DROVERS MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SOCCER PICKED TO WIN THE CONFERENCE

usao_drovers_150px3The UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS are picked to win the Sooner Athletic Conference title this year … and that applies to both the Men’s AND the Women’s teams.

The men and women are led by Coach Jimmy Hampton (previously profiled here at Balladeer’s Blog) and open their season with a road game on August 27th. They will face the Saints of Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. The Drovers are hoping for a 7th straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament.

MORE COLLEGE BASEBALL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS CROWNED

Master's College Mustangs logoGOLDEN STATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The MASTER’S COLLEGE MUSTANGS lived up to their number 1 seeding, taking the GSAC tournament title with an 8-3 victory over the 3rd seeded SAN DIEGO CHRISTIAN EAGLES. MAY 1ST COLLEGE BASEBALL CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT RESULTS

TRINITY CHRISTIAN TROLLCHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – Yesterday was Day Two of the CCAC conference tourney. The 6th seeded TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS stayed alive by stunning the 2nd seeded OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS, sending them home after a very memorable 5-2 game.   ###   In a 5 over 3 upset the ST FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS took down the ROBERT MORRIS (IL) EAGLES in a 4-3 Instant Classic.   ###   The top seeded JUDSON EAGLES stayed unbeaten in the tournament by eliminating the (4) PURDUE-NORTH CENTRAL PANTHERS by a tight score of 5-4.

USAO Drovers BIGSOONER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS came in at the 4 spot yesterday and won a 6-5 game for the ages against the 5th seeded ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY HILLCATS.   ###   Meanwhile the top seeded OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY STARS had their hands full with the 8th seeded MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EVANGELS before emerging with a 4-2 victory.   ###   The (2) LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY CHAPARRALS downed the (7) ST GREGORY’S CAVALIERS  3-1.   ###   And the 3 seeds, the OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON survived a 6-5 game with the Continue reading

MIKE ROSS: UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS BASEBALL COACH

CHICKASHA – Already well underway, the 2011 Drover baseball season is shaping up fairly well so far for Coach Mike Ross and his team.

A solid season to date is due in part to senior pitcher Caleb Martin, who has broken two school records already this season. Martin now holds the career wins record with 25 and career strikeouts record with 198.

USAO DROVERS BASEBALL TRIUMPHS OVER THE CAVALIERS

CHICKASHA – With 10 strikeouts thrown, sophomore pitcher David Garcia led the Drovers to their 10th win of the season and a first Sooner Athletic Conference victory.

Garcia, who is now 2-2, pitched the first seven innings of the nine-inning game against Saint Gregory’s University. In the 29 batters he faced, he gave up just four hits and one run.

SPOT-CHECK: HOW ARE THE USAO DROVERS DOING?

University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers – MEN – The men’s team is sitting at 8-11 overall, 4-9 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Just yesterday the Drovers defeated St Gregory’s 81-61 to end a three-game losing streak. RSU HILLCATS DEFEAT LADY CAVALIERS

Claremore, Okla. – The Rogers State women’s basketball team cruised to its second straight Sooner Athletic Conference victory with a 69-47 rout over St. Gregory’s on Thursday evening at the Claremore Expo.
