To hell with Godwin’s Law. Yes, it’s a shame Nazi parallels have been so overworked as to become cliches, but there’s no denying the parallel can be drawn in this instance. For anyone unfamiliar with the Rotherham Report just do an on-line search for it and you can pick from countless articles. The report dealt with instances of over 1,400 young non-Muslim women being raped and groomed for further rape by Muslims in part of the U.K. Similar reports have emerged from other areas in the country.

Previously I wrote about the horrific specifics of the atrocities perpetrated on young women by the Muslims in the report. This time I’ll comment on the way the atrocities were enabled by U.K. bureaucrats, many of whom willfully ignored the complaints of the rape victims because the assailants were Muslim. Some of the bureaucrats have tried to excuse their actions (or rather their inaction) by plaintively whining that they “didn’t want to be accused of Islamophobia.”

Incredible state the western world is in. It’s easier to turn a blind eye to multiple rapes of girls as young as 11 than it is to speak out on the issue and be dubbed “Islamophobic”. Some of the testimony from the few brave souls who DID speak out detailed how punishment came swift and sure for anyone who pointed out that it was Muslim men raping non-Muslim women. Again you can search on-line for verification. I stopped providing specific links long ago because of the mindless way Liberals and Conservatives refuse to believe anything that doesn’t come from one of the sites that caters to their own particular pre-conceived notions.

But to be clear, though, this is one horror that is PURELY at the feet of Liberals. Their obsession with patting themselves on the back for siding with anyone they believe represents a force in opposition to the Western Democracies has spawned the current environment. The Political Correctness Police are always on the lookout for anyone who transgresses against their biased vision of “multiculturalism”. That bizarre vision and their devotion to their own egos always forces them to defend the least tolerant and most misogynistic and homophobic religion in the world at this particular point in history. COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER 20th

Marian Knights helmet newNUMBER ONE TAKES A FALL – The MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS went from being the NAIA’s National Champions a couple years back to once again being an afterthought. Yesterday, determined to make a statement, they traveled to face the current champions – the top ranked GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS and led 10-0 after the 1st Quarter. The defending champs fought back to make it a 17-16 game by Halftime but the Knights added 14 points in the 3rd Quarter while a 4th Quarter Safety represented the only points the Vikings put on the board in the 2nd Half. QB Hayden Northern threw for a career-high 319 yards and 3 Touchdowns in this 31-18 shocker.    

Montclair_St_NJMONTCLAIR STATE RULES THE WORLD – NCAA Division 3’s MONTCLAIR STATE RED HAWKS welcomed Division TWO’s LINCOLN (PA) LIONS to Sprague Field yesterday. The Red Hawks had the Lions a bit worried when the 1st Quarter ended with a 7-7 tie and kept up the scare, leading the higher division team 21-14 at the break. In the 3rd Quarter Coach Rick Giancola’s Montclair State team put up 6 more points and, following a scoreless 4th Quarter, left the final score Red Hawks 27  Lions 14.    

Limestone College Saints helmetVICTORY NUMBER ONE FOR LIMESTONE – NCAA Division 2’s LIMESTONE COLLEGE SAINTS, coached by Bobby James, are in just their first year of playing intercollegiate football but notched their first win in program history with game three yesterday! The Saints welcomed the COLLEGE OF FAITH MIGHTY BELIEVERS and utterly annihilated them. The Limestone offense and defense had their way all afternoon with the Saints leading 21-0 by Halftime enroute to a FORTY-FIVE to NOTHING victory.   Continue reading →

PULP HERO G-8 AND HIS BATTLE ACES: STORIES FORTY-THREE TO FORTY-FIVE

Flight from the GraveBalladeer’s Blog resumes its examination of the neglected Pulp Hero G-8. This is a story-by- story look at the adventures of this World War One American fighter pilot who – along with his two wingmen the Battle Aces – took on various supernatural and super- scientific menaces thrown at the Allied Powers by the Central Powers of Germany, Austria- Hungary and the Ottoman Muslim Turks.

G-8 was created by Robert J Hogan in 1933 when World War One was still being called simply the World War or the Great War. Over the next eleven years Hogan wrote 110 stories featuring the adventures of G-8, the street-smart pug Nippy Weston and the brawny giant Bull Martin. The regular cast was rounded out by our hero’s archenemy Doktor Krueger, by Battle, G-8’s British manservant and by our hero’s girlfriend R-1: an American spy/ nurse whose real name, like G-8’s was never revealed.

This professor – Felix Unger’s grandfather no doubt – is a brilliant chemist who wants nothing more than to see the Allied Powers lose the war.

To that end Professor Unger has provided the Central Powers with a deadly new super-scientific weapon: apparent snowfall which is actually a chemical solution that dissolves human flesh! Allied pilots and soldiers are dying in large numbers and once again it is up to our heroes to get to the bottom of the situation and thwart a mad genius’ scheme to alter the course of the war! OPEN HOUSE (1987): HORROR FILM REVIEW

Open House 1OPEN HOUSE (1987) – This movie falls into the bizarre sub-genre of “Theme Slashers” from the 1980’s. I have a soft spot for those flicks and have previously reviewed Horror House on Highway 5 (slasher in a Richard Nixon mask), The Newlydeads (undead transvestite slasher), Bloodbeat (female slasher using a samurai sword), Hellroller (slasher in a wheelchair) and about a dozen others.

With Open House we get a slasher who specializes in killing … Real Estate Agents. Now who could resist a movie about a killer with such an oddly specific obsession? Cult figure Adrienne Barbeau stars in the film and has outrightly admitted she only made this turkey to finance her child’s college education. I have no idea what motivated Sam Bottoms and Tiffany Bolling to appear in this “so bad it’s good” little honey.

Harry, our homeless slasher, wins the hearts of all lovers of bad movies right off the bat with the makeshift weapon he uses to kill his first two on-screen victims. The homicidal Harry stops eating from a can of dogfood long enough to tape razors to a toilet plunger handle and uses the improvised device to unleash bloody mayhem. He carves up the sexy realtor and her hunky househunter just as they were about to get their freak on in the house she was trying to sell him. Continue reading →

Their courage is awe-inspiring and serves as a reminder of what all women risk losing in the global battle against the misogynistic forces of Muslim fanatics. COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER 13th

Lindsey_Wilson_KYTHE BLUE RAIDERS ANNIHILATE D2’s KWC – Nearly each week of every college football season at least one NAIA team upsets a team from the NCAA Division TWO. This is similar to when a 1AA team upsets a 1A team. Yesterday the NAIA’s LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS didn’t just upset D2’s KENTUCKY WESLEYAN COLLEGE PANTHERS, they folded, spindled and mutilated them! Lindsey Wilson College won the game by a score of SIXTY-TWO to TEN, thoroughly pleasing their home crowd!

St Xavier UniversitySXU RULES THE WORLD – Another NAIA team – the SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS – hosted NCAA Division Two’s 15th ranked UNIVERSITY OF INDIANAPOLIS GREYHOUNDS. The Cougars were happy to demonstrate what kind of football they play in the NAIA and led the Greyhounds 12-7 at Halftime. SXU was led by 2 rushing Touchdowns by Khary Ferguson as they pulled off the upset. The Cougars held on late to win this game for the ages by a final score of 19-15. 

NC Wesleyan Battlin' BishopsTHE BATTLING BISHOPS ALSO RULE THE WORLD – NCAA Division Three’s NORTH CAROLINA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY BATTLING BISHOPS were on the road against Division Two’s LINCOLN (PA) LIONS. QB Dustin Midgett led his team to a 13-0 Halftime advantage, with the Battling Bishop defense turning in a repeat performance in the 2nd Half for NC Wesleyan’s first shutout since 2011. Welcome back to Balladeer’s Blog, the only site that equally criticizes both Liberals and Conservatives. There was another beheading video released by the favorite people of American Liberals – Muslim religious fanatics. The fanatics claim they beheaded David Haines a British AID WORKER and said they did it as a warning to America’s allies about being dragged into allegedly “unwinnable wars”.

The expression “unwinnable wars” needs put in perspective. In modern warfare a victorious nation shows restraint and does not bombard an entire nation into submission like was done to Germany in World War Two for instance.

That restraint means that when the conventional war is won there is a sufficiently effective enemy network still at large in the defeated nations. The existence of such networks – often aided by forces outside the defeated country – means that any victorious nation needs to be prepared to maintain forces in the defeated nation for literally two decades AT LEAST.

That will not happen because the civilized world’s enemies (Muslim fanatics at present) know that as long as they can maintain ANY level of hostile activity they can count on the spineless and self-aggrandizing political left in the Western Democracies to do politically what they themselves cannot do militarily – force a premature withdrawal of the victorious forces. Scourge of the Steel Mask 340. SCOURGE OF THE STEEL MASK (January 1937) – AT LAST! THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF STEEL MASK, DOKTOR KRUEGER’S ONE TRUE RIVAL AS THE FANS’ FAVORITE ADVERSARY OF G-8! Decades before Dr Doom and Darth Vader Steel Mask was a supervillain who hid his horribly scarred face behind a metallic mask.

Steel Mask suffered his facial disfigurement in the explosive inferno that was unleashed when G-8 shot down a German Zeppelin he was traveling in as one of the passengers. The now-amnesiac German has lost his entire past and his only reality is his intense hatred of the American pilot who wiped out his memories and destroyed his face. ANCIENT GREEK COMEDY: AUTOLYCUS circa 420 B.C.

Jesse Ventura: Wrestler turned governor of Minnesota

With the ongoing domestic violence situation with the NFL’s Ray Rice, the fake “drowning rescue” at USC plus the usual number of other scandals plaguing high-profile athletes at the moment this seemed a good time to examine the ancient Greek comedy Autolycus. This play was written by Eupolis who, along with Aristophanes and Cratinus constituted the Big Three of Attic Old Comedy. As with so many comedies of the time period Autolycus has survived only in fragmentary form, unfortunately.

THE PLAY

The title character of Eupolis’ comedy Autolycus was an Athenian athlete who earned a high degree of fame for his performance at the Great Panathenaia in 422 B.C. To simplify the concept the Great Panathenaia was a “local” version of the Olympic games and did not have participants from all over the known Western World.

Like so many figures from ancient Athens Autolycus had both male lovers and female lovers. The plot of this comedy dealt with the way in which Autolycus’ male lover Kallias – a wealthy heir – had begun grooming Autolycus for a run at political office. The play depicted Autolycus (son of Lykon) as being all muscles and no brains, prompting Kallias to insist his lover be “coached up” on politics by one of Lykon’s servants – an erudite man who suffered financial losses and was reduced to the lackey class in Athens.  

Once again we have an ancient Greek comedy with a theme we can still relate to today. On one level we can picture unlikely figures like Arnold Schwarzeneggar or Jesse Ventura successfully winning gubernatorial races despite their public reputations as “jocks” instead of statesmen. On a deeper level the theme of the comedy can also be applied to ANY figures who are deemed politically viable because of their accomplishments in a field COMPLETELY unrelated to the skills necessary to the art of governing.   Continue reading →
