ROSEMARY WOZNIAK PRESENTS THE DEEDEE JONROWE MUSH MADNESS PROFILE

SPECIAL GUEST COMMENTATOR ROSEMARY WOZNIAK BREAKS DOWN THE IDITAROD

Iditarod Dogs Racing togetherBalladeer’s Blog welcomes my sister Rosemary as a guest commentator to share her enthusiasm for the upcoming Iditarod Race. She is a terrific Good Will Ambassador for the event and has gotten me and several other people into following the event each year.

Balladeer’s Blog will once again offer updates on the race as it progresses, complete with each competitor’s Official Balladeer’s Blog Nickname. For instance four-time Iditarod Champion Lance Mackey, known to my readers as “The Mad Musher”. Now over to Rosemary, after this reminder that the 2013 race will begin on March 3rd.

INUIT DEITY: INUGPASUG

 INUGPASUG – This god was a giant who could be said to fall under the mythological category of a “divine geographer”, like Khong Lo in Vietnamese myths and Halmang in Korean myths.

Such figures are revered as having sculpted and/or created many of the world’s geographical features. In the case of Inugpasug, the Shaktoolik Peninsula in Alaska, Egg Island, Besboro Island and many other landmarks in regions occupied by the Inuits.

IDITAROD 2012: THE WRAPUP

 Everyone remembers that Dallas “The Kid” Seavey won the Iditarod back on the 13th. He is the youngest winner of the Iditarod in history adding another milestone after last year’s Arctic John Baker being the first native Alaskan to win the event. My sister Rosemary has been a passionate follower of this event for years and got me into it several years back. MUSH MADNESS: MARCH 15TH – THE IDES OF IDITAROD BRING THIS YEAR’S WINNER

“Arctic John” Baker, the first native Alaskan to win the Iditarod since 1976, just crossed the finish line, so let’s take a look at how his competitors are doing.
