randoph macon yellow jackets largeNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE YELLOW JACKETS clashed with the ELMHURST UNIVERSITY BLUEJAYS for the D3 title.

This was a one-sided game dominated by the Yellow Jackets, who led 38-23 by Halftime, then left the Bluejays even further and further behind after the break. The final score was Randolph-Macon College 75  Elmhurst University 45. Josh Talbert’s Double-Double of 15 points and 11 rebounds led the Yellow Jackets, WHO LOST ONLY ONE GAME THE ENTIRE SEASON. * THE YELLOW JACKETS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NCAA DIVISION THREE *

NJCAA DIVISION TWO

parkland college cobras biggerCENTRAL DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The PARKLAND COLLEGE COBRAS took the court against the JOHN WOOD COLLEGE BLAZERS.

A tale of two Halves was in store here, as the Cobras compiled a 49-26 advantage by the midpoint, only to be outscored by the Blazers 49-31 in the 2nd Half. NJCAA3 CHAMPIONS CROWNED, NCAA3 FINAL FOUR

NCAA DIVISION THREE

elmhurst bluejaysFIRST SEMIFINAL – In this game the ELMHURST UNIVERSITY BLUEJAYS played the WABASH COLLEGE LITTLE GIANTS.

By Halftime the basketball machine which IS the Bluejays program was on top 48-34. After the break Elmhurst University left the Little Giants further and further behind on their way to a 90-68 triumph. Jake Rhode’s THIRTY-TWO points led the Bluejays. Continue reading

NJCAA FINAL FOUR AND NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT ACTION

NJCAA DIVISION THREE

North Lake College BlazersFIRST SEMIFINAL – The 4th seeded NORTH LAKE COLLEGE BLAZERS ended the Cinderella run of the 8 seeds – the ROCK VALLEY COLLEGE GOLDEN EAGLES.

At Halftime the Blazers were chasing Rock Valley College, who held a 31-28 edge. From there North Lake College came roaring back, ultimately winning the game by a final score of 66-65. Gregory Crawford led the Blazers with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Continue reading

NAIA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP PLUS NJCAA TOURNAMENT ACTION

Loyola WolfpackNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Fighting it out for the 2022 title in the NAIA were the LOYOLA UNIVERSITY (LA) WOLFPACK and the TALLADEGA COLLEGE TORNADOES.

By Halftime the Wolfpack had managed a 36-21 advantage over their opponents. After the break Loyola U and the Tornadoes put up 35 points each, as the Wolfpack won out 71-56. Zach Wrightsil led Loyola with his Double-Double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while fellow Wolfpack player Myles Burns notched a Double-Double of his own with 17 points and 17 rebounds. * THE WOLFPACK ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS OF THE NAIA * 

NJCAA DIVISION THREE DISTRICT FINALS

eastfield-harvesters1SOUTH CENTRAL DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this game the 2 seeds – the EASTFIELD COLLEGE HARVESTERS – faced the top seeded NORTH LAKE COLLEGE BLAZERS.

The Harvesters put the Blazers on Upset Alert at the Half with their 33-28 lead. From there Eastfield College had to hold on by their fingertips against an NLC rally, emerging with an 84-83 triumph. NCCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP AND NAIA FINAL FOUR ACTION

NCCAA DIVISION ONE

baptist bible college patriotsNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 4 seeds – the BAPTIST BIBLE COLLEGE PATRIOTS – took on the 2nd seeded LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE CHARGERS in this title game.

By Halftime the Patriots had put Lancaster Bible College on Upset Alert with their 38-33 advantage. After the break Baptist Bible College eked out a tad more distance from the Chargers for a 77-70 triumph. Trent McBride led the victors with 25 points while his fellow Patriot Tre Minton logged a Double-Double of 22 points and 13 rebounds. * THE PATRIOTS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF NCCAA BASKETBALL

NAIA FINAL FOUR

Talladega College Tornadoes NEWFIRST SEMIFINAL – This game pitted the TALLADEGA COLLEGE TORNADOES against the THOMAS MORE UNIVERSITY SAINTS.

The Tornadoes shocked their opponents by going out in front of them 39-27 at the Half. In turn, the Saints shocked Talladega College by forcing Overtime with a 68-68 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session the Tornadoes emerged with a 78-77 victory. Sixteen points from Cam Potts led Talladega College. Continue reading

NAIA ELITE EIGHT AND NCCAA FINAL FOUR ACTION

NCCAA FINAL FOUR

lancaster bible college chargersFIRST SEMIFINAL – The 2nd ranked LANCASTER BIBLE COLLEGE CHARGERS took the court against the 3 seeds – the CAROLINA UNIVERSITY BRUINS.

The Bruins were threatening an Upset and led the game 35-26 by Halftime. After the break the Chargers outscored Carolina University 42-31 for a thrilling 68-66 comeback win. Jordan Shewbridge put up 21 points to lead LBC in scoring. Continue reading

NAIA AND NCCAA COLLEGE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT RESULTS

NAIA ROUND TWO

ariz christian university firestormBATTLE OF COOL-NAMED TEAMS – The ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM clashed with the BETHEL (KS) COLLEGE THRESHERS in this game.

The Threshers had the Firestorm faithful worried at Halftime with their 40-37 edge. After the break the Firestorm dominated on both sides of the ball, outscoring Bethel College 45-26 to win by a final tally of 82-66. Dennis Flowers III led ACU with 16 points, while his teammate Robby Wilson logged a Double-Double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Continue reading

NAIA, USCAA AND NCCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS CONTINUE

USCAA DIVISION TWO

southern maine college seawolvesNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 5 seeds – the SOUTHERN MAINE COLLEGE SEAWOLVES – and the 7th seeded JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY AT CHARLOTTE WILDCATS played for the title in Division Two of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association).

The Seawolves were on top 36-28 at Halftime, but then had to hold on tight against a furious Wildcats rally after the break. In the end Southern Maine College won out in this 79-75 thriller. Zachary Mickle led the Seawolves with 20 points while two of his teammates notched Double-Doubles – Ian Regan with 15 points & 10 rebounds, and Anderson Kavutse with 12 points & 10 rebounds. * THE SEAWOLVES ARE CHAMPIONS OF USCAA DIVISION TWO * Continue reading

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: NAIA, NCCAA AND USCAA TOURNAMENT RESULTS

NCCAA DIVISION TWO

crown college purple stormFINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – The 4 seeds – the CROWN COLLEGE PURPLE STORM – went up against the 5th seeded ARLINGTON BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PATRIOTS.

At Halftime the Purple Storm were out in front by a score of 38-31. From there Crown College got more and more distance from ABU, ultimately winning the game 82-63. Cade Carroll led the Purple Storm in scoring with his 23 points. 

great lakes christian college crusadersFINAL FOUR: SECOND BERTH – Up next the top seeded GREAT LAKES CHRISTIAN COLLEGE CRUSADERS played the 8 seeds – the EMMAUS BIBLE COLLEGE EAGLES.

The Crusaders dominated this game from start to finish. By the midpoint Great Lakes Christian College held a 42-27 advantage before going on to beat the Eagles by a blowout score of NINETY to SIXTY-THREE. Thirteen points from Whitney Harris of the Crusaders led this team effort.  Continue reading

DAY TWO RESULTS FROM THE USCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

The latest results from the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) –

USCAA DIVISION ONE

paul quinn college tigersFIRST SEMIFINAL – The top seeded PAUL QUINN COLLEGE TIGERS (should be the Purple Tigers) took the court against the 4 seeds – the BRYANT & STRATTON COLLEGE AT ALBANY BOBCATS.

This catfight saw the Tigers smother the Bobcats on both sides of the ball, leading them 42-23 by Halftime. After the break Paul Quinn College maintained its distance from BSC-Albany the rest of way, going on to win the game 80-59. Spencer McElway and Brandon Johnson led the Tigers with 14 points each.  Continue reading
