Balladeer’s Bowl always pits the NAIA football champs against the NCAA D3 football champs. The results are in, and – after two years in a row in which the D3 champs won – the NAIA champs got the victory. The MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS defeated the UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS in Balladeer’s Bowl IX.
The voting ended today and the Mustangs won it 242 to 196. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MUSTANGS, THE WINNERS OF BALLADEER’S BOWL IX.

The results are in, and for only THE SECOND TIME the Champions of NCAA D3 – this year the UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS – defeated the Champions of the NAIA – this year the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS. 
Readers of Balladeer’s Blog get to vote on the winner over the next week, so NAIA and D3 boosters can begin their annual deluge of emails to me arguing for their choice.Email voting is the ONLY official way to let your decision be known, a procedure I implemented years ago to cut down on repeat voting by the same people.

The UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS are the NCAA Division Three champs for 2016, and the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS are the champs of the NAIA. 
Balladeer’s Bowl results are in, and for the sixth year in a row the NAIA football champions – in this case the MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS – defeated the NCAA D3 champions – the UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS.
