EVERGREEN STATE: THE POSTER CHILD FOR WHAT JOKES AMERICAN COLLEGES HAVE BECOME
Yes, Faculty Lounge Fascists and Left-Wing Archie Bunkers from the 1960s generation have transformed America’s colleges and universities into churches for irrational thought. Evergreen State is the most prominent example right now.

In my most recent blog post about this increasingly undeniable state of affairs I quoted from and linked to a New York Times item. This time I’m linking to a Takimag item. The link to that Jim Goad piece is below, but first some excerpts:
“The school (Evergreen State) bears the dubious distinction of being “one of the least selective universities in the nation with an admittance rate of 98%.”
“Over the past couple weeks, Evergreen has leapfrogged over Yale, Mizzou, and even Berkeley to become the most eagerly self-castrating school of higher learning in the US of A.”
“This year, due to caterwauling among Students of Color that they felt unsafe on the campus due to Donald Trump’s election—despite the statistical possibility that not a single teacher nor student on the entire campus voted for Trump or even dared to utter one public word in support of him—the Day of Absence’s organizers attempted to flip the script.
“Instead of the usual routine, which involved black students effectively playing hooky, white students were encouraged to stay off campus, where they could attend workshops that scrubbed their brains clean of any self-interest and instead filled their crania with wholesome and forward-looking feelings of self-loathing.
“This rankled biology teacher Bret Weinstein, a self-proclaimed anti-racist Jewish progressive who at least has the clarity of thought to realize that Critical Race Theory is an ideology rather than an eternal truth.”

Be sure to watch the video of George Bridges, Evergreen State’s President – and in my opinion a man with no self-respect or backbone of any kind. At one point the Evergreen State Fascists freak out over the way Bridges is talking with his hands.
For those of you not in the know, the irrational, emotional cripples who pretend to be college students in 21st Century America have for years been making a big deal out of feeling “unsafe” JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE MIGHT TALK WITH THEIR HANDS.
WHAT KIND OF HELPLESS IMBECILES CAN’T HANDLE SOMEONE TALKING WITH THEIR HANDS? Don’t worry, though, Bridges is such a craven coward that HE OBEDIENTLY TUCKS HIS HANDS OUT OF SIGHT to avoid … doing whatever such a thing does to the brainless students at Evergreen State.

NEW YORK TIMES ON THE INTOLERANCE FOR FREE SPEECH AT AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES

The main focus is on the recent incident at Evergreen State. The link to the item is below, but first some excerpts:
“Reasonable people can debate whether or not social experiments like a Day of Absence are enlightening … Yet reasonable debate has made itself absent at Evergreen.”
“For expressing his view, Mr. Weinstein was confronted outside his classroom last week by a group of some 50 students insisting he was a racist. The video of that exchange — “You’re supporting white supremacy” is one of the more milquetoast quotes — must be seen to be believed. It will make anyone who believes in the liberalizing promise of higher education quickly lose heart. When a calm Mr. Weinstein tries to explain that his only agenda is “the truth,” the students chortle.”
“Following the protest, college police, ordered by Evergreen’s president to stand down, told Mr. Weinstein they couldn’t guarantee his safety on campus. In the end, Mr. Weinstein held his biology class in a public park. Meantime, photographs and names of his students were circulated online. “Fire Bret” graffiti showed up on campus buildings. What was that about safe spaces?”
“Watching the way George Bridges, the president of Evergreen, has handled this situation put me in mind of a line from Allan Bloom’s book “The Closing of the American Mind.” Mr. Bloom was writing about administrators’ reaction to student radicals in the 1960s, but he might as well be writing about Evergreen: “A few students discovered that pompous teachers who catechized them about academic freedom could, with a little shove, be made into dancing bears.”
“At a town hall meeting, Mr. Bridges described the protestors as “courageous” and expressed his gratitude for “this catalyst to expedite the work to which we are jointly committed.” Of course, there was also pablum about how “free speech must be fostered and encouraged.” But if that’s what Mr. Bridges really believes, why isn’t he doing everything in his power to protect a professor who exercised it and condemn the mob that tried to stifle him?”
“The Weinstein saga is just the latest installment in a series of similar instances of illiberalism on American campuses. In March, a planned speech by Charles Murray at Middlebury ended with the political scientists escorted off campus by police and his interviewer, Professor Allison Stanger, in a neck brace. In April, a speech at Claremont McKenna by the conservative writer Heather Mac Donald had to be livestreamed when protestors blocked access to the auditorium.”
“Shutting down conservatives has become de rigueur. But now anti-free-speech activists are increasingly turning their ire on free-thinking progressives. Liberals shouldn’t cede the responsibility to defend free speech on college campuses to conservatives. After all, without free speech, what’s liberalism about?”

CAL-BERKELEY FASCISTS UPSET THAT PEOPLE HAVE NOTICED WHAT FASCISTS THEY ARE
As if the Faculty Lounge Fascists who run Cal-Berkeley haven’t already proven what bloodthirsty garbage they are, NOW the administration and faculty are trying to pretend that it’s wrong for the rest of the country to have NOTICED their masked, black-clad thugs beating bloody anyone who expresses an opinion they disagree with.
Cal-Berkeley is to the Left-Wing Archie Bunkers of the 1960s generation what Nuremberg was to the Nazis. First the Nazis took pride in the Nuremberg Rallies and saw them as the mark of their ascent, but then the later war-crimes trials at Nuremberg gave the place a whole different meaning.
The Left-Wing Archie Bunkers of the 1960s who now run American colleges and universities used to take pride in Cal-Berkeley’s significance to the Free Speech Movement. Now, however, Cal-Berkeley has come to epitomize the hypocrisy of the American Left and the Faculty Lounge Fascists who abuse their positions to browbeat students into agreeing with their outdated 1960s worldview.
The forever-hypocritical 1960s generation of American Liberals were all about Free Speech when THEIR ideas were the ones offending people. Once they considered themselves to be comfortably in the cultural, educational and political driver’s seat by the early 1990s they decided they wanted their own already outdated worldview enshrined in stone and presented as THE one true set of values.
The totalitarian asses of the 1960s can’t bear the fact that younger people might have opinions that offend THEM as much as their opinions offended their parents’ generation. Continue reading
MINDS.COM AND STEEMIT.COM – TWO MORE FREE SPEECH COMPETITORS TO FACEBOOK AND TWITTER
Previously Balladeer’s Blog has featured Gab.ai and Infogalactic.com. Gab.ai is an excellent competitor to Facebook and Twitter since Gab.ai supports free speech (at least so far). If you’re tired of the “boring middle-class suburb” feel of Facebook and Twitter then Gab.ai is great.
In addition, if you’re tired of the censorship at those first two, you’ll love Gab.ai. No more of those arguments in which the person you’re besting in a debate simply reports you as “abusive” to get you suspended or to get your counter-arguments censored or removed.
So far Minds.com and Steemit.com also treat people like adults and don’t let suspensions occur just because easily offended dweebs file one of their never-ending complaints. Continue reading

There was a time when Liberals actively supported freedom of expression because they understood it was THE primary freedom from which all other freedoms flowed. The early figures from my own country’s history protected speech with the FIRST Amendment to the Constitution because they knew all too well that ideas that are considered taboo and offensive today might be considered essential truths by future generations.

SMACKING DOWN THE EXCUSES OF GUTLESS GROVELERS FOR ISLAM
MUSLIM VIOLENCE AWARENESS YEAR CONTINUES!
It’s entertaining listening to the hypocritical sniveling of people who are far too cowardly to criticize the violent fanatics of Islam. The more that the latest Muslim atrocities (and they perpetrate atrocities every single day) highlight the cowardice of their enablers the louder those gutless hypocrites howl in an attempt to deflect attention from their own craven behavior.
Here are some quick smackdowns that let you, too, join in the fun of casually dismissing the wimpy excuses of these would-be Kapos who hope Muslim fanatics will attack the rest of us first.
Gutless hypocrite Ben Affleck was happy to criticize Christians in the movie Dogma but crawls for Islam.
GUTLESS HYPOCRITE COMMENT: Dude, like, we shouldn’t like, let the actions of SOME Muslims, like, color our feelings about, like, all of the Muslim world.
SMACKDOWN: Tell them that the minute sniveling little shits like them stop acting like the actions of SOME Americans, or SOME white people, or SOME Christians or SOME cops represent the actions of ALL Americans, or ALL white people, or ALL Christians or ALL cops you’ll consider that. (HINT: Cowardly hypocrites will NEVER stop making sweeping negative generalizations about Americans or white people or Christians or cops so there is no danger of ever having to deal with a followup on this one. The reason they won’t stop? Because it’s SAFE to generalize about those targets.)
GUTLESS HYPOCRITE COMMENT: Dude, it is so totally not awesome to, like, discuss actions that would affect ALL Muslims after violent incidents that involve, like, some people who just happen to be Muslims.
SMACKDOWN: This one is just a variation of the first one (gutless hypocrites are very unoriginal thinkers). The smackdown is: So you’re saying it’s wrong to discuss actions that would affect ALL gun owners after violent incidents that involve some people who just happen to be gun owners?
GUTLESS HYPOCRITE COMMENT: Dude, people shouldn’t be allowed to criticize Islam because you can’t, like, shout “fire” in a crowded theater. (This one will be accompanied by one of those looks that lets you know the gutless hypocrite who said this thinks it’s a Really Deep Thought instead of the easily dismissed excuse that it really is.)
SMACKDOWN: Yes you CAN shout “fire” in a crowded theater IF THERE’S A FIRE! Even if it APPEARS there is a fire (excessive smoke, etc) you have a responsibility to speak out so other theatergoers are made aware of the danger and can take appropriate action. Cowardly apologists for Islam act like Muslim violence is purely hypothetical and that there’s never been any real-world violence from Muslim fanatics.
GUTLESS HYPOCRITE COMMENT: Dude, are you, like, implying we should commit certain acts against Muslims?
SMACKDOWN: Nope. Cowardly enablers of Muslim violence always act like the only two options are: 1) Do and say and write absolutely NOTHING about Muslim intolerance or 2) Wage all-out war. If people in the Western Democracies would start verbally holding Islam as accountable as other faiths for its homophobia, misogyny and other forms of intolerance the message might get through with no need for any violence.
Trouble is, cowardly apologists for Islam are too timid to even use WORDS against Muslim intolerance. Unfortunately, with religious fanatics if you are too frightened to use WORDS against them you will eventually have to use MORE than words against them. And we’ve seen that collaborators with Islam are far too spineless to ever use more than words, hence their pre-emptive surrender. Continue reading

TABOO CONVERSATION: IF ZUCKERBERG IS FREE TO DISCRIMINATE …

Balladeer’s Blog remains the only site on the web that criticizes American Liberals and Conservatives equally. Let’s have fun pondering a few concepts.
Regular readers here know I openly supported gay marriage YEARS before the weak, inept and crooked little man named Barack Obama did. I still do, so understand at the top that I’m presenting this topic as a hypothetical for discussion’s sake.
When the news came out about Facebook’s blatant censorship of various subjects like Muslim homophobia and misogyny or corruption scandals in one particular political party I was curious how a lot of Facebook consumers would react. Some were outraged, but the usual brigade of people who can talk themselves out of EVER taking a stand on any issue mumbled about how “it’s Zuckerberg’s company … he can run it the way he likes.”
Okay, so if you feel that one percenter Mark Zuckerberg can run HIS company however he pleases and can ban items he disagrees with, why is it wrong for bakery owners to refuse to bake wedding cakes for gay couples? The same principle should apply in BOTH cases: either Zuckerberg should be forced to stop discriminating against consumers who want to use HIS public business OR bakery owners should be free to say they don’t want their public business to be forced to participate in things that offend THEM. GAB – THE FREE SPEECH ALTERNATIVE TO TWITTER AND FACEBOOK
Gab.ai is billing itself as the free speech alternative to Twitter and Facebook. In response to the grotesque censorship at Twitter and Facebook many people are turning to the social network called Gab.
I think this makes a lot of sense since – as countless news stories have made clear – Twitter and Facebook are staffed by hyper-partisan emotional cripples who insist on completely banning articles, links and people rather than just telling people to use their “block” option to avoid things they don’t agree with or that (yawn) offends their dainty, delicate sensibilities.
