2012 D3 COLLEGE WORLD SERIES TEAMS FINALIZED, PLUS DAY 3 OF THE NJCAA3 WORLD SERIES

 The regional playoffs in NCAA Division 3 baseball are over and the eight teams that will compete in the D3 College World Series have been finalized. The Webster University Gorloks (logo at left), a former Cool-Named Team of the Day here at Balladeer’s Blog, have the most original and creative name among the eight teams.

On the actual baseball side of things last year’s champions, the Marietta College Pioneers, won their region and return to the World Series to defend their crown. For the other D3 World Series teams as well as scores from today’s NJCAA3 College World Series games read on.

ONE LAST ROUND OF CONGRATULATIONS FOR THIS YEAR’S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS

 With the College World Series’ over now in all the divisions Balladeer’s Blog covers let’s offer a final round of congratulations to this year’s champions. In a way it was The Year of the Eagle since that nickname (one of the most monotonously overused in college sports) is sported by no less than three of the title winners. On the other end of the spectrum the Harvesters have the most unique nickname among this year’s winners so that’s why their logo is featured. MAY 31ST COLLEGE WORLD SERIES RESULTS – MARIETTA PIONEERS TAKE D3 TITLE, THE NAIA, JUCO AND NCAA DIVISION 2 WORLD SERIES’ CONTINUE

This was the final day of the NCAA Division 3 World Series and the Chapman Panthers, with one loss already in the series, did what they had to do,defeating the unbeaten Marietta Pioneers 15-4 to force a second game. The second game was all Pioneers as Marietta eased  their way to an 18-5 win, taking the 2011 national championship for D3 baseball!

NCAA DIVISION 2, JUCO, NAIA AND NCAA DIVISION 3 WORLD SERIES SCORES MAY 28TH

 Today D2 and the JUCO College World Series’ get underway while the NAIA and D3 College World Series’ will be playing their second day of games.
