CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – It took THIRTEEN INNINGS for a champion to be crowned in NJCAA3. The two teams competing were the 4th seeded OAKTON COLLEGE OWLS and the 3 seeds – the 4-time defending champion TYLER COLLEGE APACHES.
By the 3rd Inning the score was knotted up at 2-2 but the Owls went on top 5-4 in the 4th. That became a 6-4 lead in the 5th Inning, 7-5 in the 8th and 7-7 to end the 9th. In the 10th Inning each team notched 2 more runs, ditto for the 11th. Neither team scored in the 12th, with Oakton College smacking in 3 runs in the top of the 13th, ultimately winning the game 14-11. Alexander Crinigan pitched for the win. * THE OWLS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NJCAA DIVISION THREE *

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The two teams duking it out for the NCAA Division Two baseball title were the 5 seeds – the AUGUSTANA (SD) UNIVERSITY VIKINGS – and the 2nd seeded COLUMBUS STATE COUGARS.
The first 3 Innings were a Pitcher’s Duel with neither team scoring. The Vikings made it a 2-0 game in the 4th but in the bottom of the 5th Inning the Cougars tied things up at 2-2. Continue reading

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE and the FREED-HARDEMAN UNIVERSITY LIONS were the last two teams standing in the 2018 College World Series in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics).
The Lions managed a quick 1-0 edge in the 1st Inning and that lead held up until the 4th when the Fire smacked in FIVE runs. The 6th Inning ended with Freed-Hardeman University pulling to within 5-3. Continue reading

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 3rd seeded CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS did battle with the Cinderella 7 seeds – the WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS.
The Royals seized a quick 2-0 lead in the 1st Inning but by the end of the 2nd the score was knotted up at 3-3. In the 4th Inning Warner University went on top 4-3 but in the 5th the Tigers tied things up again at 4-4. The 7th Inning saw Campbellsville U tack on 3 more runs while the Royals could muster just 2 more in the 9th as the Tigers won it 7-6. The 6th seeded UNIVERSITY OF SAINT KATHERINE FIREBIRDS served up one of the biggest upsets of Day One of Pool Play at this year’s NCCAA World Series. After taking 3rd seeded Campbellsville University out to FIFTEEN INNINGS before dropping a 5-4 game the Firebirds faced the 2nd ranked COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY COUGARS. Continue reading
