LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES AND THE 9-11 ATTACKS

Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog, the Open City in an America being torn apart by liberal zombies and conservative zombies, takes a look at a parallel Earth today. As usual this is the only site on the ‘net that is truly non-partisan in its criticism of left-wing and right-wing zealots.

Several years ago a big deal was made over whether or not the 9-11 attacks could have been prevented by greater coordination between elements of the intelligence community. Amid the predictable partisan bickering and childish finger- pointing that characterized the 9-11 Commission and its findings an important consideration was overlooked.

That consideration was how events would have unfolded if the attacks had actually been thwarted. Let’s take a quick look at both the Liberal idiocy and the Conservative idiocy that would have followed.

THE LIBERAL IDIOCY – The Continue reading

LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES AND CLICHES

The sexual tension is palpable!

Welcome back to the Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog, the Open City in an America being torn to pieces by uncompromising liberal and conservative fanatics. As the only site on the ‘net that is truly non- partisan in its criticism of liberal zombies and conservative zombies Balladeer’s Blog now takes a look at the many, many, MANY mindless cliches that mean so much to left-wing and right-wing zealots but that make the rest of us (AKA “adults”) laugh and roll our eyes.

If you can actually use the following expressions without chuckling with contempt you’re a liberal zombie: Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S PRESIDENTIAL PROS AND CONS PART 2 – HARRISON TO OBAMA

America’s first Amish president. I’m kidding!

23. BENJAMIN HARRISON – Motto: “What this country needs right now is a man whose grandfather was president  barely a month before dying.” *** Nickname: Baby McKee’s Grandfather *** Pro: Was the  president who first had the White House wired for electricity.  Con: His administration was slightly overshadowed by the press’ obsession with his terminally “cutesy” grandson, Baby McKee.

24. GROVER CLEVELAND, TERM 2 – Motto: “He’s back … deadlier and more powerful than ever before!” ***  Nickname: King of the Wild Frontier *** Pro: Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S PRESIDENTIAL PROS AND CONS

Fun Fact: Barbara Bush patterned her “look” after Millard Fillmore

In honor of the President’s Day Holiday weekend Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog will present some of my quick takes on each of the 44 men who have stayed one step ahead of the law while occupying the office.

1. GEORGE WASHINGTON – Motto – “Screw taking a salary, just bill ’em outrageously for your expenses!”  *** Nickname: The First Lady of Broadway *** Pro: Established the precedent of stepping down after 2 terms max.  Con: Owned other human beings.

2. JOHN ADAMS – Motto – ” A day without alienating someone is like a day without sunshine.” *** Nickname: Boom-Boom *** Pro: Was almost fanatically honest.  Con: Alienated nearly everyone except his wife Abigail.

3. THOMAS JEFFERSON – Motto: ” What’s with that painting where I look like Bea Arthur?” *** Nickname: The Pompous Hypocrite *** Pro:  Continue reading

LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES AND FENCE-SITTING

Welcome back to the Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog, the Open City in an America increasingly torn apart by Liberal zealots and Conservative zealots. This is the only place on the web that is truly non-partisan in its criticism of the political fanatics of the left and the right. No matter what your political persuasion there’s plenty here that will entertain you because I don’t show any reverence for either side of the spectrum.

America’s Liberals and Conservatives are so out of touch with reality that they actually think everybody has to be either one or the other. Because I make no secret out of the fact that I think they are both equally narrow-minded and equally intolerant of political diversity they sometimes try to call me a “fence-sitter” or a “middle of the roader”. This illustrates their lack of understanding of the terms.

A fence-sitter is someone who refrains from making their feelings on the issues clear. They avoid committing to one side of the question or the other, trying to skate by without angering anyone. Regular readers of Balladeer’s Blog know that I’m not bashful about clearly expressing my views, its just that, like with many other people, I don’t force myself to mindlessly adopt a whole grocery list of opinions just to make sure I conform to either the Liberal mold or the Conservative one.

For example, here’s exactly where I stand on two issues that no “fence-sitter” or “middle of the roader” would clarify their views on. Continue reading

LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES AND THE NEWS

Welcome once again to the Independent Voter site, Balladeer’s Blog, the “Open City” in an America that is becoming increasingly disgusted with the fanatical left-wing zealots and right-wing zealots who are tearing the country to pieces. Liberals, Conservatives and Adults are all welcome here, which is the only place on the web that is truly non-partisan in its criticism of the shrill lunatics from both ends of the political spectrum. Time for another examination of the hypocrisy, immaturity and general self-centeredness common to Liberals and Conservatives alike.

Liberals and Conservatives ONLY want to believe news sources that pander to their pre-conceived notions. (Fox News Channel and talk radio for Conservatives – NPR, CNN, Huffington Post and network news for Liberals) Both Liberals and Conservatives sneer at any unpleasant information they don’t want to believe and smugly dismiss it as propoganda spread by the opposition’s news outlets.

Those of us who Continue reading
