A WORD FROM THE UNMOURNED

Are these the ghosts of a generation of African-American teens who go unmourned by the Sharptons and Farrakhans of the world?

Are these the ghosts of a generation of African-American teens who go unmourned by the Sharptons and Farrakhans of the world?

Hatemongers like Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan (who still claims Jews were behind the 9-11 attacks) only mourn the loss of African-American teens who have criminal records. They have repeatedly made it clear that they care nothing at all about the countless African-American teens killed by OTHER African-American teens every year.

Even by the figures from Obama’s own Justice Department over 90% of the murders of African-American teens are committed by OTHER African-American teens. The Sharptons and Farrakhans of the world have nothing to say about this but insist on spinning folk tales and outright myths about convenience-store thug Mike Brown and Trayvon “History of Violence and Law-Breaking” Martin.

An entire generation of intelligent and promising African-Americans is being snuffed out by African-American criminals yet only the criminals are mourned by the Sharptons and Farrakhans. It seems to Al and Louis “Black Lives Matter” ONLY if they were breaking the law. To Sharpton and Farrakan the millions upon millions of law-abiding African-American victims of African-American criminals apparently don’t deserve protection from the thugs preying on them.   Continue reading

WHAT KIND OF SAVAGES THINK IT’S OKAY FOR ADULT MALES TO MARRY EIGHT YEAR OLD GIRLS?

A SYMBOL OF HATRED, SLAVERY, MASS RAPE AND INFANTICIDE.

A SYMBOL OF HATRED, SLAVERY, MASS RAPE AND INFANTICIDE.

Oh, yeah … Muslim savages. This “custom” is considered okay in the homophobic and misogynistic religion called Islam because it was practiced by the blood-soaked child rapist named Muhammad, Islam’s founder who died centuries ago.

One of the most recent victims of this barbaric behavior was an unfortunate 8 year old girl in Yemen, who died from internal injuries at the hands of her 40 year old husband on their wedding night. I don’t know how dead inside you have to be to rape a little girl but religious mania is beyond explanation I guess. Muhammad was considered “the perfect man” in Islam and since he participated in the raping of children it’s used as justification for other Muslim males to indulge their sickness.

Yemen’s previous law making 17 the legal age for women to be married was repealed as being “un-Islamic.” I guess in the sense that it was a rational law that reflected the modern world. Rational thought and all things modern seem to be loathed by Islam.  Continue reading

MALDOROR 8: AN INSATIABLE THIRST FOR THE INFINITE

Balladeer’s Blog continues its poem by poem examination of the 1868 French language work The Songs of Maldoror by Isidore Ducasse, the self-titled Count de Lautreamont.

AN INSATIABLE THIRST FOR THE INFINITE

Maldoror 8This section begins with Maldoror wandering through the darkness of the night, at times nostalgically recalling the terror and dread with which he used to regard the sounds and distant impressions of the overnight hours. But that was when he was merely a human child and his mother would try to calm him as he huddled beneath his blankets listening fearfully to the savage or vaguely sinister sounds made by the beasts who roam the night.

She would explain away the horror of the distant noises by assuring him that the beasts meant no harm, but were instead filled with an insatiable thirst for the infinite, the same thirst she sensed in the son she was trying to comfort. Now, fully grown and more than human Maldoror prowls the night as one of the beasts making noises that terrify others in their beds. Supreme in his element our narrator blissfully describes some of the nightly tableaus that catch his attention. Continue reading

COLLEGE BASKETBALL POSTSEASON ACTION CONTINUES

*** ACCA ***

Arlington Baptist PatriotsFIRST SEMIFINAL – The first semifinal in the National Championship Tournament of the ACCA (Association of Christian College Athletics) was played between the Defending Champions – the ARLINGTON BAPTIST COLLEGE PATRIOTS – and the HILLSDALE FREE WILL BAPTIST COLLEGE SAINTS. The Patriots could just smell a return to the title game and had compiled a 45-31 lead by the Halftime buzzer. In the 2nd Half every run by the trailing Saints was answered by another run by Arlington Baptist College. The Patriots thus kept Hillsdale at arm’s-length the rest of the way and ultimately won by a final score of 95-77. Up next Arlington Baptist tries to make it back-to-back national titles in the ACCA!

Faith Baptist Bible College Eagles logoSECOND SEMIFINAL – The battle for the other slot in the title game pitted the FAITH BAPTIST BIBLE COLLEGE EAGLES against the heavily favored DALLAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE CRUSADERS. The Eagles faced a very early 10-7 deficit but a 17-2 run put them out in front of the Crusaders. After that the lead went back and forth with Dallas Christian College clinging to a tight 42-40 lead at Halftime. After the break the lead was exchanged several more times before Faith Baptist got a bit of separation, then made clutch free-throws late to preserve a 92-85 upset win. Josh Bray led the Eagles with 28 points while teammates Jon Luke Talton, Ryan Kupferschmid and Aaron Leistikow notched Double Doubles. Continue reading

MERCHANT SHIPS (424-421 B.C.): ANCIENT GREEK COMEDY

Ancient Greek Merchant Ship

Ancient Greek Merchant Ship

Balladeer’s Blog presents another examination of an ancient Greek political satire. In this case it is one of those works of Aristophanes which have survived only in very fragmentary condition.

MERCHANT SHIPS

Merchant Ships was written and publicly staged in approximately 424 B.C. to 421 B.C. according to the available data. It was another of Aristophanes’ comedies protesting the pointlessness of the Greek city-states warring among themselves instead of uniting against the encroachments of the Persian Empire.

I can’t help but view this particular comedy in light of my own country’s current plight of having the rival criminal gangs called the Democratic and Republican Parties pointlessly rob the country blind and run it into the ground while virtually ignoring external threats.

In this comedy the captains of two separate merchant ships – one from Athens and one from their foe Sparta – have grown weary of the pointless conflict and make a separate peace with each other. They and their crew members get to spend the play enjoying the food and drink from their cargoes and living out a metaphorical return to the prosperous days before the Peloponnesian War when peace reigned among the various Greek city-states.

Franchises aka Merchant Ships

For a modern-day adaptation (as opposed to a straight translation) the situation could be depicted by having a Chick Fil-A restaurant right next to a Starbucks coffee shop. The managers and employees of these stereotypically Republican (Chick Fil-A) and stereotypically Democratic (Starbucks) establishments could grow tired of the political feuding, especially since both political parties often call for boycotts of the opposing business.   Continue reading
