DUNE AND ALIEN MOVIES AS ANALOGIES FOR AMERICA
With the latest attempt to do justice to Frank Herbert’s sci fi classic Dune hitting U.S. theaters here’s a look at Dune and the Alien film series as analogies for 21st Century America.
Balladeer’s Blog remains the only site on the web that equally criticizes both Democrats and Republicans, depending on which party has been committing greater offenses at the moment.
Reader reaction to my blog post which depicted America and our corrupt political parties as part of the Alien franchise (HERE) was impressive so here is a tongue in cheek look at the U.S. as part of the Dune franchise.
First, my traditional opening to such posts:
“We’re a world of 7 billion people, 10 billion blogs and 20 billion political poses.”
THE FREMEN – These are American VOTERS who heroically endure the harsh, ugly conditions that the hopelessly corrupt and outdated Houses have imposed on the nation.
The bizarre throwback to a feudal culture resulting from the destructive, self-serving policies of those two Houses has become more and more apparent with each passing year. The gap between the haves and have-nots was never clearer than in the past nine months.
Still the Fremen soldier on, trying to eke out a living and preserve what few of their liberties remain to them while striking back at their callous and uncaring oppressors whenever they can. The only hope for the future rests with the Fremen/ Voters, certainly not the would-be aristocrats of the venal Houses. Continue reading

EXPLAINING “LET’S GO BRANDON” FOR OVERSEAS READERS
Blustering demagogue
Here at Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog I often hear from overseas readers requesting clarification on some of the obscure in-jokes of America’s political culture. This time around it’s regarding why “Let’s go Brandon!” is the ultimate up yours to corrupt Joe Biden and to his corporate media sycophants.
Several weeks ago “Fuck Joe Biden” became the frequently heard roar of the crowds at college football games and then spread to other events, because, well, it’s no secret that Joe Biden is corrupt, demented, blood soaked and much worse. At a recent NASCAR event, Brandon Brown won the race and as he was being interviewed the stands were roaring with the chant of “Fuck Joe Biden!”
However, corporate media shill Kelli Stavast, scrambling in 1984 fashion to protect Joe Biden as Big Brother, claimed that the crowd was really shouting “Let’s go Brandon!” Not even Biden supporters were stupid enough to believe that, and so things snowballed to the point where “Let’s go Brandon!” became a way of saying “Fuck Joe Biden!” while simultaneously poking at the slavish political bias of the corporate media.
Let’s go Brandon has even been set to music and became a hit on iTunes and elsewhere. Sales of “Let’s go Brandon!” t-shirts and other merchandise have gone through the roof. Online videos expressing the meme have been piling up, like the “exercise” video below, part of the Let’s go Brandon challenge:

KUNG FAUX (2003) – FORGOTTEN TELEVISION
KUNG FAUX (2003) – Created and crafted by Mic Neumann, this half-hour comedy series was basically a hip hop version of old movies and television shows that overdubbed non-comedies with comedic dialogue, music and sound effects. In Kung Faux‘s case it featured re-edited and highly stylized martial arts films from the 1970s overdubbed with contemporary music and a hip hop comedic sensibility.
Though Kung Faux brands this treatment as “dubtitling” as a nod to dubbed and subtitled dialogue, the approach debuted on vintage television shows like Fractured Flickers (1963), in which celebrities would dub improvised comedic dialogue over old silent movies.
The theatrical release What’s Up, Tiger Lily? (1966), Woody Allen’s overdubbing of a Japanese spy movie to make it a battle over an egg salad recipe, is still the best known of these ventures. Not even serials were exempt from such treatment, with my favorite example being Firesign Theater’s production Hot Shorts (1984) featuring items like Sperm Bank Bandits in which the comedy team inserted comical dialogue over old serials like Canadian Mounties vs Atomic Invaders. BIDEN, CUBAN AND CHINESE REGIMES CONTINUE THEIR EFFORTS TO SUPPRESS DISSENT, PLUS MORE …
Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog welcomes you! It’s fascinating to see how the Biden Regime, the Cuban Regime and the Chinese Regime all unite in hatred of people who a) Protest for freedom and b) Wave American flags. Dissidents from Hong Kong to Cuba to Washington DC this past January 6th show courageous commitment to human rights and dignity, all while waving American flags. Biden and the others also have an ugly, fascistic way of labeling protestors “insurrectionists” too.
(Pssst! Democrats! You’ve made “insurrectionists” the new “deplorables” or “nasty women”, a label people wryly adopt to mock how over the top and inappropriate it is.)
Biden is fine with Mexican drug cartels and human traffickers coming and going across our forever-unsecured southern border but his ugly regime is opposed to Cuban dissidents entering the U.S. I think we can all imagine the corrupt and senile Joe Biden’s response to the new Cuban boat people. He would say something like “These people would not be likely Democrat voters so they MUST NOT enter the U.S. on my watch! They’re waving that same red, white and blue Insurrection Flag that those January 6th protestors were carrying!”
The Biden, Cuban and Chinese Regimes really hate this odd piece of cloth for some reason.
*** The Biden-Cuba-China Axis are standing shoulder-to-shoulder in another way – The Biden Regime, through its State Department poseur Blinken, has invited in U.N. figures from their Human Rights Committee, a committee which includes CUBA AND CHINA for the ultimate LMAO moment! Yes, representatives from genocidal, slave labor-using China and brutally oppressive Cuba will be among the people that the Biden Regime wants to come in and “impartially” criticize alleged systemic racism in the U.S. Uh. Yeah.

*** Meanwhile, the clueless buffoons called Congressional Republicans continue claiming they will be investigating the obvious corruption of Hunter Biden, Underboss of the Biden Crime Family. I guess this means Hunter’s legal troubles are over, because, believe me, when clownish Congressional Republicans say they’re investigating you that means you and your attorneys can exchange high fives and sleep the sleep of the saved, knowing you will never face any consequences for your actions. “DO YOU NOW OR HAVE YOU EVER OWNED A LEGO SET?” BIDEN’S GOONS SINK TO NEW LOW
Who’s afraid of Lego models of the U.S. Capitol building? Democrats are. Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog has watched the intolerant fascists called Democrats go from their absurd “Russian Collusion” nonsense to their even more absurd “Ukrainegate” gibberish to their utterly brainless “Insurrection” drivel about the protests at the Capitol. You remember the Capitol, where mobs of Democrat protestors have in the past barged into offices and even set off explosives in restrooms, yet which Democrats now pretend to revere for its “symbolism.” Maybe they need to tell their attack dogs/ fellow Democrats at the National Archives, who love to decide what aspects of the Capitol represent alleged White Supremacy each week.
Before becoming an Independent Voter I spent most of my life as a Democrat and believe me, Democrats despise the Capitol and its “symbolism” and regard people who DO revere it as patriotic hicks and rednecks. The protest at the Capitol earlier this year is being used as a political stick just like the “Kids in Cages” which Democrats treated like an atrocity under Trump but which they apparently support under Biden. “Silence is consent” Democrats tell us, and Biden has far more Kids in Cages than either Trump OR Obama had.
So, anyway, this “Insurrection” nonsense from the Democrats is as hypocritical as their Kids in Cages phoniness and as absurd as their Russian Collusion witch hunt. The Biden Regime has sunk to a new low recently with the way that they act like it’s sinister that a protestor owned a Lego model of the U.S. Capitol. YES, A LEGO MODEL OF THE U.S. CAPITOL! A LEGO MODEL WHICH CAN AND HAS BEEN PURCHASED ONLINE BY COUNTLESS PEOPLE!
Will Exhibit A from the Biden Regime be a similar Lego set with Lego-constructed protestors added to it? As so many have noted: First, the FBI, presumably “following orders,” seized a toy. Then the FBI told everyone it seized a toy. Then Democrat media outlets BREATHLESSLY REPORTED that fact with paranoid and sinister inferences. Joe Biden is the ideal face for Clownworld. Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog decided to take a break this time from examining Joe Biden’s damage to the working class and the poor, to his KIDS IN CAGES which far outnumber anything seen under Obama and Trump, to his ongoing scandals and humiliations, and simply post about his well-deserved ridicule over his repeated inability to climb stairs.
Don’t snivel to me about it, Democrats. As if you wouldn’t run with footage of a Republican president doing this. (Think of Ford in the 1970s.) And considering that you hate-filled zealots paniced over every single thing de facto Third Party President Donald Trump said and did, and the way you flooded the nation with bizarre jokes implying he wanted to have sex with one of his daughters, you trashy hypocrites have no standing to beg for “decorum” when it comes to the Great Pretender.
