DAKOTA ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The Jamestown College Jimmies took two games yesterday, defeating the Dakota State Trojans 12-2 and then going one run better by taking down the Dickinson State Blue Hawks 13-2. Meanwhile the Minot State Beavers topped the VCS Vikings 19-9 but then fell to the top-seeded Mayville State Comets 15-10. (Do they have pitching coaches in the DAC?)
The PLNU Sea Lions topped the number one seed, the Cal-Baptist Lancers 5-3, the Azusa Pacific Cougars (roughly 68% of the teams in the NAIA are called the Cougars. I’m kidding!) defeated the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (LOVE that name) 6-4 and the Concordia (CA) Eagles won out against the Biola Eagles (insert my usual remark about how there are too many teams in college sports called Eagles, Tigers, Bulldogs and Wildcats) by a score of 11-8. Must have had DAC pitchers in that game!
SOONER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The Oklahoma Baptist Bison took down the Wayland Baptist Pioneers (whom I still say should change their name to The Flying W’s) 6-1, the Oklahoma City Stars defeated the Oklahoma Christian Eagles 4-3, the Rogers State Hillcats topped the USAO Drovers 18-2 and the LCU Chapparrals also put up 18 against the MACU Evangels.
Neat. My cousin plays there so it’s good to see the team get at least some attention.
Thanks! I think the internet can be a partial equalizer in terms of exposure since the divisions I cover don’t get a lot of television attention generally.
