ASK BALLADEER’S BLOG

JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF HOW LIBERALS ARE AS FLAWED AS CONSERVATIVES.

JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF HOW LIBERALS ARE AS FLAWED AS CONSERVATIVES.

A self-identified Liberal asked:

Q: You’re clearly not a Conservative so why do you dump on Liberals, too?

A: Because American Liberals are hilariously pretentious asses, cowardly hypocrites and pompous, insecure snobs. They also have no trace of individuality but are simply many mouths with a single mind. American Liberals have no identity outside of their political opinions and are therefore Liberals first and human beings second. 1960’s generation Liberals are the worst because the opinions that those ridiculous poseurs think are so innovative and daring are nothing more than the outdated conventional wisdom from FIVE DECADES AGO. TOP 3 GAMES IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK EIGHT

football_boxer_puppy_poster-p228465298624353108tdcp_400With 7 weeks already gone in this year’s college football calendar, the league is starting to shape up as strong teams rise to the top while the weaker ones fall further behind to the leading pack. And then there are the average teams that are not far from the leaders, but also not too distant from those lagging behind, giving both the leaders and those behind something to smile about. As the games in Week 8 begin, many, if not all, teams will be looking for a win, either to stay ahead of the rest or to play catch up to the leaders. For the following three matchups, however, the college bets are bound to be exponentially high because the stakes of the games are equally, making them the top three games of Week 8. Below are these top games in descending order:

GAME 1: #5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. #2 Florida State Seminoles

DATE: Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014

TIME: 8:00 PM ET

VENUE: Doak Campbell Stadium (Tallahassee, Florida)

Simply put, this matchup has all the hallmarks of a game-of-the-season written all over it. Continue reading

CROSS OF THE SEVEN JEWELS (1987): HORROR FILM REVIEW

Halloween month continues at Balladeer’s Blog!

Cross of the Seven Jewels 1CROSS OF THE SEVEN JEWELS (1987) – Where has this film been all my life? I want to have this movie’s children and I’m a guy!

Cross of the Seven Jewels is easily the worst and weirdest werewolf movie I’ve ever seen. Forget The Werewolf of Woodstock, forget Face of the Screaming Werewolf, forget Werewolf vs the Yeti and all of Paul Naschy’s other lycanthropy flicks. You can even forget the muddy-faced wolfman from Dracula, Prisoner of Frankenstein. Marco Antonio Andolfi starred in this film under the name Eddy Endolf plus wrote and directed it as well.

Andolfi was openly influenced by Paul Naschy’s werewolf films from Spain, but produced a cinematic mess that captured neither the eroticism of Naschy’s Waldemar Daninsky movies nor their goofy charm. Marco’s depiction of a werewolf is a bit … eccentric … and can only be described as “just a little something for the laaaadieeessss.”

Personally, I would have titled this film

Personally, I would have titled this film “Ya Call THAT a Werewolf?” but I’m kind of weird.

When Andolfi transforms into a wolfman he somehow loses his clothes (which illogically reappear on his body when he reverts back to human form) and he sprouts long bushy hair in only a few places. The first place is around his face with his mouth left bare, making him look like he’s wearing a big hair-mask with eye-holes. The second place would be his hands and the third place is his crotch, which conveniently becomes bushy enough to block out the sight of his genitals. The rest of his well-built body is butt naked.  Continue reading

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY: A BALLADEER’S BLOG INTERVIEW

democratic party donkeyWelcome back to Balladeer’s Blog, the only site on the web that equally criticizes both Liberals and Conservatives. Here is the transcript of my recent interview with the Democratic Party Jackass, the symbol of their organization.

Balladeer’s Blog: Right off the top, what are your thoughts on the upcoming midterms?

Democratic Party: Well, our greatest weakness is being associated with Barack Obama, who is an albatross we’ll try to increasingly separate ourselves from. I gather you noticed how some of our Congressional candidates are even refusing to say if they voted for Little Barry in 2008 and 2012.

BB: I have, but don’t worry – the networks have been avoiding covering that fact.

DP: (laughs) Yeah, thankfully the Republicans were so stupid they decided long ago not to spend the money necessary to keep up with us in the media arms race. Anything at all damaging to our candidates is always confined to the boondocks of Fox News Channel and talk radio.  Continue reading

GOTHIC HORROR: THREE MORE NEGLECTED TALES

Halloween month continues here at Balladeer’s Blog! Recently I examined three neglected Gothic horror stories. Here are three more that deserve more attention than they generally receive.

DON'T BELIEVE SOURCES THAT TRY TO PASS THIS OFF AS A TRUE STORY.

DON’T BELIEVE SOURCES THAT TRY TO PASS THIS OFF AS A TRUE STORY.

THE SQUAW HOLLOW SENSATION (1879) – Author unknown. This macabre tale from America should be as well-known as works like The House of the Seven Gables or The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The Squaw Hollow Sensation deals with an Aztec mummy and was first published in serialized form in the California newspaper The Mountain Democrat in 1879.

The story was originally presented as if it actually happened but as it becomes more grisly and fantastic the reader realizes it’s fictional. When gold mining uncovers an Aztec tomb in California an obsessed scientist conducts macabre experiments to try to revive Sethos, one of the entombed mummies. Some things are better left alone, however as we learn in a tale that includes wandering Aztec ghosts, twisted experimentation on the bodies of Sethos’ fellow mummies and a catalogue of atrocities.   Continue reading

COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM OCTOBER 11th

* HEADLINES *

Warner Memorial U Royals helmetTHE ROYALS RULE THE WORLD – The NAIA’s WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS played host to the NCAA Division TWO’s KENTUCKY WESLEYAN COLLEGE PANTHERS and, as NAIA teams are so inclined to do, upset the higher division team. Royals Head Coach Rod Shafer, the master of preparation, had his team firing on all cylinders and sent the Panthers home with a 48-45 loss in an undeniable Instant Classic!

Fort Lewis SkyhawksNUMBER TWO TAKES A FALL – In the NCAA Division Two the FORT LEWIS COLLEGE SKYHAWKS toppled the 2nd ranked team in the nation – the CSU-PUEBLO THUNDERWOLVES. PULP HERO G-8 AND HIS BATTLE ACES: STORIES FIFTY-TWO TO FIFTY-FOUR

Satan Paints the SkyBalladeer’s Blog resumes its examination of the neglected Pulp Hero G-8. This is a story-by- story look at the adventures of this World War One American fighter pilot who – along with his two wingmen the Battle Aces – took on various supernatural and super- scientific menaces thrown at the Allied Powers by the Central Powers of Germany, Austria- Hungary and the Ottoman Muslim Turks.

G-8 was created by Robert J Hogan in 1933 when World War One was still being called simply the World War or the Great War. Over the next eleven years Hogan wrote 110 stories featuring the adventures of G-8, the street-smart pug Nippy Weston and the brawny giant Bull Martin. The regular cast was rounded out by our hero’s archenemy Doktor Krueger, by Battle, G-8’s British manservant and by our hero’s girlfriend R-1: an American spy/ nurse whose real name, like G-8’s was never revealed.

Satan Paints the Sky52. SATAN PAINTS THE SKY (January 1938) – Introducing an all-new villain for G-8 and his Battle Aces to take on! Baron Von Todschmecker, a haughty German aristocrat who is determined to see the Central Powers defeat the “assembled rabble” of the Allied Powers. Keeping the Baron forever unhinged: the remains of a knife lodged in his skull in a location too delicate to be surgically removed.  Continue reading
