DIVISION TWO OVER DIVISION ONE – The NCAA Division 2 team the DELTA STATE STATESMEN traveled to face NCAA Division 1’s MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE DELTA DEVILS. After a scoreless 1st Quarter, the Delta Devils went up 3-0 at the Half. The Statesmen took a 14-6 advantage to end the 3rd Quarter before consummating the Upset 21-6 in the 4th.
DIVISION THREE OVER DIVISION TWO – NCAA Division 3’s BREVARD COLLEGE TORNADOES defeated their hosts the D2 ERSKINE COLLEGE FLYING FLEET by a final score of 27-14 ### And the D3 team the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT LACROSSE EAGLES won big 47-13 at the D2 WAYNE STATE WARRIORS.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER ONE – Up in the NAIA the 9th ranked BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS took it on the road against the number 1 team in the nation – the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS (should be Zebras). Come Halftime Grand View led 10-7. The 3rd Quarter saw that score morph into a 17-14 Vikings lead and the 4th saw the Ravens triumph 21-17.
DOWN GOES NUMBER FIVE – Staying in the NAIA for the moment, the number 14 ST. THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS (should be Tomcats) welcomed the number 5 LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS. A 7-7 deadlock at the Half turned into a 17-7 Bobcats lead in the 3rd Quarter. Neither team scored from there, making 17-7 the final tally as well.
NUMBER EIGHT TAKES A FALL – In NCAA Division 3 The HEIDELBERG UNIVERSITY STUDENT PRINCES traveled to play the nation’s number 8 team – the UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS. The Student Princes led 10-7 at Halftime and made that a 30-21 advantage to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th a Purple Raiders rally fell just short as Heidelberg University won 37-34.
AND NUMBER NINE GOES TUMBLING AFTER – Up in NCAA Division 2, the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT PEMBROKE BRAVES hosted the country’s 9th ranked VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS. By the midpoint the Blazers were on top 27-20. The Braves pulled within 27-23 in the 3rd Quarter before upsetting Valdosta State 44-41 in the explosive 4th.
HAPPY HOME STAND – The WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS played host to the CAPP ACADEMY CRUSADERS. The Mechanics led 14-0, 35-0 and 42-6 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively before going on to win the blowout by a final tally of 49-6.
NAIA VS NCAA DIV THREE
NAIA OVER NCAA D3 – The BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS clashed with the home standing GREENSBORO COLLEGE PRIDE. Neither team scored in the 1st Quarter, followed by a 7-7 Halftime tie. The Rambling Rams went on top 14-7 in the 3rd Quarter and left with a 28-7 victory in the 4th.
NCAA D3 OVER NAIA – The HOWARD PAYNE UNIVERSITY YELLOW JACKETS visited the WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS (should be Flying Ws). Wayland Baptist saw their 10-7 opening Quarter lead become a 20-10 Yellow Jackets advantage going into the locker room. From there, HPU outscored the Pioneers 17-7 in a 37-17 win.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The MIDLAND UNIVERSITY WARRIORS won 28-16 at the (13) NORTHWESTERN (IA) COLLEGE RED RAIDERS ### Meanwhile, the (18) MCPHERSON COLLEGE BULLDOGS (should be Mastiffs) blew out the visiting (17) EVANGEL UNIVERSITY VALOR 40-14 ### And the ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BATTLIN’ BEARS won a 38-32 thriller at the (21) MONTANA-WESTERN BULLDOGS.
ODDBALL SCORING – In this game the AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES took it on the road against the UNIVERSITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE EAGLES (should be Flamingos). A scoreless opening Quarter was followed by the Gyrenes seizing a 22-0 advantage at Halftime. After the break, only 3 points were put up as AMU won 22-3.
UNDER THE RADAR STANDOUTS – The WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY OWLS logged a 29-26 victory at the MOUNT MERCY UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS ### Elsewhere, the TENNESSEE VALLEY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE DEFENDERS shocked their hosts the ANDREW COLLEGE FIGHTING TIGERS 23-13 ### And the AVILA UNIVERSITY EAGLES (formerly the Avalanche) won 30-24 at the UNIVERSITY OF ST. MARY SPIRES.
ONE-POINT WONDER – Up next was this game between the STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS and the visiting BETHANY COLLEGE SWEDES. Neither team scored in the opening Quarter, but the Warriors were up 9-7 at the Half. The Swedes forced Overtime with a 17-17 4th Quarter tie and Sterling College won 24-23 in the extra session.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The NORTH GREEVILLE UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS downed the home standing (19) UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA TIGERS 24-14 ### And the MARS HILL UNIVERSITY LIONS managed a 15-7 road victory at the (24) LENOIR-RHYNE UNIVERSITY BEARS.
UNDER THE RADAR GRUDGE MATCH – This game pitted the (23) NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY TIMBERWOLVES against their guests – the storied HILLSDALE COLLEGE CHARGERS. A scoreless 1st Quarter was followed by a 7-0 Halftime edge for the Chargers. That became 7-3 in the 3rd Quarter before the Timberwolves came back in the 4th to win 10-7.
ALL NAME GAMES – The HENDERSON STATE REDDIES defeated the UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT MONTICELLO BOLL WEEVILS 35-24 ### Meanwhile, the ASSUMPTION UNIVERSITY GREYHOUNDS beat the PACE UNIVERSITY (IRISH) SETTERS 34-27 ### And the COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES OREDIGGERS won 34-3 over the FORT LEWIS COLLEGE SKYHAWKS.
INSTANT CLASSIC – The KENTUCKY STATE THOROBREDS hosted the SAGINAW VALLEY STATE CARDINALS yesterday. The 7-7 opening Quarter tie was unchanged by the Half. A 14-14 3rd Quarter deadlock wound up in the 4th as a 21-17 victory for the Thorobreds.

OTHER UPSETS IN THE RANKINGS – The (24) SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY RIVERHAWKS won 49-23 at the (13) JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUEJAYS ### And the CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY PATHERS toppled the visiting (19) LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS by a tight score of 24-21.
ONE-POINT WONDER – In this game the NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE PILGRIMS welcomed the FITCHBURG STATE FALCONS. A 6-6 opening Quarter tie was followed by a 16-6 Pilgrims lead at the Half. In the 3rd Quarter New England College went up 23-14, then held on in the 4th to win the game 23-22.
SHUTOUTS – The UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT EAU CLAIRE BLUGOLDS embarrassed the visiting CARTHAGE COLLEGE FIREBIRDS to the tune of 40-0 ### The ST. NORBERT COLLEGE GREEN KNIGHTS won 31-0 at the EUREKA COLLEGE RED DEVILS ### And the LAKE FOREST COLLEGE FORESTERS obliterated the GRINNELL COLLEGE PIONEERS by a count of SIXTY-THREE to nothing.
COOL NAME BOWLS – The ALVERNIA UNIVERSITY GOLDEN WOLVES defeated the KING’S COLLEGE MONARCHS 28-21 ### Next, the OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY POLAR BEARS mauled the MUSKINGUM UNIVERSITY MUSKIES 41-13 ### And the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT STEVENS POINT POINTERS mangled the PACIFIC UNIVERSITY BOXERS 48-13.

AUTHORITATIVE WIN – In this game the NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS (Shipbuilders) entertained the FORK UNION MILITARY ACADEMY BLUE DEVILS. The Builders kept FUMA off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter as they parlayed a 20-0 Halftime advantage into a 27-7 victory.
MASSACRE – The PERU STATE BOBCATS welcomed the WESTGATE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY GOLD RAVENS. A 33-0 Bobcats advantage at the Half became a 40-14 lead to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Peru State sent the Gold Ravens home reeling from a 54-14 beatdown.
TRIPLING UP ON THE COMPETITION – Up next the TRINITY COLLEGE OF FLORIDA TIGERS played host to the DAYTONA BEACH CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY SERAPHIM. The Tigers dominated on both sides of the ball, ultimately dispatching the Seraphim by a count of 42-14.

NUMBER TWO ON THE ROAD – The number 2 team in the country – the HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS – traveled to face the BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES. A 17-0 Blue Dragons lead in the 1st Quarter was unchanged at Halftime. From there, Hutchinson kept the Grizzlies scoreless as they triumphed 24-0.
HISTORY IS MADE – The SALEM (NJ) COLLEGE MIGHTY OAKS welcomed the THADDEUS STEVENS COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY BULLDOGS. The Bulldogs led 7-0 at the Half but Salem had pulled to within 13-12 in the 3rd Quarter. The 4th saw the Mighty Oaks log their new team’s first ever intercollegiate football victory 18-13.
HAPPY HOME STANDS – The DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS survived a 43-42 visit from the INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES ### The NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN doubled up on the HIGHLAND COLLEGE SCOTTIES 70-35 ### And the COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS defeated the LEAD ACADEMY KINGS 14-7.

DOWN GOES NUMBER FIVE – The 9th ranked BUTTE COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS visited the number 5 FRESNO CITY COLLEGE RAMS. The Roadrunners led 28-17 at Halftime, but Fresno City College tied things up at 31-31 to end the 4th Quarter. In Overtime Butte College snuck past the Rams 34-31.
INSTANT CLASSICS – The GROSSMONT COLLEGE GRIFFINS eked out a 22-21 victory over the visiting LOS ANGELES VALLEY COLLEGE MONARCHS ### Meanwhile, the (18) COLLEGE OF THE REDWOODS CORSAIRS defeated the FOOTHILL COLLEGE OWLS 24-17 ### And the MOORPARK COLLEGE RAIDERS won in OT 28-27 at the (11) VENTURA COLLEGE PIRATES.
DOUBLING UP ON THE COMPETITION – In this game the SHASTA COLLEGE KNIGHTS were on the road against the CHABOT COLLEGE GLADIATORS. The Knights grabbed a quick 28-7 1st Quarter, but Chabot College made it a 28-21 game by the midpoint. After the break, Shasta College got more and more separation from the Gladiators for a 56-28 victory.
LOPSIDED AFFAIRS – The (7) SAN DIEGO MESA COLLEGE OLYMPIANS utterly manhandled the visiting (21) PALOMAR COLLEGE COMETS by a score of 48-14 ### Elsewhere, the (10) MOUNT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE MOUNTIES trounced the CITRUS COLLEGE OWLS 64-13 ### And the (23) FULLERTON COLLEGE HORNETS won 55-19 over the EAST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE HUSKIES.
