LOVE GODDESS CASEY JAMES HOSTS ANOTHER LOOK AT BAD MOVIES

Casey James, the Official Movie Hostess of Balladeer's Blog

Casey James, the Official Movie Hostess of Balladeer’s Blog

Special thanks once again to Balladeer’s Blog’s Official Movie Hostess, the incomparable Casey James! Casey has a well-earned reputation as one of the most beautiful women in the world. She was kind enough to take some time away from her busy day to host another look at some very strange movies from the cinematic hinterlands.

THE MAN WITHOUT A BODY (1957) – Unbelievably bad movie which will have you smacking your head against the wall with its hopelessly flawed logic and truck-sized plotholes. A dying tycoon has a brain tumor so he wants a healthy brain to replace it. For absolutely no reason he thinks this new brain will carry on his consciousness. Making even less sense is the fact that he wants the brain of the long-dead Nostrodamus to be the replacement organ! Making the least sense of all is the fact that his graverobbers find Nostrodamus’ brain INTACT after hundreds of years! All this plus a mad scientist who has disembodied monkey heads and a huge eyeball on his laboratory wall.  FOR MY FULL-LENGTH REVIEW CLICK HERE: https://glitternight.com/2010/11/13/the-man-without-a-body-1957/ Continue reading

EXAMINING THE FAILURE OF OBAMA’S PRESIDENCY: COMPARING PRE-OBAMA WITH NOW

As always Balladeer’s Blog is the only site on the internet that criticizes both American Liberals and American Conservatives equally. As repulsive as George W Bush was it’s interesting to compare the state of the country when he was getting ready to leave office and the weak, inept and crooked little man named Barack Obama took over. I know Little Barry and his self-lobotomized, unquestioning followers love to blame everything on Obama’s predecessor Bush but I think that’s as wrong-headed as when the detestable Ronald Reagan always blamed everything on his predecessor Jimmy Carter. (Who in turn blamed his predecessor Gerald Ford).

These white-collar criminals SEEK OUT the presidency – it’s not like jury duty. They don’t get a notice in the mail telling them they’re required to be the next president of the country. And they can’t take credit for any of the good things in the economy, etc if they won’t accept blame for any of the bad things.

At any rate enjoy this chart which is Exhibit 999,873 in terms of proof that Obama is a disaster:  Continue reading

ANCIENT SCIENCE FICTION: THE MEN OF THE MOON (1809) BY WASHINGTON IRVING

Washington Irving giving us his sexiest come-hither stare.

Washington Irving giving us his sexiest come-hither stare.

THE MEN OF THE MOON (1809) – Several decades before H.G. Wells would use his fictional invasion from Mars in War of the Worlds as an allegorical condemnation of colonialism the American author Washington Irving beat him to it. In Irving’s work The Men of the Moon a technologically advanced race from the moon conquered the Earth and treated its inhabitants the way that European and Muslim colonialists treated the indigenous inhabitants of the areas they subjugated.

Irving tongue-in- cheekly called his invaders from the moon “Lunatics” and depicted them as green-skinned humanoids with tails and one eye each instead of two. Their most bizarre feature is the fact that they carry their detached heads tucked under one arm with a spinal column “cord” attaching the head to the body. For refreshment the moon men drink liquid nitrous oxide.  Continue reading
