COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS FROM FEBRUARY 1st
COUGARS PREVAIL AT HOME – The UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS COUGARS welcomed the BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY BEAVERS yesterday. The Cougars were beating up on the Beavers in the First Half and led by a score of 41-29 at Halftime but the Second Half became a different story. Bemidji State came roaring back (do beavers roar?) and actually outscored the homestanding USF in the Second Half but the Cougars held on to win by a final score of 87-78.
FRESNO PACIFIC WITH THE UPSET – The FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY SUNBIRDS upset the HOLY NAMES UNIVERSITY HAWKS and did it on the road no less! TALHAE – Also called Tarhae. The wife of King Hamdalpa of Wan-Ha in Yongsong had been married to him for seven years but had yet to produce an heir to the throne. She prayed to the gods for a child and at length she produced a large egg, from which a handsome boy named Talhae emerged.
King Hamdalpa’s advisors told him a child born unnaturally from an egg was a bad omen and that he should get rid of the child. Hamdalpa had the boy placed in a large floating chest along with seven treasures plus a male and female slave. A red dragon arose from the sea to guard the chest, a red dragon sent by a dragon god who was Talhae’s real father. The chest floated at sea for seven days, during which time Talhae grew to adulthood and stood a full nine feet tall.

DUST DEVILS SMOKE THE PATRIOTS – The TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY DUST DEVILS took it on the road yesterday against the DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY PATRIOTS and defended their top spot in the Heartland Conference.
The Dust Devils were very much in control throughout the entire game and converted a 41-34 Halftime lead into a 90-71 victory by the time all was said and done. TAMIU improves to 15-4 for the season, 8-1 in Heartland Conference play. The Patriots fall to 6-10 overall, 3-6 in conference play.
HELLO, NEWMAN! – Staying in the Heartland Conference for the moment the NEWMAN UNIVERSITY JETS played host to the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS OF THE PERMIAN BASIN FALCONS. None of these schlockumentaries are very convincing about their subject matter but this flick is so outrageously inept that not even the Ancient Aliens team would be suckered in by it … maybe.
