JOE BIDEN CRIMES AND SCANDALS: DECEMBER 20th

biden bad winterIndependent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog takes a look at some of the latest crimes and scandals from corrupt yet senile Joe Biden, head of the Biden Crime Family. Joe somehow became worth $150 million dollars during a career as a white-collar criminal in the cesspool of corruption which masquerades as the U.S. government.

Tiny hands Joe Biden

Corrupt, senile, tiny-handed Joe Biden

Anyway, with American hostages still in Afghanistan after Biden’s mishandling of the previously agreed upon withdrawal procedures, with BIDEN STILL HAVING MORE KIDS IN CAGES THAN EITHER OBAMA OR TRUMP HAD, with the creepy diary claiming Joe Biden showered with his daughter when she was a child (eeewww) and with Bidenflation crushing the working class and the poor, let’s proceed.

BIDEN CAUSES HIGHEST INFLATION SINCE 1982. Plus more HERE.

AND YET ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE BIDEN REGIME QUESTIONED ABOUT FAMILIAL TIES TO CHINESE COMPANIES. Buying Joe Biden was the best investment China ever made. No wonder the Biden Regime’s policies favor China while destroying America’s working class and poor.

BIDEN REGIME PRESSED ON THE AMERICAN HOSTAGES IN AFGHANISTAN.

Callous Dolt

JOE BIDEN CALLOUSLY JOKES ABOUT THE FINANCIAL SUFFERING THIS CHRISTMAS.

POLL FROM THE DEMOCRAT MEDIA OUTLET POLITICO: 67% OF INDEPENDENTS SAY BIDEN SHOULD NOT RUN IN 2024. Joe Biden is a disaster.

BIDEN ALLY AND FELLOW WHITE-COLLAR CRIMINAL NANCY PELOSI REFUSES TO BLOCK INSIDER-TRADING SCAMS BY MEMBERS OF CONGRESS. And let’s remember that Nancy’s husband’s company conveniently got a LOT of federal contracts during her years in Congress. What a coincidence! America’s career politicians are criminals.

BIDEN REGIME ORDERS AMERICANS TO “LOWER THEIR EXPECTATIONS“. Joe, we can’t lower our expectations enough to accommodate your countless failures.

COURAGEOUS DEFIANCE OF BIDEN AND HIS REGIME CONTINUES WITH “LET’S GO BRANDON” CHANTS GREETING THE DEMAGOGUE IN KENTUCKY. Continue reading

NAIA, NCAA AND NJCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS CROWNED FOR 2021

Morningside MustangsNAIA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Yesterday the MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS clashed with the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS (should be the Zebras) for the NAIA title. In the 1st Half the teams went blow for blow and score for score, resulting in a 21-21 deadlock at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended in a 28-28 tie but in the 4th the Mustangs pulled away for a 38-28 victory and their 3rd title in 4 years.

Ferris State BulldogsNCAA DIVISION TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt pitted the FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS against the storied VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS. It looked like a shootout was in store as the 1st Quarter ended in a 20-17 edge for the Bulldogs. In reality, however, Ferris State shut out the Blazers the rest of the way, leading 41-17 at the Half on their way to a resounding FIFTY-EIGHT to SEVENTEEN blowout win. Continue reading

SPIDER-MAN: 1970s CLASSICS – THE FINALE

Here’s the sixteenth and final part of Balladeer’s Blog’s look at Spider-Man 1970s Classics. For Part One click HERE.

sm 149SPIDER-MAN Vol 1 #149 (October 1975)

Title: Even if I Live, I Die

Villain: The Jackal

NOTE: Of these two final installments of the lengthy Jackal/ Gwen Stacy saga, this first one wraps up the main storyline and the second one (below) provides a necessary epilogue to tuck away a major loose end.

Synopsis: We pick up right where we left off, on the rooftop where Spider-Man just defeated Tarantula, the Jackal’s latest cat’s paw against our hero. With the Gwen Stacy clone and the ear-plugged & blind-folded Ned Leeds nearby, Spider-Man is lapsing into unconsciousness from the slash he received on the back of his head from the drugged talons of the Jackal.

splas 149At last revealing why he has always been undetectable by Spider-Man’s spider sense, the villain removed his mask to reveal that he is really Professor Miles Warren, Peter Parker’s fatherly mentor and academic advisor for years at Empire State University. (Professor Warren had been a supporting character in Spider-Man stories since 1965.)

Peter finally succumbs to unconsciousness, and when he comes to, he is in the basement of an abandoned tenement building in lower Manhattan. He is bound to a table by specially-constructed straps and is alone with the Jackal, who is sitting on a nearby stool. Continue reading

CAROL’S CHRISTMAS (2021)

carol's christmasCAROL’S CHRISTMAS (2021) – Balladeer’s Blog’s Twelfth Annual Christmas Carol-A-Thon continues with this independent flick filmed in Las Vegas for $500,000.00. Special thank you to reader Lee Anne, who in the past recommended 2nd Chance For Christmas, a fun Christmas Carol variation. At the other extreme, Lee Anne wryly recommended Carol’s Christmas, a ridiculous venture that sucks so badly it’s not even So Bad It’s Good.

This was written and directed by David S Womack, who apparently felt he could be “deep” in treating us to A Very Rian Johnson Christmas by having our main character Carol Scrooge get shot to death at the end by Fred, who is her stalker in this film, not Scrooge’s nephew.

Oh, did I subvert expectations by not adding a spoiler warning like I usually do? Well then, I must be a creative genius by the standards of Carol’s Christmas. After all, simply doing something unexpected is brilliant, right? Something you WILL expect is that Amy Pascal’s name shows up in the closing credits.

masc graveyard smallerRegular readers know I’m open to all kinds of dark interpretations of A Christmas Carol, but unlike efforts like the year 2000 Brazilian film in which Scrooge is a drug dealer, Carol’s Christmas is not a flawed but artful dive into a holiday story which gets distorted by grim realities.

No, the overwhelming majority of the movie plays out as a modern day Las Vegas version of the familiar tale, right up through Scrooge’s morning after conversion scene. Carol Scrooge never gets to make things right, however, because as soon as she sets foot outside her door Christmas morning, Fred is waiting and shoots her to death at close range for always rejecting his requests for a date.

It’s the sort of childish twist you could overlook from a teenage filmmaker who thinks they’re being artistic by doing this. Actually, it’s as pointless as producing a modern day adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, but instead of the tragic couple killing themselves at the end they whip out weapons and kill off the supporting cast. BEST OF MAY 2021

Balladeer’s Blog’s end of year retrospective continues with this look at May’s best.

*** People who insist other people must lose their jobs and/or be driven from an entire profession for expressing opinions that supposedly “offend” or “marginalize” entire groups do not speak for those entire groups, they speak only for DEMOCRATS.

FUZZ (1972) – MOVIE REVIEW

fuzzFUZZ (1972) – This movie is still marketed as if it’s a vehicle for Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch but in reality it’s an ensemble movie. And not a very good one. Fuzz is based on the 22nd book – of nearly 60 – in the 87th Precinct series of police novels by Ed McBain aka Evan Hunter. The books were set in the fictional city of Isola, but this movie is set in Boston.

The novel on which this film is based was published in 1968. The book series started in 1956 and had been tried as a television series titled 87th Precinct from 1961-1962. The novels were still being churned out by the original author into the 21st Century, with many characters retained throughout this long run.

fuzz posterObviously, the science and public image of law enforcement has gone through many, many changes over the decades. The movie Fuzz and its source novel reflect the stylish cynicism and gritty realism of police stories from the period.

The film also attempted to sprinkle in elements of irreverent humor and bawdy sexual hijinks, like it was trying to be F*U*Z*Z in the style of the movie version of M*A*S*H. Unfortunately, the finished product is disjointed and aimless. Let’s take a look at the cast of characters: Continue reading

CHRISTMAS CAROL WITH THE RUFUS ROSE MARIONETTES (1948)

Rufus Rose working on one of his handmade puppets.

Rufus Rose working on one of his handmade puppets.

Balladeer’s Blog’s Twelfth Annual Christmas Carol-A-Thon continues! This version of the Dickens classic featured beautifully crafted marionettes as all of the characters. It’s a shame this baby was in black & white since the costumes for the marionettes could have really dazzled in color I’ll bet. It also makes you wonder why more puppet versions of the Yuletide tale weren’t mounted during the Golden Age of Television.

ABC broadcast this holiday treat on December 24th, 1948 when televisions were still comparatively rare. Manipulation of marionettes is not easy but the legendary Rufus Rose Marionettes were the perfect choice for the task in that era. Rufus, best known as Howdy Doody’s off-camera operator directed this program along with his wife Margo. Continue reading
