those threats. “We have avenged the prophet” was the departing message of the savage attackers.
At least twelve are dead and more than twenty wounded at the moment as breaking news continues to come in from France. The Muslim attackers fled and have exchanged gunfire with the pursuing police. In 2011 Islamofascists fire-bombed the publication.
The future MUST belong to those who insult the blood-soaked, child-raping prophet of Islam called Muhammad.

Comment: With only thousands of the Tupari people left this is a sadly neglected pantheon of deities.

Balladeer’s Blog resumes its examination of the Son of the Black Mass films from Japan. In the previous installment I reviewed the first of the films to star Raizo Ichikawa, the man who made the character his own even though there were three films made with the figure before Ichikawa and two after his death in 1969.
The title character was Kyoshiro Nemuri – a red-haired Samurai, the offspring of a Japanese woman and the insane Portugese Christian Missionary who raped her. That madman was dabbling in Satanism and so Nemuri was conceived during a Black Mass, hence the title of the novels and the subsequent film series.

At least it USED to be the title of the film series. The most recent video release of these neglected gems discarded the original title and even the secondary moniker of The Full Moon Killer series and went instead with the silly Sleepy Eyes of Death. I’ll point out again how misleading that title is for such a badass character.
SWORD OF ADVENTURE (1964) is the second of Ichikawa’s twelve films as Kyoshiro Nemuri. We’re still a couple installments away from this series reaching the heights of bizarreness and anarchy that it is known for, so this tale has more in common with conventional Samurai flicks.
In late 1780’s Edo (later to be called Tokyo) Nemuri is whiling away an afternoon along a public thoroughfare whose dining and shopping establishments afford a magnificent view of Mount Fuji. An enterprising little boy trying to raise himself after his father was killed and his establishment taken over pulls one of the few strings yet unfrozen in Nemuri’s ever-colder heart. 5. THE WORLD’S A STAGE – Yes, I know this film was not the most daring of things, but that’s why it’s in last place on the list. The World’s A Stage still went where other movies fail to go in this age of celebrity worship. Actors in a popular political drama let their roles go to their heads and begin putting on airs as if they are as authoritative as the characters they play.
The foolish voters actually think the actors and actresses must have real gravitas and elect them to high office with hilariously disastrous results. The idiocy of taking shallow, uninformed and emotionally unstable celebrities seriously when it comes to complex real-world issues is magnificently lampooned in this comedy. 4. AGENTS OF I.S.L.A.M. – This television series was like the flip side of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The title organization, I.S.L.A.M. (Intolerant Savages Loathing All Modernity) were violent practitioners of a blood-soaked religion which was never named on the show. Various fan theories developed over what religion was being criticized by the program.
The television series depicted agents of I.S.L.A.M. roaming the world and beheading people, mutilating the genitals of women, slitting the throats of infants and countless other acts of random violence against innocent human beings. This was the must-see show of 2014 but the creative team behind the program better stop being so coy in 2015 and finally reveal what religion the show is referring to. NUMBER ONE TAKES A FALL – The 5th ranked UW- STEVENS POINT POINTERS were on the road against the number 1 team in the nation – the previously unbeaten SAINT NORBERT COLLEGE GREEN KNIGHTS. The 1st Period ended in a 1-1 tie, but the Pointers had moved out to a 4-2 lead to end the 2nd. The Green Knights mounted a furious rally in the 3rd Period but fell short as UW-Stevens Point won the game 6-5.
UWSP’s Joe Kalisz had 2 Goals and 1 Assist, while Goaltender Brandon Jaeger got the win with 34 blocked shots. The Pointers are now 10-2, the Green Knights are 10-1-1.
OTHER TOP FIFTEEN UPSETS – The only other upset among the ranked teams this week came in the game between the unranked BUFFALO STATE BENGALS and the number 12 NEUMANN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS. The Bengals scored in all 3 Periods, leading 3-1 after the 1st, 4-2 after the 2nd and 5-2 to close things out. Five separate Buffalo State skaters picked up Goals while between the pipes Ian Sylves got the win with 37 saves. The Bengals improve to 4-6 while the Knights fall to 6-3. Continue reading

Balladeer’s Blog resumes its look at the neglected Pulp Hero G-8. This is a story-by- story look at the adventures of this World War One American fighter pilot who – along with his two wingmen the Battle Aces – took on various super-natural and super- scientific menaces thrown at the Allied Powers by the Central Powers of Germany, Austria- Hungary and the Ottoman Muslim Turks.
G-8 was created by Robert J Hogan in 1933 when World War One was still being called simply the World War or the Great War. Over the next eleven years Hogan wrote 110 stories featuring the adventures of G-8, the street-smart pug Nippy Weston and the brawny giant Bull Martin, his two Battle Aces.
88. DEATH TO THE HAWKS OF WAR (January 1941) – The very first appearance of Herr Teufel (“Mr Devil”), the latest member of G-8’s Rogue’s Gallery of foes. Herr Teufel is tall, thin, pale and boney-faced. Like so many of our hero’s adversaries he’s a mad scientist and in his particular case his headquarters is a hidden lair in the Bavarian Alps.
Herr Teufel’s plan to help the Central Powers win the war involves his latest invention – a drug that, when injected in German pilots, transforms them into maniacal, blood-thirsty sky warriors. These “Hawks of War” have supernatually-fast reflexes, enhanced vision, unerring aim, machine-like stamina and lack any need for sleep.
If Teufel’s super-pilots are successful the Kaiser plans to have the drug mass-produced and used to transform all the Central Powers ground troops into super-soldiers. Needless to say G-8 and his Battle Aces are called into action to take on and bring down Herr Teufel’s human weapons. Our hero suffers a bullet wound to the head at one point in this exciting adventure. Continue reading

Happy New Year from Balladeer’s Blog, the only site on the web that equally criticizes American Liberals and Conservatives. Here’s my list of recommended New Year’s resolutions for those two groups of shrill children.
* LIBERALS *
* Stop being such hilariously pretentious asses and such cowardly hypocrites.
* Grow a backbone and begin criticizing Islam’s homophobia and misogny as much as they criticize Christianity for those same faults.
* Acknowledge the genuine pain and financial hardship that Barack Obama’s policies have caused and stop callously denigrating the victims of his heartlessness when they speak out.
* Try to remember a time when they were capable of spontaneous human emotions without distorting them through the prism of their bizarre political prejudices.
* Realize that as long as they pretend Al “Tawana Brawley scandal” Sharpton should be taken seriously they are encouraging the racism and bigotry that he embodies.
