USAO Drovers BIGHUTCHINSON BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – The top seeded UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS squared off against the 2nd seeded TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS for the Bracket Championship and an automatic bid to the NAIA World Series. Earlier in the day the Blue Jays advanced to the title game by eliminating the (3) WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS. The end result was very non-competitive as the Drovers folded, spindled and mutilated Tabor College EIGHTEEN to TWO! Allan Sanchez pitched for the win.  * THE DROVERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE HUTCHINSON BRACKET

Master's College Mustangs logoSANTA BARBARA BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – The last two teams left standing in this Bracket were the 3 seeds – the MASTER’S COLLEGE MUSTANGS – and the 4th seeded WILLIAM CAREY UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS. In the early game the Crusaders bounced the top seeded WESTMONT COLLEGE WARRIORS 10-3. The Mustangs led William Carey University 4-0 in the 1st Inning but the Crusaders made it a 4-3 game in the 3rd. Things stayed tight from there but in the end the Master’s College pulled out a 5-4 victory. Jason Karkenny threw 9 Iron Man Innings for the Mustangs.  * THE MUSTANGS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE SANTA BARBARA BRACKET *

Auburn Montgomery WarhawksMONTGOMERY BRACKET: CHAMPIONSHIP – The top seeded AUBURN UNIVERSITY AT MONTGOMERY WARHAWKS (formerly the Senators) faced the 2nd seeded KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS for the title. The Seahawks won a 20-7 blowout of the (3) CENTRAL BAPTIST COLLEGE MUSTANGS in the early game. The Warhawks went up 2-0 in the 1st Inning before Keiser University tied it up at 2-2 in the 2nd. The Seahawks built up a 6-2 advantage by the 5th Inning but Auburn-Montgomery made it a 6-3 game in the 6th. The 9th ended with the score tied at 7-7 and in the ELEVENTH Inning the Warhawks won it 8-7 for Pitcher Jed Carter.  * THE WARHAWKS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE MONTGOMERY BRACKET *

cal-sate-monterey-bay_t180DOUBLING UP – The CALIFORNIA STATE AT MONTEREY BAY OTTERS took the diamond yesterday against the DIXIE STATE RED STORM. The Red Storm notched a quick 1-0 lead in the 1st Inning but the Otters knotted it up at 1-1 in the 3rd. A 3-3 tie in the 6th Inning ultimately became a 6-3 triumph for Dixie State. Jacob Cox was the winning Pitcher for Cal State-Monterey Bay.

novasoutheasternSHARKS DEVOUR WOLVES – The NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY SHARKS found themselves going to bat against the UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA WOLVES. The Sharks led the game 1-0 in the 3rd Inning and 6-3 in the 5th on their way to an 11-4 manhandling of the Wolves. The winning Pitcher for Nova Southeastern University was Alex Mateo. 

St Edward's HilltoppersALL-NAME GAME – The SAINT EDWARD’S UNIVERSITY HILLTOPPERS clashed with the TEXAS A&M AT KINGSVILLE JAVELINAS in this game. The Hilltoppers were able to put up runs in the 2nd, 5th and 8th Innings while the Javelinas didn’t get on the scoreboard until the 6th and could muster just half of their opponent’s offense. Saint Edward’s University won it by a score of 8-4. Pitcher Eric Hester picked up the win.  

Belmont Abbey College CrusadersMARATHON GAME OF THE DAY – The BELMONT ABBEY COLLEGE CRUSADERS battled the CATAWBA COLLEGE INDIANS in the lengthiest game of the day yesterday. The 9th Inning ended in a 5-5 tie between these two evenly matched opponents. Ten Innings wasn’t enough to decide a winner. Neither was Eleven Innings. In the TWELFTH INNING the Crusaders notched a run for a 6-5 victory. The winning Pitcher was Blake Waldren. 

Aiken PacersINSTANT CLASSICS – The UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA AT AIKEN PACERS came back from a 1-0 5th Inning deficit to defeat the TUSCULUM COLLEGE PIONEERS in a 2-1 game for the ages.   ###    And the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS topped the SAINT CLOUD STATE HUSKIES in an exhausting 1-0 Pitcher’s Duel that lasted ELEVEN INNINGS!

west florida argonautsBLOWOUTS – The UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA ARGONAUTS scored runs in every Inning except the 1st and the 9th as they made prison brides out of the CLAFLIN UNIVERSITY PANTHERS to the tune of SEVENTEEN to ONE!   ###    And the CALIFORNIA POLYTECHNIC AT POMONA BRONCOS absolutely eviscerated their opponents the CHICO STATE WILDCATS in an ELEVEN to ONE laugher.

calbaptist lancersSHUTOUTS – The CALIFORNIA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY LANCERS embarrassed the CALIFORNIA STATE AT EAST BAY PIONEERS by a final tally of FOURTEEN to NOTHING!   ###    Meanwhile the EMPORIA STATE HORNETS stunned the UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA AT DULUTH BULLDOGS in a 4-0 scrap   ###   And the QUINCY UNIVERSITY HAWKS shut out, blew out and wiped out the ALDERSON BROADDUS UNIVERSITY BATTLERS by a score of TWENTY to ZERO!

LCU ChaparralsGAMES FOR THE AGES – The LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY CHAPARRALS seized a 5-0 1st Inning lead over the COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS. The Mavericks tied the game at 5-5 by the 4th Inning in this thriller won by the Chaparrals 8-6.   ###   And the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN INDIANA SCREAMING EAGLES edged the MISSOURI S&T MINERS in a 7-5 epic of the diamond.  

Seton Hill Griffins logoTHREE TO ONE – This was a popular score yesterday as the SETON HILL UNIVERSITY GRIFFINS defeated the SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY RAMS 3-0 in a game which saw Pitcher Perry DellaValle throw for 9 Iron Man Innings.    ###    And 3-zip was also the final result in the battle between the FELICIAN COLLEGE GOLDEN FALCONS and the UNIVERSITY OF BRIDGEPORT PURPLE KNIGHTS. Matt Blandino was on the mound for the Golden Falcons in the win.
