D2 COLLEGE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP PLUS CCCAA RESULTS

*** NCAA DIVISION TWO ***

Augustana (SD) VikingsNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The two teams still standing in this tournament were the 2 seeds – the AUGUSTANA (SD) COLLEGE VIKINGS and the lone remaining 1 seed – the LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY RAILSPLITTERS. The Vikings put the Railsplitters in unfamiliar territory by being on top of them 43-38 at Halftime. After the break Augustana College inched further and further away from Lincoln Memorial University, ultimately winning the game by a score of 90-81. PELE AND HI’IAKA: EPIC OF HAWAII PART NINETEEN

Balladeer’s Blog continues its examination of the grand and exciting Hawaiian epic about the goddesses Pele and Hi’iaka.

PART NINETEEN

Hi’iaka and her mortal traveling companion Wahine approached the sorceresses named Kilioe and Kalanamainu’u, ready for battle. The naked sorceresses who had stolen the corpse of Prince Lohiau were fighting on their home turf there in their cavern hideaway, where they were familiar with every shadowy tunnel and corner. 

Any advantage that may have provided Kilioe and her sister witch was lost the minute Hi’iaka saw Lohiau’s corpse on the mats that lined the floor. It was then that she realized that her speculation was right – the pair of sorceresses had used their dark magic to preserve Lohiau’s body in all its male glory. They had never been able to woo the late prince in life but wanted him all to themselves in death.     Continue reading →

OBAMA RESPONDS TO A MUSLIM NUCLEAR ATTACK

Proud father of the Islamic State (aka Obamastan) and founder of the Iranian nuclear weapons program. 

The recent word out of Belgium has been that the operatives of the Islamic State spawned by Barack Obama’s premature withdrawal from Iraq were planning a “dirty bomb” attack. Obamastan (the alternate name for the Islamic State) had operatives in place at a Belgian nuclear plant. Some of those operatives were arrested and approximately eight other Muslims were fired from jobs at nuclear facilities because of questionable identification papers.  

Balladeer’s Blog presents a look at how Little Barry Obama would respond to a nuclear attack by Muslim fanatics if it succeeded.

D2 SEMIFINALS: COLLEGE BASKETBALL

*** NCAA DIVISION TWO ***

Lincoln Memorial University RailsplittersFIRST SEMIFINAL – The top seeded LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY RAILSPLITTERS squared off against the 4 seeds – the WEST LIBERTY STATE HILLTOPPERS. Points flew like shrapnel in this game, which the Railsplitters led 54-53 at Halftime. Following the break the Hilltoppers continued giving LMU a thorough challenge but in the end the Railsplitters triumphed by a Century Club level score of 103-102. Gerel Simmons put up THIRTY-FIVE points for the victors.   Continue reading →

INANNA: DEATH AND RESURRECTION

InannaSpring is the time of year that always puts me in mind of the many dead and resurrected deities who were featured in various seasonal myths around the world. This is a look at Inanna, but if you want more dead and resurrected gods and goddesses click HERE

Pantheon: Sumerian (The Babylonians called her Ishtar) 

The Tale: Inanna the fertility goddess and queen of the heavens was looking to extend her reign to the land of the dead. She descended into the Netherworld, which was ruled over by her sister, the goddess Ereshkigal. Fighting on the death goddess’ own turf was foolish and Ereshkigal won the controntation and either nailed Inanna to a wall of her palace or impaled her on a stake, Vlad the Impaler style.

With Inanna thus imprisoned, vegetation died from the withering heat of summer, which could get even worse in that part of the world, where droughts could be so intense that the Tigris and Euphrates rivers were the only bodies of water that would NOT get dried up. The usual drought cycle continued, with vegetation dying, then animals who lived off it dying, etc. In the case of Inanna her dominion over sexual fertility also added the angle that males and females of all species lost all interest in sex and reproduction as well.   Continue reading →

THE AMERICAN LEFT’S CUBAN FETISH EXPLAINED

Obama spinelessly let him get away with this pretence. The next day Amnesty International and other groups provided PLENTY of names of political prisoners in Cuba.

Balladeer’s Blog remains the only site on the web that equally criticizes both American Liberals and Conservatives. Some readers from overseas asked me why American Liberals adore Cuba and the Castro Brothers but constantly trash their own country for comparatively smaller offenses. I’m happy to explain:

American Liberals think that any oppressive dictatorship that is on bad terms with the United States MUST be wonderful but oppressive dictatorships that are on GOOD terms with the United States MUST be viewed as proof that we are complicit in injustices around the globe and should be hated for it. Trust me, after the bloated rich pig Castro Brothers are gone, if Cuba actually becomes closely alligned with America in the future the left will talk about nothing BUT all the political prisoners and oppression in that country.

This is just one small part of the childishly simplistic worldview of American Liberals. Any nation as large as the United States will inevitably wind up with countries that approve of its actions and countries that disapprove of its actions. Liberals think it’s automatically “deep and intellectual” to side ONLY with those nations that disapprove of America’s actions.

The rest of us, who are neither Liberals nor Conservatives (you can call us adults) evaluate each individual situation for ourselves, sometimes agreeing with America’s detractors, sometimes agreeing with America’s supporters. Obama is a typical American Liberal ass so naturally he swoons at the mere thought of Cuba and the murderous Papa Fidel and family.

COLLEGE HOOPS: D2 FINAL FOUR SET

*** NCAA DIVISION TWO ***

Lincoln Memorial University RailsplittersFINAL FOUR – FIRST BERTH – The LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY RAILSPLITTERS are the only 1 seeds left, and yesterday they battled the 8th seeded BARRY UNIVERSITY BUCCANEERS. The Railsplitters had their hands full with the Buccaneers in the 1st Half, but squeezed out a 42-38 lead by Halftime. After the break Lincoln Memorial University slowly but surely put more and more distance between themselves and Barry University. The Railsplitters won it 93-75 led by Emmanuel Terry’s Double-Double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Continue reading →

OBAMA: THE CRUSADERS AND INQUISITORS PERVERTED CHRISTIANITY

Just kidding of course! As the bodies of Islam’s victims pile ever higher Barack Obama bitterly clings to his claim that it’s THE REST OF THE WORLD that has a problem – not the Muslim World. 

What the Hollow Man Obama said was that the Islamic State spawned by his premature withdrawal from Iraq”perverted one of the world’s great religions.” In Little Barry’s mind ONLY Christians and Jews should be held accountable for actions committed by their their co-religionists.

If this weak, inept and crooked little man spent half as much energy fighting this war as he does trying to defend Islam the civilized world would be in much better shape.

You’ll never hear Obama say that “The Crusaders and the Inquisitors perverted Christianity so all Christians are hereby exempt from ever hearing pompous jackasses throw the Crusades and the Inquisition at them ever again. Besides, NOT ALL CHRISTIANS participated in the Crusades and the Inquisition. Just an unrepresentative few.”  

No, you will never hear that from this apologist for Muslim atrocities and he still refuses to use the words “Islamic Terrorism.” But Little Barry holds ALL AMERICANS guilty for what SOME Americans did over a hundred years ago. Collective guilt applies only to the Western World in his eyes. I’m neither a Democrat nor a Republican so I can objectively state that this little man has been the most embarrassing president the United States has ever had. It’s appropriate that “Obamastan” has become a second name for the Islamic State.

I’m also a non-believer in any of the world’s religions but I have no problem saying that Islam is the most violent, homophobic, misogynistic and otherwise intolerant religion in the world at this particular point in history. Not so the cowardly Barack Obama.

PELE AND HI’IAKA: EPIC OF HAWAII PART EIGHTEEN

Balladeer’s Blog continues its examination of the grand and exciting Hawaiian epic about the goddesses Pele and Hi’iaka.

PART EIGHTEEN

On the island of Kauai the goddess Hi’iaka and her female mortal companion Wahine prepared to launch their assault on the cavern lair of the evil sorceresses named Kilioe and Kalanamainu’u. The entrance to that cavern was nearly inaccessible, since it was basically just a large hole on the side of a steep mountain hundreds of feet up.

Hi’iaka and Wahine needed to reach the cave to free the corpse of Prince Lohiau from the clutches of the sorceresses so that it (the corpse) could be reunited with its wandering spirit, thus restoring life to Lohiau, the chosen mate of Hi’iaka’s sister Pele, the fire and volcano goddess. (Meanwhile, Megan’s love for Stan is still unrequited since he is obsessed with his sexy new neighbor Samantha, not realizing she is his mother’s murderer Sam after a sex-change operation …)   

When our two heroines began to climb the sheer cliff wall the sorceresses used their dark magic to create winds strong enough to knock them back to the ground. After repeatedly being hindered by this maneuver Hi’iaka used her divine powers to make Kilioe and Kalanamainu’u so sensitive to sunlight that they had to retreat to the furthest reaches of their cave to avoid the burning pain.  Continue reading →

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: NAIA CHAMPS CROWNED

*** NAIA DIVISION ONE ***

MidAmerica Christian U EvangelsNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – You can’t get much more exciting than a game-winning shot in Overtime right at the buzzer. Malcolm Mann made that shot to bring its first National Championship to the 4th seeded MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EVANGELS! The Evangels triumphed over the top seeded GEORGETOWN (KY) COLLEGE TIGERS in a genuine hardcourt classic.

Georgetown College led MACU at Halftime 50-39 and seemed headed for victory but the Evangels came out of the locker room primed for a comeback and forced Overtime with an 82-82 tie to end Regulation. In the extra session Mann came through to lift MACU to a 100-99 win. Devonse Reed led the Evangels with 25 points. * THE EVANGELS ARE NAIA DIVISION ONE CHAMPIONS *   Continue reading →
