NCAA DIVISION TWO
FIRST SEMIFINAL: The top seeds – the COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS – played the 5th seeded UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI MULES. Neither team scored during a Pitcher’s Duel that lasted for the first 6 Innings.
In the 7th Inning the Mavericks drove in what turned out to be the only Run of the game and rode it to a 1-0 triumph over the Mules. Pitcher Will Dixon was on the Mound for 9 Iron Man Innings for Colorado Mesa University.
SECOND SEMIFINAL: There was no real drama in this game between the 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA SPARTANS and the 7 seeds – the MERCYHURST UNIVERSITY LAKERS. By the 2nd Inning the Spartans already held a 6-0 advantage.
The University of Tampa kept the Lakers off the scoreboard the rest of the way while adding Runs of their own in the 3rd, 6th and 8th Innings for a TWELVE to NOTHING shutout. The winning Pitcher was Sammy Peralta.
