DAY FOUR: GAME ONE – The 3rd seeded BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY BRUINS went head to head with the 8th seeded LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS. In the 3rd Inning the Bruins went on top 1-0 and in the 6th made it a 2-1 advantage. Bellevue University shut out the Blue Raiders the rest of the way while adding additional runs in the 8th Inning for a 4-1 victory. DAY THREE: GAME ONE – This Elimination Game pitted the 8 seeds – the LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS – against the 6th seeded AUBURN UNIVERSITY AT MONTGOMERY WARHAWKS (formerly the Senators). Runs came easily in this high-scoring shootout. By the 3rd Inning the Blue Raiders held a 6-2 advantage over the Warhawks, which turned into a 15-10 lead by the 6th. From there AUM added 2 more runs as Lindsey Wilson College pulled off a 15-12 upset.
DAY NINE: GAME A – The CORTLAND STATE RED DRAGONS – the defending National Champions – took on the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT LACROSSE EAGLES in a rematch of last year’s title game. After a scoreless 1st Inning the Red Dragons found themselves trailing the Eagles 1-0 in the 2nd. The 4th Inning ended in a 2-2 tie and from there Cortland State’s bats got very hot. When all was said and done the Red Dragons won the game by a score of 8-3 for Pitcher Jeff Cooke.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams left standing were the top seeds – the OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON – and the 10th seeded BETHESDA (CA) UNIVERSITY FLAMES. Neither team scored until the Bison grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 3rd Inning but the Flames made it 2-2 in the 5th. By the end of the 6th Inning Oklahoma Baptist University led 4-3 with the relentless Cinderella 10 seeds tying it back up at 4-4 in the 8th. That’s where it stood in the bottom of the 9th when OBU’s Hunter Heath hit a Grand Slam Home Run to give his team an 8-4 triumph. EAST DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The MONROE (Rochester) COLLEGE TRIBUNES came in as champs of Region 203 while their opponents, the DEAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS, wore the Region 221 crown. This collision of title-holders turned out to be a very lopsided affair as the Tribunes opened up the proverbial can on the Bulldogs. The final score in this blowout was Monroe College FOURTEEN and Dean College FOUR! * THE TRIBUNES ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE EAST DISTRICT *
WESTERN DISTRICT: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This game was a clash between two Regional Champions. The YAVAPAI COLLEGE ROUGHRIDERS came in as the champs of Region 1, while the WESTERN NEVADA COLLEGE WILDCATS wore the crown of Region 18. Dylan Enwiller of the Roughriders hit a Grand Slam Home Run to give his team a 20-16 triumph over the Wildcats. Pitcher Andrew Gross picked up the win. * THE ROUGHRIDERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE WESTERN DISTRICT *
DISTRICT E: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this District – the CENTURY COLLEGE WOOD DUCKS and the SAINT CLOUD TECH CYCLONES – did battle to see which of them would get their ticket punched to the NJCAA College World Series. When all of the dust had settled in this duel on the diamond the storied Wood Ducks had defeated the Cyclones by a final score of 9-5. * THE WOOD DUCKS ARE CHAMPIONS OF DISTRICT E *
SAVANNAH BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – This Bracket’s 5 seeds – the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS – have been THE story of the playoffs so far. Against all odds they made it to the third day of play with no losses. The top seeded CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS had suffered a loss on Day One, therefore one more loss would eliminate them. The Skyhawks got annihilated by the Tigers in the early game TEN to NOTHING. In the rubber game Point University notched a 2-1 win for Pitcher Dylan Griffin. * THE SKYHAWKS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE SAVANNAH BRACKET *
HUTCHINSON BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – The top seeded UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS squared off against the 2nd seeded TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS for the Bracket Championship and an automatic bid to the NAIA World Series. Earlier in the day the Blue Jays advanced to the title game by eliminating the (3) WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS. The end result was very non-competitive as the Drovers folded, spindled and mutilated Tabor College EIGHTEEN to TWO! Allan Sanchez pitched for the win. * THE DROVERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE HUTCHINSON BRACKET *
REGION 312: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 2 seeds – the SCHOOLCRAFT COLLEGE OCELOTS – took the diamond against the Region’s top seeded LORAIN COUNTY COLLEGE COMMODORES for the title. The Ocelots got on the scoreboard first as it turned out, driving in 2 runs in the 2nd Inning. From there they added 5 more in the 3rd and the blowout was on. In the end Schoolcraft College schooled the Commodores by a final tally of THIRTEEN to THREE. * THE OCELOTS ARE CHAMPIONS OF REGION 312 *
