Loyola WolfpackNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Fighting it out for the 2022 title in the NAIA were the LOYOLA UNIVERSITY (LA) WOLFPACK and the TALLADEGA COLLEGE TORNADOES.

By Halftime the Wolfpack had managed a 36-21 advantage over their opponents. After the break Loyola U and the Tornadoes put up 35 points each, as the Wolfpack won out 71-56. Zach Wrightsil led Loyola with his Double-Double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while fellow Wolfpack player Myles Burns notched a Double-Double of his own with 17 points and 17 rebounds. * THE WOLFPACK ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS OF THE NAIA * 


eastfield-harvesters1SOUTH CENTRAL DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – In this game the 2 seeds – the EASTFIELD COLLEGE HARVESTERS – faced the top seeded NORTH LAKE COLLEGE BLAZERS.

The Harvesters put the Blazers on Upset Alert at the Half with their 33-28 lead. From there Eastfield College had to hold on by their fingertips against an NLC rally, emerging with an 84-83 triumph. Twenty-three points from Geontay Davis led the victors in scoring. * THE HARVESTERS MOVE ON TO THE NJCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT *

Monroe College at Bronx ExpressNORTHEAST DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 2nd seeded MONROE COLLEGE AT THE BRONX EXPRESS did battle with the 4 seeds – the HOSTOS COLLEGE CAIMANS.

The Caimans had the Monroe-Bronx faithful worried at the break as they led this defensive epic 29-23. In the 2nd Half the Express outscored Hostos College 31-20 to win the game 54-49. Jasigha Barnes tossed in 12 points to lead MC-Bronx while his teammate Isaiah Stone logged a Double-Double of 11 points and 12 rebounds. * THE EXPRESS MOVE ON TO THE NJCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT *

Sandhills College FlyersMID-ATLANTIC DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This game pitted two Regional Champs against each other – the SANDHILLS COLLEGE FLYERS and the CENTRAL CAROLINA COLLEGE COUGARS.

Points flew like shrapnel in this contest, with the score tied at 47-47 come Halftime. The Flyers and the Cougars were still knotted up at 96-96 to end Regulation. In Overtime Sandhills College emerged with a 110-103 victory. Darryl McCaster led the Flyers with 24 points and Bryan Quiller managed a Double-Double of 22 points and 26 rebounds. * THE FLYERS MOVE ON TO THE NJCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT *   

college of rhode island knightsEAST DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – A battle of knights was in store from this district’s championship game as the COLLEGE OF RHODE ISLAND KNIGHTS jousted with the NORTHERN ESSEX COLLEGE KNIGHTS.

The College of Rhode Island was out in front 47-32 at the Half. Northern Essex College was able to cut into their opponents’ lead by a mere 3 points after the break. The final score was CRI 79  NEC 67. Eighteen points from Michael Harris led the victors while two other Knights registered Double-Doubles – Richard Pina with 17 points & 10 rebounds, and Mitchel Noresca with 10 points & 15 rebounds. * THE KNIGHTS MOVE ON TO THE NJCAA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT *
