COLLEGE BASKETBALL CONFERENCE TOURNAMENTS: DAY 3 RECAP

jamestown college jimmiesNORTH STAR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION – There was only one game in this league’s tournament yesterday and it pitted the top seeded UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES against the 6 seeds, the CITY VALLEY STATE VIKINGS. The Jimmies were in control for the entire game and by Halftime had compiled a 48-31 lead. After the break UJ coasted to a 94-65 victory and moved on to the next round. Brequan Tucker’s 17 points led the Jimmies.

Montreat Cavaliers logoAPPALACHIAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The 9th seeded MONTREAT COLLEGE CAVALIERS upset the number 8 seeds, the SAINT ANDREWS UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS, in an Opening Round game. The Cavaliers were chasing the Knights the bulk of the game, trailing them 26-20 after a defensive-minded 1st Half. After the break it was more of the same until a 9-3 run to close out Regulation let Montreat tie the game at 61-61. In Overtime the Cavaliers emerged with a 75-68 triumph. MORE COLLEGE BASEBALL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS CROWNED

Master's College Mustangs logoGOLDEN STATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The MASTER’S COLLEGE MUSTANGS lived up to their number 1 seeding, taking the GSAC tournament title with an 8-3 victory over the 3rd seeded SAN DIEGO CHRISTIAN EAGLES. Along the way to the conference crown the Mustangs also defeated Concordia (CA) and Arizona Christian University.

MAY 1ST COLLEGE BASEBALL CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT RESULTS

TRINITY CHRISTIAN TROLLCHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – Yesterday was Day Two of the CCAC conference tourney. The 6th seeded TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS stayed alive by stunning the 2nd seeded OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY TIGERS, sending them home after a very memorable 5-2 game.   ###   In a 5 over 3 upset the ST FRANCIS (IL) FIGHTING SAINTS took down the ROBERT MORRIS (IL) EAGLES in a 4-3 Instant Classic.   ###   The top seeded JUDSON EAGLES stayed unbeaten in the tournament by eliminating the (4) PURDUE-NORTH CENTRAL PANTHERS by a tight score of 5-4.

USAO Drovers BIGSOONER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS came in at the 4 spot yesterday and won a 6-5 game for the ages against the 5th seeded ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY HILLCATS.   ###   Meanwhile the top seeded OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY STARS had their hands full with the 8th seeded MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EVANGELS before emerging with a 4-2 victory.   ###   The (2) LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY CHAPARRALS downed the (7) ST GREGORY’S CAVALIERS  3-1.   ###   And the 3 seeds, the OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON survived a 6-5 game with the Continue reading

COLLEGE BASKETBALL CONFERENCE TOURNAMENTS CONTINUE IN THE NAIA

Huntington College Foresters logoCROSSROADS LEAGUE – The upset of the evening last night came when the 8th seeded HUNTINGTON COLLEGE FORESTERS stunned the 1 seeds, the INDIANA WESLEYAN WILDCATS, by a score of 81-69. The Foresters faithful will be talking about this game for years to come!   ###   In the 7 spot the MARIAN KNIGHTS, the reigning NAIA football champions, likewise shocked the prognosticators by taking down the 2nd seeded GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS  62-54.   ###   The (3) BETHEL (IN) PILOTS (as in riverboat pilots) performed as expected, defeating the (6) ST FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS in an 89-73 affair.   ###   … And in the typically tight 5 vs 4 matchup the (5) TAYLOR TROJANS beat the (4) SPRING ARBOR COUGARS in a 70-62 upset.

menlo college oaks logoCALIFORNIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE – In the opening round of the CPC tournament the 4th seeded MENLO COLLEGE OAKS let a healthy lead slip through their fingers, allowing the 5 seeds, the SIMPSON RED HAWKS, to force overtime.
