BALLADEER’S BLOG’S LATEST COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS IN THE USCAA

bluefield state logoONE HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE – Both teams made the Century Club in this game between the BLUEFIELD STATE BIG BLUES and their guests the JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY (NC) WILDCATS. Defense was not an option, apparently, as the Big Blues led by the unbelievable score of 82-46 at Halftime before going on to win the game 145-106. Malik Lacewell led Bluefield State with 25 points, Malik Tidwell logged 20 points and Khamaury McMillan registered a Double-Double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. 

macu mustangsINSTANT CLASSIC – The MIDATLANTIC CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS took the court against the VIRGINIA PENINSULA COLLEGE GATORS. At the Half the Mustangs were clinging to a tight 32-30 edge. After the break MACU kept the Gators at arm’s length the rest of the way enroute to a 70-68 victory. BALLADEER’S BLOG’S NAIA COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS: JANUARY 8th

vanguard u lionsDOWN GOES NUMBER ONE – In this game the VANGUARD UNIVERSITY LIONS welcomed the number 1 team in the nation – the ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM. Though the Firestorm were on top 43-39 come Halftime, after the break the Lions roared from behind to win the game 84-76. Garrett White led VU with his Double-Double of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

johnson u royalsCENTURY CLUB – Teams who scored 100 points or more in Regulation: the JOHNSON UNIVERSITY (TN) ROYALS won 111-82 against the ST. ANDREWS UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS   ###   The TEXAS A&M AT TEXARKANA EAGLES (should be the Texarks) downed the OUR LADY OF THE LAKE UNIVERSITY SAINTS 110-95   ###   And the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS won 101-82 at the VITERBO UNIVERSITY V-HAWKS.

brewton parker college barons initial logoBREWING A BLOWOUT – The BREWTON-PARKER COLLEGE BARONS played host to the VOORHEES UNIVERSITY TIGERS. The Barons had utterly humiliated the Tigers by the Half with a 38-11 lead, and from there they coasted to a 76-42 triumph. Lance Smith logged a Double-Double of 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead Brewton-Parker College. Continue reading

NJCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Here is my recap of the National Championship Game in the last of the divisions of college basketball covered here at Balladeer’s Blog.

NJCAA DIVISION ONE

Northwest Florida State RaidersNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this tournament were the Cinderella 10 seeds – the NORTHWEST FLORIDA STATE RAIDERS – and the top seeded SALT LAKE CITY COLLEGE BRUINS. 

The Bruins were trying to make it all the way through the 2021-2022 season and post-season with only one loss on their record. The Raiders were closing in on their third national title. Continue reading

NCAA2 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME PLUS NJCAA TOURNAMENT ACTION

NCAA DIVISION TWO

northwest missouri state bearcats newNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE BEARCATS battled the AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY JAGUARS for the D2 title.

The Bearcats – going for their third national championship in a row – led the Jaguars 39-28 at Halftime, then kept them at arm’s length the rest of the game. Northwest Missouri State won by a final score of 67-58 led by THIRTY-ONE points from Trevor Hudgins. * THE BEARCATS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NCAA DIVISION TWO *

NJCAA DIVISION ONE

hutch coll blue dragonsWORKIN’ OVERTIME – In this game from the NJCAA National Tournament the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS went up against the CONNORS STATE COWBOYS.

The Cowboys were on top 46-39 by the Half, but from there the Blue Dragons forced Overtime with a 90-90 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session Hutchinson College prevailed 101-98. Angelo Stuart of the Blue Dragons led his team with THIRTY points.  Continue reading

NJCAA2 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME PLUS NCAA2 FINAL FOUR

NCAA DIVISION TWO

northwest missouri state bearcats newFIRST SEMIFINAL – The NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE BEARCATS fought it out with the BLACK HILLS STATE YELLOW JACKETS in this game.

Suffocating defense from the Bearcats was the story of the game as Northwest Missouri State led 36-26 at Halftime. From there the Bearcats kept Black Hills State at arm’s length to win by a final score of 70-57. Luke Waters led the victors with 17 points while his teammate Wes Dreamer notched a Double-Double of 11 points and 12 rebounds. Continue reading

NJCAA2 ELITE EIGHT ACTION PLUS NCAA2 SCORES

NJCAA DIVISION TWO

sullivan county college generalsFINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – In this game the 3 seeds – the SULLIVAN COUNTY COLLEGE GENERALS – took on the 6th seeded CECIL COLLEGE SEAHAWKS.

The Seahawks put a scare into the Generals with their 44-39 Halftime lead. After the break, Sullivan County College outscored Cecil College 51-35 to win the game 90-79. Jalen Reneau tossed in 21 points to lead the Generals in scoring.  Continue reading

NCAA3 TITLE GAME, PLUS NJCAA2 ACTION

NCAA DIVISION THREE

randoph macon yellow jackets largeNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE YELLOW JACKETS clashed with the ELMHURST UNIVERSITY BLUEJAYS for the D3 title.

This was a one-sided game dominated by the Yellow Jackets, who led 38-23 by Halftime, then left the Bluejays even further and further behind after the break. The final score was Randolph-Macon College 75  Elmhurst University 45. Josh Talbert’s Double-Double of 15 points and 11 rebounds led the Yellow Jackets, WHO LOST ONLY ONE GAME THE ENTIRE SEASON. * THE YELLOW JACKETS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NCAA DIVISION THREE *

NJCAA DIVISION TWO

parkland college cobras biggerCENTRAL DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The PARKLAND COLLEGE COBRAS took the court against the JOHN WOOD COLLEGE BLAZERS.

A tale of two Halves was in store here, as the Cobras compiled a 49-26 advantage by the midpoint, only to be outscored by the Blazers 49-31 in the 2nd Half. Parkland College emerged with an 80-75 triumph led by 21 points from Savon Wykle. * THE COBRAS MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT * Continue reading

NJCAA3 CHAMPIONS CROWNED, NCAA3 FINAL FOUR

NCAA DIVISION THREE

elmhurst bluejaysFIRST SEMIFINAL – In this game the ELMHURST UNIVERSITY BLUEJAYS played the WABASH COLLEGE LITTLE GIANTS.

By Halftime the basketball machine which IS the Bluejays program was on top 48-34. After the break Elmhurst University left the Little Giants further and further behind on their way to a 90-68 triumph. Jake Rhode’s THIRTY-TWO points led the Bluejays. Continue reading

NJCAA FINAL FOUR AND NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT ACTION

NJCAA DIVISION THREE

North Lake College BlazersFIRST SEMIFINAL – The 4th seeded NORTH LAKE COLLEGE BLAZERS ended the Cinderella run of the 8 seeds – the ROCK VALLEY COLLEGE GOLDEN EAGLES.

At Halftime the Blazers were chasing Rock Valley College, who held a 31-28 edge. From there North Lake College came roaring back, ultimately winning the game by a final score of 66-65. Gregory Crawford led the Blazers with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Continue reading
