As regular readers of Balladeer’s Blog may well imagine I have been laughing my ass off at the cosmic levels of hypocrisy on display in this presidential race.
I’m neither a Democrat nor a Republican (and nobody else should be, either, at this point) and I went on the record last October with my speculation on how the 2016 presidential race might go. I was wrong on 2 items but dead on with the others. CLICK HERE

So, while appreciate your wit and your site’s readability, and I’m really not saying this negatively, it’s just that after reading a couple of your posts it seems that you will hyperbolize and slant just as much as does the Corporate or New or anyone/thing else Media we have nowadays. To me, it’s just the way things are – there is so much shrill one must scream just to be heard. Cool site though. I’ll be back.
Hello! I appreciate the comment and I did notice I forgot to add the “humor” category to this post, so I went back and added it.
Anyway, since you’re new I’ll point out that almost none of my posts are meant 100% sincerely.
I love playing with the shrill cliches of the day that you mentioned, but I sometimes take it for granted that people can tell when I’m being straight and when I’m being tongue in cheek.
For instance, long-time readers know that when I start a sentence with a remark like “It’s no secret that …” and then go on to state an opinion, that I’m doing it to parody the way American media outlets do that same thing all the time – presenting their opinions as if “everybody” shares them.
One of the few things I am ALWAYS sincere about, though, is my belief that the terms “liberal” and “conservative” have worn out their old meanings and that people hide behind them out of habit.
That’s why I get accused of being BOTH liberal AND conservative. When I express a viewpoint usually associated with liberalism too many people still assume I agree with EVERYTHING that is considered a “liberal” belief. Same with when I express a viewpoint usually associated with conservatism.
A post I did years ago was particularly entertaining because, rather than do my usual bashing of Hillary and Sarah Palin I instead pretended to be PRAISING both of them. But for humor’s sake I praised Palin using left-wing cliches about “empowerment” and “positive role models for women” etc.
And for Clinton I just used her as a stick to beat Obama over the head with, pretending to be praising her but really just criticizing Obama.
