MINNESOTA VIKINGS: THE ONLY UNBEATEN TEAM IN THE NFL

Minnesota VikingsThe Minnesota Vikings are the only unbeaten team in the NFL, and it is the sort of unexpected surprise that keeps the NFL interesting. No matter how you choose to interpret the NFL odds no one thought it would all come down to the Vikings.

The Vikings had nothing going right for them for the longest time; their 2012 MVP was away for several weeks while the starting quarterback was absent for the whole season.

And taking into account the fact that they had to put Matt Kalil on injured reserve, you cannot help but commend the Vikings for maintaining a certain level of resilience throughout all the turmoil.

Quarterback Sam Bradford said as much. The Vikings have had to overcome a number of obstacles and adversities during the first half of 2016, and still, the players answered the call when it came.

The NFL season is already at a third of the way through, and the Vikings have essentially taken the lead. Everyone thought the Super Bowl champions would eventually stand unopposed, but the Broncos took their first loss on Sunday. Continue reading

Reblogged this on Balladeer’s Blog- Thanks

A Mexican national who has been previously deported at least three times was arrested in connection to a north Texas shooting and crime spree. Two people were murdered during the September 26 rampage.

….

Officials later learned Luviano has a history of prior arrests and has been deported at least three times in the past.

“I would say at this point in time he has no status to be in the United States,” Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Hector Gomez, with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, told Fox.

Luviano has previous convictions for multiple counts of burglary of a vehicle, driving without a license and possession of a controlled substance. The jail records reveal at least two previous felony convictions in Williamson County. Luviano was being held in the Williamson County jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and murder, according to jail records obtained by Breitbart Texas. Has…

LOTT AND PEETE COULD KEEP RAIDERS IN OAKLAND

ronnie-lott-and-rodney-peeteEvery Raiders fan that is determined to keep the team from moving to Las Vegas must now look to Ronnie Lott and Rodney Peete because these retired National Football League Players just might have what it takes to subvert online NFL betting odds by keeping the Raiders rooted in Oakland.

The hype surrounding Lott and Peete revolves around the fact that they understand business. They have also endeared themselves to the political leaders in the area. Admittedly, that doesn’t mean they will succeed, especially seeing as they have no concrete financial plan in place for a billion-dollar football stadium.  Continue reading

A LOOK AT THE PAST AND NEAR FUTURE OF THE PATRIOTS

new-england-patriotsSome first impressions and second takes about the Patriots in the first week reveal a lot about where they may go in the second week. Cincinnati and Seattle came out on top, delivering last-minute defeats to the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins, which was not so surprising as to affect the NFL picks.

One game into the season, the Patriots victory over Arizona has given them first place in the AFC East; the fact that Tom Brady will adorn their ranks the next time they play on the road only bodes well for them.

But that is nothing new. Then again, it would be a mistake to overlook the performance of Jimmy Garoppolo. Jimmy maintained a surprisingly amount of poise at the line of scrimmage, showing confidence against a highly formidable defense and manifesting the potential that got him his first NFL start.

Special teams Captain Matthew Slater took notice of Jimmy’s confidence and the fact that he didn’t allow the size of the game to get to him. Jimmy didn’t allow his wildly high overthrow to Chris Hogan at the beginning to distract him, settling in soon after. Continue reading

GEORGIA TECH BRACING FOR LONG JOURNEY BEFORE IRELAND OPENER

Georgia Tech Yellow JacketsYellow Jackets Coach Paul Johnson is going into the Georgia Tech opener against Boston College on Saturday with a bit of an advantage, having coached in Ireland before; though, that doesn’t mean he has any more of a favorable position in the college football betting lines.

The Ireland game will mark the Yellow Jacket’s first game outside the United States. Johnson’s experience coaching in Ireland came when Navy played Notre Dame in Dublin.

This was during Johnson’s days as Navy’s offensive coordinator in 1996, and back then, Notre Dame was considered to be the underdog in a game where fans couldn’t perceive the notion of such a tiny school playing the whole Navy.

The Atlantic Coast Conference Opener is coming earlier than Johnson might have preferred, availing him no options for a dress rehearsal game.  Continue reading

NFL TRYING TO MAKE CHANGES TO KICK RETURNS

puppies with footballThe NFL has been attempting to make the game safer for players over the last few years, and one of the ways the league decided to do so was to try and eliminate the kickoff. While the league didn’t end the kickoff, they moved the spot closer to the opposing end zone to increase the chances of touchbacks, which eliminates a return by the receiving team. As expected, the changes weren’t appreciated by some players, one of whom is Chris Maragos of the Philadelphia Eagles. After the disappointing season the Eagles had last year, they won’t be favored in a lot of NFL spreads this season, so be careful when placing bets on the team. Continue reading

5 REASONS TO HIRE A VIDEO PRODUCER RATHER THAN DOING IT YOURSELF

(Thank you to John Montana for another of his fine articles about independent filmmaking in the 21st Century.)

DirectorYou have just finished your script! Congratulations!! That is a huge accomplishment and you should be very proud. You would not believe how many “writers” can’t even get that far. But you have. Good for you. Now comes the difficult question that you must ask yourself. Do I make this video by myself? Or do I hire a producer to do it for me?

Well, this is a very important question. Because there are many variables you must consider before you start. Personally, I do it all myself. That’s just how I’m built, I can’t wait to get started. With that being said though, by doing it yourself, there are many mistakes and pitfalls you will make that can be avoided. And by avoiding these traps, you can free up an enormous amount of time and effort to concentrate on the task at hand…which is making your video / movie.

Here are the top 5 reasons why you should consider hiring a Video Producer. Continue reading
