Chapman University PanthersCHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: The CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY PANTHERS defeated the BIRMINGHAM SOUTHERN COLLEGE PANTHERS in two games to win the 2019 title in D3 baseball. Continue reading

NCAA COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CONTINUE

The NCAA Division Three Championship series is set – Chapman U will play BSC. D2 continues.

Colorado Mesa University Mavericks logoDAY THREE, GAME ONE: The top seeds – the COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS – faced the 5th seeded UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES. After a scoreless 1st Inning the Mavericks went up 3-0 in the 2nd.

By the 5th Inning Colorado Mesa University led the Mules by a score of 6-3. The University of Central Missouri pulled to within 6-5 in the 6th Inning but no further, making 6-5 the final tally as well. Pitcher Andrew Morris got the win.  Continue reading

NCAA COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CONTINUE IN DIV TWO & THREE

NCAA DIVISION TWO

uc-sandiegotritonsDAY TWO, GAME ONE: The 6 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT SAN DIEGO TRITONS – took on the 3rd seeded CATAWBA COLLEGE INDIANS. Neither team scored during a Pitcher’s Duel that lasted the first 4 Innings.

The 5th Inning saw the Tritons drive in 5 Runs, which also wound up being the last of the scoring for either team. When all was said and done UC-San Diego won the game 5-0 behind Pitcher Preston Mott. Continue reading

NCCAA WORLD SERIES CHAMPS CROWNED PLUS NAIA, NJCAA & NCAA ACTION

Concordia Michigan Cardinals LOGOCHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The 5 seeds – the CONCORDIA (MI) UNIVERSITY CARDINALS – played the 3rd seeded WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS in the Championship Game of the NCCAA World Series. After 2 scoreless Innings the Cardinals eked out a 1-0 edge in the 3rd.

A Pitcher’s Duel commenced for the next 4 Innings before both teams’ bats caught fire in the 8th. The Royals drove in their only 2 Runs that Inning while Concordia University added 5 to their total, ultimately winning the game 6-2. Billy Blair pitched for the win. * THE CARDINALS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NCCAA BASEBALL *

USAO Drover newDAY TWO, GAME ONE: The 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS did battle with the 10 seeds – the LEWIS-CLARK STATE WARRIORS (should be the Explorers). Neither team got on the scoreboard until the Drovers went on top 1-0 in the 3rd Inning.

USAO expanded their lead to 3-0 in the 5th Inning before the Warriors made it a 3-1 game in the 6th. The 7th and 8th Innings saw the Drovers’ advantage become 5-1 and then 6-1. Lewis-Clark State mustered just 1 more Run in the 9th for a final count of USAO 6  Warriors 2. Colton Williams was on the Mound for 9 Iron Man Innings for the victors.

tennessee wesleyan collegeDAY TWO, GAME TWO: The top seeds – the TENNESSEE WESLEYAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS – took on the 8th seeded INDIANA TECH WARRIORS (should be the Hoplites). By the 3rd Inning the Bulldogs had compiled an impressive 6-0 lead.

Tennessee Wesleyan College added another Run in each remaining at-bat while the Warriors could manage just 1 in the 6th Inning and 2 in the 9th. The Bulldogs won the game 11-3 behind Pitcher Cole Bellair. Continue reading

2019 USCAA COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CHAMPS CROWNED, PLUS NCAA REGIONALS

Penn State Dubois logoCHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The 3 seeds – the PENN STATE AT DUBOIS LIONS – the defending National Champions of USCAA baseball, played the 7th seeded BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE AT ALBANY BOBCATS. The Bobcats did the difficult work for the Lions, having eliminated the top seeded Newport News Apprentice School earlier in the day.

A 2-0 1st Inning lead for PSU-Dubois became a 3-2 Bryant & Stratton-Albany edge in the 2nd. The Lions went back on top 4-3 in the 3rd Inning and extended that to an 8-4 advantage in the 5th. The final Runs came in the 7th and 8th Innings, in which Dubois outscored the Bobcats 4-3 to win the game 12-7. Brandon Orsich threw for the win. * THE LIONS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS OF USCAA BASEBALL *

Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils GOODCENTRAL REGION: DAY ONE – The (5) UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT MONTICELLO BOLL WEEVILS utterly annihilated the (4) MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS to the tune of THIRTEEN to TWO!   ###   The (1) AUGUSTANA (SD) VIKINGS defeated the (8) OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON by a Polo Score of 12-10.   ###       Continue reading

COLLEGE BASEBALL: D2 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS CROWNED

Augustana (SD) VikingsCHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The two teams duking it out for the NCAA Division Two baseball title were the 5 seeds – the AUGUSTANA (SD) UNIVERSITY VIKINGS – and the 2nd seeded COLUMBUS STATE COUGARS.

The first 3 Innings were a Pitcher’s Duel with neither team scoring. The Vikings made it a 2-0 game in the 4th but in the bottom of the 5th Inning the Cougars tied things up at 2-2. Continue reading

FINAL TWO COLLEGE BASEBALL CHAMPIONS OF 2017

*** NCAA DIVISION TWO ***

West Chester University Golden Rams LogoCHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY GOLDEN RAMS and the UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT SAN DIEGO TRITONS were the last two teams standing in the D2 World Series. After the Golden Rams grabbed a quick 1-0 edge in the 1st Inning the Tritons responded by tying the score at 1-1 in the 2nd.

The 3rd Inning saw West Chester University go back on top by a count of 2-1 and this time it took the pursuing UC-San Diego all the way til the 6th Inning to knot up the score at 2-2. The Golden Rams drove in 1 more run in the 7th Inning and 2 more in the 8th for a 5-2 victory for Pitcher Josh McClain. * THE GOLDEN RAMS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NCAA DIVISION TWO * Continue reading

COLLEGE BASEBALL: ANOTHER CHAMPION CROWNED WHILE OTHER SERIES CONTINUE

*** NJCAA DIVISION ONE ***

Chipola College logo BIGCHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The CHIPOLA COLLEGE INDIANS and the SAN JACINTO-NORTH COLLEGE GATORS fought it out for the NJCAA title. The favored Gators started out with a 1-0 1st Inning edge that became 2-1 in the 2nd.

The Indians continued chasing San Jacinto-North College, trailing them 4-3 in the 4th Inning and 5-4 in the 5th before overtaking them for a 7-5 lead in the 6th. From there Chipola College slammed in 4 more runs each in the 7th and 9th Innings to the lone run scored by the Gators. The Indians took the crown by a final tally of FIFTEEN to SIX behind Pitcher Ryan Shauger. * THE INDIANS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NJCAA DIVISION ONE Continue reading
