EVEN MORE BLACK CONDOR CAPTIONING FUN

Regular readers of Balladeer’s Blog will remember that the 1940’s superhero the Black Condor is my Official Superhero because of how enjoyably absurd he was. Here is the latest round of captioning fun with old covers of the comic books he appeared in.

ANNETTE FUNICELLO, FORMER PM OF GREAT BRITAIN PASSES AWAY, AS DOES FORMER BEACH MOVIE STARLET MARGARET THATCHER

Annette FunicelloWhat an odd pair of ladies to die within hours of each other! Balladeer’s Blog marks the passing of Annette Funicello and Margaret Thatcher.

ANNETTE FUNICELLO – Known as the Iron Mouseketeer, Lady Annette Funicello passed away today at the age of 87. The oft-controversial figure was known for her hell-for-leather approach to politics and for her fiery childhood resignation from the Mouseketeers, whom she memorably labeled “a bunch of Trade Unionists in mouse ears”.

Annette’s most significant years came when she was voted Prime Minister of Great Britain and allied herself with Continue reading

BLACK CONDOR CAPTIONING FUN STRIKES AGAIN!

Awhile back I designated the 1940’s superhero the Black Condor as the Official Superhero of Balladeer’s Blog. I did that because of the character’s sheer awesome level of weirdness. Here’s another bit where I caption one of the covers from the Black Condor’s adventures in the appropriately named Crack Comics. MORE BLACK CONDOR CAPTIONING FUN

The 1940’s Black Condor (secret identity Senator Thomas Wright) has been serving as the Official Superhero of Balladeer’s Blog. I gave him that designation because of the sheer weirdness of his origin and the hilariously stupid secret behind his alter ego Senator Wright. Here’s another bit where I caption one of the covers from the Black Condor’s adventures in the appropriately named Crack Comics. For my original look at this hero’s goofiness click here: https://glitternight.com/2013/03/11/the-black-condor-the-official-superhero-of-balladeers-blog/

BLACK CONDOR CAPTIONING FUN

Recently I made the 1940’s superhero the Black Condor the Official Superhero of Balladeer’s Blog because of his sheer goofiness. As a followup I’ll be providing mock captions for various Black Condor covers.

BLACK CONDOR: Make a wish before one of your arms gets torn off, you bastard! There will be NO climbing across laundry lines on MY watch!

THE BLACK CONDOR: THE OFFICIAL SUPERHERO OF BALLADEER’S BLOG

Black CondorRegular readers of Balladeer’s Blog know that words like eccentric, oddball, offbeat, weird and damn crazy come to mind when describing me. So, that being the case the most appropriate superhero mascot for this site is the Black Condor.

That’s the Golden Age Black Condor, who debuted in 1940 and is now in the public domain, not the newer comic book characters going by that name. The original Black Condor appeals to me in the same way that bad movies do. Here are the six reasons why this figure has long been my favorite weirdass Golden Age superhero: Continue reading
