DAY ONE, GAME ONE: Starting things off for the NAIA was this game between the 10th seeded MASTER’S UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS and the 7 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS. After a scoreless 1st Inning the Mustangs piled up a 4-0 advantage in the 2nd. By the 4th Inning the Drovers were still chasing The Master’s University in a 5-3 game. The Mustangs accumulated 2 more runs along the way for a 7-3 upset win. Pitcher Jason Karkenny got the W.
DAY ONE, GAME TWO: This game pitted the 6 seeds – the MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS – against the 3rd seeded OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES. Neither team scored until the 3rd Inning, when the Spartans grabbed a 4-0 lead. The Eagles cut it to a 4-3 score by the end of the 4th Inning but produced no more runs. Missouri Baptist University added 1 more in the 5th and rode that to a 5-3 upset of Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Michael Syrett threw for the win. Continue reading
DAY TWO, GAME ONE: The 5th seeded CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS started off Day Two with their game against the 8 seeds – the BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS. The Tigers quickly shot off to a 3-0 lead in the 1st Inning and that score remained unchanged until the 4th, which ended in a 4-1 lead for Campbellsville U. The Rambling Rams gave up 5 more runs in the 5th Inning and the slaughter was in play. The Tigers won the game TWELVE to TWO for Pitcher Nick Johntson (sic).
DAY TWO, GAME TWO: Up next the 6 seeds – the SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES – took on the 7th seeded OAKLAND CITY UNIVERSITY MIGHTY OAKS. After 2 scoreless Innings the Eagles went up 3-0 in the 3rd. After that Southwestern Christian University kept the Mighty Oaks off the scoreboard until the 9th Inning while adding runs of their own in the 6th and 7th. Jacob Spencer pitched for the 9-2 Eagles win.
DAY ONE, GAME ONE: The day started with this clash between the 3 seeds – the BETHESDA (CA) UNIVERSITY FLAMES and the 7th seeded OAKLAND CITY UNIVERSITY MIGHTY OAKS. After 2 scoreless Innings the Flames grabbed a 2-0 edge in the 3rd. The Mighty Oaks made it a 2-1 game in the 5th Inning but by the end of the 6th Bethesda University held a 6-2 lead. From there the Flames coasted to a 9-4 victory with Pitcher Daniel Arellano getting the win.
DAY ONE, GAME TWO: Up next the 8th seeded BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS played the 4 seeds – the ALICE LLOYD COLLEGE EAGLES. Neither team scored until the 4th Inning, when the Eagles snuck on top 1-0. All that did was make the Rambling Rams angry and they proceeded to put up runs in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Innings. Daniel Ruiz pitched the entire game for the Rambling Rams in this 7-1 win.

CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: The two teams battling it out for the D3 title were the TRINITY (TX) TIGERS and the KEYSTONE COLLEGE GIANTS. The Tigers forced a 2nd game by hammering the Giants FOURTEEN to SIX in the early game! In the decisive Game Two a 3-1 1st Inning lead for Trinity became a 5-3 edge in the 3rd Inning. By the 7th Inning the Tigers led the Giants 8-6 on their way to a 10-7 victory and their first title in baseball. Pitcher Chris Tate got the Win. * THE TIGERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS FOR NCAA DIVISION THREE *
DAY FOUR: GAME ONE – The 3rd seeded BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY BRUINS went head to head with the 8th seeded LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS. In the 3rd Inning the Bruins went on top 1-0 and in the 6th made it a 2-1 advantage. Bellevue University shut out the Blue Raiders the rest of the way while adding additional runs in the 8th Inning for a 4-1 victory. Bruins Pitcher Braulio Torres-Perez threw for 9 Iron Man Innings in the win.
DAY THREE: GAME ONE – This Elimination Game pitted the 8 seeds – the LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS – against the 6th seeded AUBURN UNIVERSITY AT MONTGOMERY WARHAWKS (formerly the Senators). Runs came easily in this high-scoring shootout. By the 3rd Inning the Blue Raiders held a 6-2 advantage over the Warhawks, which turned into a 15-10 lead by the 6th. From there AUM added 2 more runs as Lindsey Wilson College pulled off a 15-12 upset.
DAY ONE: GAME ONE – The 7th seeded STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS and the 10 seeds – the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS – were tied up at 1-1 in the 1st Inning. The Warriors grabbed a 5-3 lead in the 4th Inning and then shut out the Skyhawks from there. The final score was Sterling College 9 Point University 3 with Pitcher James McDonald snagging the win for the Warriors.
