VALENTINE’S DAY SHOUTOUT TO PRESIDENT WILLIAM MCKINLEY AND HIS WIFE IDA

MckinleysSince today is Valentine’s Day AND we have Presidents Day coming up here’s a brief shoutout to the often neglected love story about President William McKinley and his wife Ida Saxton McKinley.

The McKinley years were far enough away that there is a certain sincerity to their relationship that could never be trusted in these days of endless media overload. 

Years before they were President and First Lady the McKinleys lost both their daughters in tragic circumstances. Ida was never the same and became epileptic plus showed signs of other disorders. As president, William happily restructured the usual social agenda for First Ladies to accommodate Ida’s special circumstances. Continue reading →

MckinleysSince today is Valentine’s Day AND we have Presidents Day coming up here’s a brief shoutout to the often neglected love story about President William McKinley and his wife Ida Saxton McKinley. The McKinley years were far enough away that there is a certain sincerity to their relationship that could never be trusted in these days of endless media overload. 

Years before they were President and First Lady the McKinleys lost both their daughters in tragic circumstances. Ida was never the same and became epileptic plus showed signs of other disorders. As president, William happily restructured the usual social agenda for First Ladies to accommodate Ida’s special circumstances.

Ida was permitted to sit rather than stand for the endless receiving lines that STILL take up too much time in the world of politics. McKinley’s administration had Vice President Hobart’s wife tend to many of the strenuous hostessing activities that First Ladies usually have to endure.

Perhaps most touchingly, President McKinley had Ida sit right next to him at formal meals rather than at the opposite end of the table, as was the usual custom. He did this so that when Ida had one of her epileptic seizures at the table he could place a napkin over her face to prevent guests from noticing. Although personally, I’ve always been convinced that the guests were just pretending not to notice. But that’s just me.

Melania over MichelleWith the mean-spirited slug Michelle Obama slithering back into public view this week, THE Mother Jones – Mary Harris Jones – decided to grant another posthumous interview to Balladeer’s Blog.

Balladeer’s Blog: You seem excited about something, “Mother” Jones.

Mother Jones: I am! I was admiring the way First Lady Melania Trump – who speaks more languages than both Obamas – has been dazzling the world lately!

mother-jonesBB: Now that you mention it, she HAS been, and it’s been fun watching Trump-haters froth at the mouth over it.

MJ: The people who hate the Trumps are the same wealthy pigs who hated me when I was alive. Anyway, Melania’s charismatic tour de force made me reflect on what a nice change of pace she is from that bitter, frowning sow Michelle Obama. Did you see Melania with those children in Italy? MICHELLE OBAMA UNSEATS NANCY REAGAN AS THE WORST FIRST LADY EVER

It’s President’s Day! For a different kind of President’s Day treat Balladeer’s Blog takes a look at a truly repulsive person who has managed to surpass the pompous, snobbish and callous Nancy Reagan to become America’s Worst First Lady Ever.

MICHELLE OBAMA – Bitter and hate-filled, this cosmically unlikeable figure has been stripped of her right to practice law just like her corrupt husband. Michelle is an overt racist whose loathing of everyone who is not an African-American is right out in the open for all to see.

Michelle is such a repulsive figure that when Barack was elected she was ill-mannered enough to say it was the first time she wasn’t ashamed of the country. Only a piece of absolute garbage would do this. It’s like being invited into someone’s house and telling them “This is the first time I’ve been in your house and it hasn’t stunk like an open sewer.”

Michelle Obama uglyMichelle Obama embodies the term “Redneck of Color” with her ignorance and her lack of social graces and we can all happily tell her she represents the first time we as a nation have had to be ashamed of our First Lady. Michelle, like Barack, is a beneficiary of Affirmative Action, which she admits in one of her anecdotes that she glories in telling, even though she gets it wrong.

She talks about how she was told her grades weren’t good enough to get into Princeton … yet she got in anyway because of minority set-asides established by those eeeevilll white people she hates so much. When Michelle tells this story she words it like it’s an “I showed them” story, as if it’s a personal triumph on her part.

Michelle Obama scowlUh, no, clueless little Michelle. It would be a personal triumph if the story concluded “… But I studied hard and raised my grades so that I got in ANYWAY!” It’s hilarious to see her tell this story repeatedly (it’s even on youtube) yet never realize what an asshole she comes off as.
