FLASHBACK: NEW YORK TIMES OP-ED ON THE POMPOSITY OF THE AMERICAN LEFT’S TRUMP-HATERS

Obama pen and phoneHere’s another blog post where I take a break from personally pointing out how the American Left’s unbearable pomposity and snobbery have driven away so many of us who used to consider ourselves part of it. This time my points are being made in a New York Times Op-Ed by Gerard Alexander, a professor of political science at the University of Virginia. 

He uses the out of date term Liberals to describe them. If anything they are Illiberals and Left-Wing Archie Bunkers. The link is below, but first some excerpts:

“Liberals dominate the entertainment industry, many of the most influential news sources and America’s universities. … But this makes liberals feel more powerful than they are.”

“In fact, liberals may be more effective at causing resentment than in getting people to come their way.”

“Liberals are trapped in a self-reinforcing cycle. When they use their positions in American culture to lecture, judge and disdain, they push more people into an opposing coalition that liberals are increasingly prone to think of as deplorable. FLASHBACK: THE REAL DIVIDE IN AMERICA – DEMOCRATS VS THE REST OF US

democrat platform hatredFROM MAY 3rd, 2021 – Independent Voter site Balladeer’s Blog comes to you once again from an America divided by the Democrats’ hatred and racism. It’s no secret that in the United States the REAL division is not black people vs white people or gay people vs straight people or women vs men – it’s DEMOCRATS VS EVERYBODY ELSE.

Yes, people of all colors or religions, etc., can discuss anything calmly and reasonably and without hatred as long as none of them are Democrats. They may not agree, but the debates can be civil and free of vituperative accusations. However, when one or more Democrats enter the conversation, hate-filled hysteria replaces facts and logic. What had been an exchange of ideas degenerates into vitriol and sanctimonious drivel.

It doesn’t help that pompous, hypocritical and snobbish Democrats actually believe in “Democrat Exceptionalism.”

*** Remember, the people who call others White Supremacists do not speak for all black people, they speak for DEMOCRATS, some of whom happen to be black.

NO DEMOCRAT WOULD ALLOW THIS SIGN IN A CLASSROOM OR OFFICE.

*** People who push for “Defunding (and/or firing) The Police” do not speak for all people of color, they speak for DEMOCRATS, some of whom happen to be people of color.

*** People who insist other people must lose their jobs and/or be driven from an entire profession for expressing opinions that supposedly “offend” or “marginalize” entire groups do not speak for those entire groups, they speak only for DEMOCRATS.

*** People who oppose voter i.d. do not represent all people of color, they represent DEMOCRATS.

*** People who pretend to represent educators do not represent all educators, they represent DEMOCRATS in the education field. Democrats file complaints about or otherwise harass anyone who expresses dissenting opinions. Continue reading →

FLASHBACK: ANOTHER BERNIE SANDERS SUPPORTER POINTS OUT HOW BAD DEMOCRATS ARE NOW

hillary-clinton-deck-stacking“George King, a Bernie Sanders supporter, is yet another in the ever-growing list of people like me who are disgusted with the pathetic and irrational behavior of the Democrats following career criminal Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump. King wrote an op-ed piece titled Democrats Have Lost the War, the People and All Three Branches of Government.

FLASHBACK: AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL NAMES BARACK OBAMA A WAR CRIMINAL AND HUFFINGTON POST CALLS HIS WAR ON PRESS FREEDOM “A DICTATOR’S DREAM.”

FROM NOVEMBER 9th, 2013. Republican George W. Bush and Democrat Barack Obama are the two presidents I despise the most, but nobody is surprised at what garbage Bush was. Obama loons like to ignore the criticism he received in office. Even when language like “war criminal” and “dictator’s dream” were used to describe Obama, it never approached the hysteria seen in the Trump years.

“It’s no secret that the Obama administration may well be the most corrupt and abusive in history. And I’m the furthest thing from a Conservative you can find. I could fill this site every day with stories about the ongoing developments in the countless investigations into this weak, inept and crooked little man but we’d all get bored with the repetitious coverage of this criminal’s venality, pomposity and general douchebaggery. FLASHBACK: AND YET ANOTHER FORMER DEMOCRAT WEIGHS IN

BALLADEER’S BLOG

FROM APRIL 18th, 2016 – Regular readers of Balladeer’s Blog know I used to be a Democrat before leaving the Party to become an Independent Voter because of how unhinged and intolerant Democrats have become. 

“Michael Faraday is another in the long line of people that the increasingly demented political left has driven away. So here are some more reflections from somebody else who became disgusted with the complacent and self-infatuated left – especially the close-minded classroom liberals of the 1960s generation that Faraday came from. His remarks – 

“For the millions raised as leftists, it is not an ideology; it is a culture. Since childhood, they have lived and breathed it every day in the home. They know nothing else. Like any culture, it is a way of speaking, thinking and acting, with its own narratives and rituals. Narratives are held sacred, repeated, reinforced and, over time, added to. That which challenges sacred narratives, even reality itself, is met with confusion and hostility.”

“Leftists combine child-like naïveté and paranoid aggression in all of their narratives. It is a remarkable and very damaging pairing. The child-like naïveté protects the narrative from facts while the paranoid aggression protects the mind from doubt.”

“It (21st century leftism) harnesses together childish emotions and paranoid thought processes. Its narratives are a filter that reality has to try to struggle through, often failing. FLASHBACK: CALIFORNIA WOMAN SAYS “FELLOW LIBERALS, I’M TIRED OF YOU.”

FROM DECEMBER 23rd, 2016, amid the unhinged Democrat overreaction to Trump’s election for his first term. If anything, they’ve grown even worse and certainly more violent.

In the wake of Trump’s election, I am experiencing ‘tribe fatigue.’ I’m not tired of The Other, Detestable Tribe. I’m tired of my own.

“I was raised a secular liberal. My college professors were secular liberals. During my journalism phase, my newspaper colleagues were secular liberals. My law school professors and peers were – in the vast majority – secular liberals. Almost everyone at my corporate law firm was a secular liberal. My California neighbors and friends are secular liberals, as are my colleagues. My mother, siblings, and their spouses are all secular liberals.

“By all rights, I should be a member in good standing of their tribe, ‘liking’ their Facebook posts and joining their candlelight vigils against the evil Trump Administration. But November 8 and its aftermath revealed to me that I am just so tired of these people. I can’t be like them, and I don’t want my kids turning into them.

“I am tired of their undisguised contempt for tens of millions of Americans, with no effort to temper their response to the election with humility or empathy.

“I am tired of their unexamined snobbery and condescension.

“I am tired of their name-calling and virtue-signaling as signs of supposedly high intelligence.

“I am tired of their trendiness, jumping on every left-liberal bandwagon that comes along (transgender activism, anyone?) and then acting like anyone not on board is an idiot/hater.

FLASHBACK: ENGLAND’S NICK COHEN ON HOW THE LEFT BECAME APPALLING

From February 17th, 2016. Back when I was still referring to American Democrats as Liberals before I went along with reader requests to just say Democrats instead because they were no longer liberal and were, in fact, very illiberal.

I considered myself a Liberal back before the political left became constrictive and totalitarian … I periodically post about fellow former leftists who have also recognized that Liberals throughout the Western World have become everything they pretend to oppose. They’re just better at P.R. than right-wingers are.”

England’s Nick Cohen made plenty of remarks I can relate to:

“(A Liberal) cannot break with the pressures that enforce conformity in his left-wing world and accept the real reason why many leave the left. It ought to be obvious. The left is why they leave the left. Never more so than today.”

“The shift of left-wing thought towards movements it would once have denounced as racist, imperialist and fascistic has been building for years.
