UN AUTRE MONDE (Another World) – This 1895 story was written by Belgium’s revered pioneer in science fiction – J.H. Rosny, real name Joseph Henri Boex. I went with the French title because a while back I reviewed another work of ancient science fiction that also bore the title Another World.
The author set the story in Swartzendam in the Netherlands. The entire tale is told from the point of view of a mutant humanoid. The mutant – named Karel Ondereet – has violet skin and very fine violet hair. He is very thin and his eyes become more and more opaque as he matures, but he can see through solid objects and far beyond the clouds.
Despite this, his mother is very affectionate toward him as is a “normal” younger sister who comes along years later. His father is wary of the purple-skinned child and always remains aloof.
Karel has amazing reflexes and can move at incredible speeds. Though his arms are much less strong than normal human children, his leg muscles let him easily leap to the upper branches of trees or the roofs of barns and houses. Continue reading
“CRAZY MIKE” HOGAN – Also called Frank Hamilton, Tom Blake and Tom Moore, some sources claim this trigger-happy outlaw’s real name was Thomas Hamilton Blanck. However, researcher Mark Dugan maintained that the man was born Michael Hogan Jr. on October 28th, 1870 in Schenectady, New York. 
A clash with his employers led to the thug quitting and heading west in 1889. One account holds that Mike robbed some cash from those employers before fleeing. He next surfaced out west working as a railroad brakeman before setting out on his infamous True Crime saga.

Yes, before Batman, before Captain America and even before Superman himself, came the Clock, written and drawn by George E. Brenner. The Clock was the first masked crimefighter in comic books, debuting in 1936, while the much more popular Batman didn’t come along until 1939. I’m not pointing that out to diss Batman, but to point out what a shame it is that the Clock seems to have been forgotten by most of the world. JAYBIRD VS WOODPECKER WAR (1888-1889) – First off, let’s make sure to distinguish between JayHAWKS and JayBIRDS. Jayhawks were the anti-slavery forces in Bleeding Kansas during the 1850s. Jaybirds were in 1880s Texas and were the racist white Democrat forces trying to expel the mixed black and white Woodpeckers who had gained power from Republicans during Reconstruction after the Civil War.

While Crooked Joe Biden lied and gasped his way through a barely coherent pack of lies and mistakes last night, Australian news has provided some recent videos breaking down the idiocy of Joe’s Vice President Kackling Kamala Harris. (And remember, both Joe Biden AND Kamala Harris come from a family of slave owners.)
