BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: SEP THIRTEENTH

HEADLINES

NAIA OVER NCAA DIVISION TWO – And another NAIA football team toppled a team from a higher division. The LANGSTON UNIVERSITY LIONS visited D2’s LINCOLN (MO) BLUE TIGERS yesterday and saw their 12-7 1st Quarter lead become a 14-12 Blue Tigers edge come Halftime. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter, but Langston U. consummated the Upset 19-14 in the 4th.

NUMBER THREE TAKES A FALL – Down in NCAA Division 3 the RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE YELLOW JACKETS welcomed the number 3 team in the nation – the JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUE JAYS. The Blue Jays were on top 14-7 at the Half, but RMC went up 21-14 in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th, the Yellow Jackets prevailed 28-21. Continue reading

COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER FIFTH

HEADLINES

NAIA OVER NCAA DIVISION TWO – The NAIA’s FLORIDA MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY LIONS traveled to face the higher NCAA Division Two team the ALLEN UNIVERSITY YELLOWJACKETS. Allen University parlayed their 10-7 1st Quarter edge into a 31-21 advantage by Halftime. From there the Lions shut out their opponents and came from behind for a 38-31 Upset. 

KNOCKING OFF NUMBER THREE – Down in NCAA Division Three, the 5th ranked team in the nation – the WHEATON COLLEGE THUNDER – played host to the number 3 UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS. The Thunder put Mount Union on Upset Alert with their 17-7 lead at the Half only for the Purple Raiders to tie things up at 17-17 in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th, Wheaton College managed a 24-23 victory. Continue reading

COLLEGE FOOTBALL FROM AUGUST TWENTY-NINTH

HEADLINES

NAIA OVER NCAA DIVISION TWO – Another Upset of a D2 team by an NAIA football team. The BETHEL (TN) WILDCATS took the field against the visiting MILES COLLEGE DRAGONS. The Wildcats grabbed a quick 13-3 advantage in the 1st Quarter, then made that 16-3 by Halftime. It was all defense from there as neither team added any more points to the scoreboard. 16-3 was the final count as well.

NCAA DIVISION TWO OVER NCAA DIVISION ONE – In this game D2’s ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY LAKERS traveled to take on D1’s CHICAGO STATE COUGARS. Chicago State led 7-3 in the opening Quarter, but the Lakers took over from there. At the Half, Roosevelt U. was on top 27-14, which morphed into a 37-21 lead to end the 3rd Quarter. The teams exchanged TDs in the 4th as the Lakers won out 44-28.

DOWN GOES NUMBER THREE – Back in the NAIA, the nation’s 7th ranked MORNINGSIDE UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS welcomed the number 3 BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS. A 7-7 1st Quarter tie became a 14-7 Mustangs advantage by the midpoint of the game. In the 3rd Quarter the Ravens went up 21-20 only to see Morningside University come back in the 4th for a 35-28 triumph. Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: THE 2026 SEASON IS UNDERWAY!

NJCAA

CHAR-BROILED – The number 2 team in the nation – the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS – welcomed the CISCO COLLEGE WRANGLERS. The Blue Dragons proceeded to fold, spindle and mutilate Cisco College, leading them 21-0 to end the 1st Quarter, 42-7 at Halftime, and 52-7 in the 3rd Quarter before logging a FIFTY-NINE to SEVEN triumph over the Wranglers in the 4th.

ANOTHER ROSWELL INCIDENT – In Roswell, NM the NEW MEXICO MILITARY INSTITUTE BRONCOS (should be Cavalry) took the field against the visiting DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS. The Conquistadors led the Institute 7-3 in the opening Quarter, but the Broncos went up 23-20 by the Half. The 3rd Quarter ended with NMMI leading 30-20 before winning out 37-20 in the end. BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: NOV 16th

HEADLINES

DOWN GOES NUMBER THREE – In NCAA Division Three, the 25th ranked FRANKLIN & MARSHALL COLLEGE DIPLOMATS welcomed the number 3 team in the nation – the JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUEJAYS. A 7-0 Bluejays lead in the 1st Quarter became a 21-14 advantage by Halftime. The Diplomats forced Overtime with a 21-21 tie, and in the extra session won out 29-28.

NUMBER FOUR TOPPLED – In NCAA Division Two, the VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS traveled to face the country’s number 4 UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA ARGONAUTS. By the midpoint, the Argonauts were out in front 30-23. From there the Blazers tied the score 44-44 to end Regulation, then went on to win in Overtime 47-44. 

NUMBER SIX TAKES A FALL – Over in the NAIA, the number 9 MORNINGSIDE UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS visited the 6th ranked DORDT UNIVERSITY DEFENDERS. The Mustangs were on top 13-7 in the opening Quarter and 20-14 at the Half. After the break the Defenders knotted things up at 28. In Overtime Morningside U. triumphed 34-28. Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: NOV 9th

HEADLINES

NUMBER FIVE FALTERS – Down in NCAA Division Three, the UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS played host to the country’s number 5 HARDIN-SIMMONS UNIVERSITY COWBOYS. At the Half the score was knotted up at 7-7 but the 3rd Quarter ended with the Cowboys up 10-7. In the 4th, the Crusaders came from behind for a 21-17 Upset.

UNLUCKY OVER LUCKY – Staying in D3 for a moment, the unlucky number 13 CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY CAPTAINS played the visiting lucky number 7 SALISBURY UNIVERSITY SEA GULLS. The Sea Gulls were up 30-28 at the midpoint of the game. From there, the Captains rallied to win out 45-42.  

DOWN GOES NUMBER EIGHT – In the NAIA, the 15th ranked COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES visited the number 8 team in the nation – the CARROLL COLLEGE FIGHTING SAINTS. CC led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter but by Halftime the Coyotes held a 26-7 advantage. After the break, the College of Idaho outscored the Fighting Saints 10-6 for a 36-13 manhandling. Continue reading

BALLADEER’S BLOG’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: NOV 2nd

HEADLINES

NUMBER FIVE TOPPLED – In NCAA Division Two, the 8th ranked COLORADO STATE AT PUEBLO THUNDERWOLVES visited the number 5 team in the nation – the WESTERN COLORADO UNIVERSITY MOUNTAINEERS. By Halftime WCU was in front 21-7, but the Thunderwolves shut them out from there. It was 21-21 in the 3rd Quarter with CSU-Pueblo winning 24-21 in the 4th.

DOWN GOES NUMBER EIGHT – Down in NCAA Division Three, the number 9 UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT RIVER FALLS FALCONS played host to the 8th ranked UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT WHITEWATER WARHAWKS. UW-River Falls made a definite statement, leading the Warhawks 31-7 at the Half before embarrassing them by a final score of 52-14   

CENTURY CLUB IN FOOTBALL? – My Century Club notes usually apply to college basketball teams that score 100 or more points in Regulation. In a very, very rare case in football, the NJCAA’s SNOW COLLEGE BADGERS welcomed the CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE SAINTS and utterly eviscerated them ONE HUNDRED ONE to SIX!
