NJCAA DIVISION TWO
FINAL FOUR: FIRST BERTH – In this game the 3 seeds – the SULLIVAN COUNTY COLLEGE GENERALS – took on the 6th seeded CECIL COLLEGE SEAHAWKS.
The Seahawks put a scare into the Generals with their 44-39 Halftime lead. After the break, Sullivan County College outscored Cecil College 51-35 to win the game 90-79. Jalen Reneau tossed in 21 points to lead the Generals in scoring.
FINAL FOUR: SECOND BERTH – The 2nd seeded DAVIDSON-DAVIE COLLEGE STORM did battle with the 7 seeds – the HENRY FORD COLLEGE HAWKS.
By the Half, the Storm had mustered a tight 36-34 edge. From there the Hawks refused to go away, but Davidson-Davie College got past them with a 66-63 victory. Twenty-five points from Javeon Jones led the Storm.
FINAL FOUR: THIRD BERTH – This game pitted the top seeds – the SOUTH SUBURBAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS – against the 8th seeded LAKELAND COLLEGE LAKERS.
The Bulldogs squeezed out a 35-32 lead over the Lakers come the midpoint of the game. The rest of the way South Suburban College left their opponents further and further behind, ultimately winning the game 82-63. Camron Donatlan of the Bulldogs led his team with 28 points.
FINAL FOUR: LAST BERTH – The 4th seeded DES MOINES AREA COLLEGE BEARS played the 5 seeds – the MILWAUKEE AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE STORMERS.
The Bears dominated on both sides of the ball in the 1st Half, leading the Stormers 40-26 by the break. From there Des Moines Area College coasted to an 85-70 victory led by 23 points from Goanar Biliew.

CHARGING TO A WIN – The 3 seeds – the HILLSDALE COLLEGE CHARGERS – took the court against the 6th seeded CEDARVILLE UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS.
At Halftime the Chargers were comfortably on top 39-24. Following that came a furious rally attempt by the Yellow Jackets, but Hillsdale College held on to win the game by a final score of 68-61. Patrick Cartier put up 20 points to lead the Chargers.
FIVE OVER FOUR – In this game the 5th seeded UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI AT SAINT LOUIS TRITONS played the 4 seeds – the TRUMAN STATE BULLDOGS.
The Tritons put Truman State on Upset Alert at the Half with a 40-37 edge. After the break the University of Missouri at Saint Louis squeezed out a bit more separation from the Bulldogs, defeating them 73-68. Shane Wissink led the Tritons with 15 points.
THIS WAS NO BOATING ACCIDENT – One of the 1 seeds – the NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY SHARKS – clashed with the SAVANNAH STATE TIGERS.
This was an incredibly lopsided game from start to finish. By the midpoint the Sharks were out in front 54-33 and never looked back from there. By the time Nova Southeastern U was done dining on the Tigers they had won by a Century Club-level score of 113-62. Sekou Sylla led the Sharks with his Double-Double of 25 points and 10 rebounds.
WELCOME TO THE CENTURY CLUB – Another 3 seed vs 6 seed game here as the (3) LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY RAILSPLITTERS battled the (6) GEORGIA COLLEGE BOBCATS.
This tale of two Halves saw the Railsplitters holding a mere 40-36 edge over their opponents at Halftime, only to explode after the break to crush the Bobcats to the tune of 100-65. Leading Lincoln Memorial University to that Century Club mark was Mekell Burries with 22 points.
WE’RE (ANOTHER) NUMBER ONE – In this game another 1 seed – the LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY CHAPARRALS – played the 8th seeded TEXAS A&M AT COMMERCE LIONS.
The Chaparrals dominated on both sides of the ball, leading Texas A&M at Commerce 42-24 by the break on their way to an 80-63 triumph. Twenty-one points from Rowan MacKenzie led Lubbock Christian University.
UPSET OF THE ROUND – This game saw the 8th seeded UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA AT FAIRBANKS NANOOKS topple their region’s 1 seeds – the CALIFORNIA STATE AT SAN MARCOS COUGARS.
The Nanooks sent the Cal State-San Marcos faithful into a panic at Halftime with their comfortable 37-23 advantage. From there a Cougars rally came up short as the University of Alaska-Fairbanks won the game by a final tally of 70-63. Shadeed Shabazz led the Nanooks with THIRTY-FIVE points.
Damn. Please don’t tell ANYONE from Georgia this or I’d be run out of town….BUT….that there South Suburban College Bulldog looks like it would give our Georgia Bulldog a run for its money!!! 🤣 Thanks for the smile, Balladeer! Cheers!!! 💕
