Illinois Tech Scarlet HawksDAY TWO – GAME ONE – The top seeds – the ILLINOIS TECH SCARLET HAWKS – faced the 5th seeded NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS in this game. The Scarlet Hawks seized a 1-0 lead in the 1st Inning which became a 3-0 lead in the 3rd. After that the only run scored was by the Builders in the top of the 6th Inning as Illinois Tech won the game 3-1. Kyle Bumpass was the winning Pitcher. Continue reading

POSTSEASON COLLEGE BASEBALL CONTINUES

Northwestern Ohio RacersSANTA CLARITA REGION: DAY TWO – The 2 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS – started the day against the 5th seeded CAL STATE- SAN MARCOS COUGARS by overcoming a 3-0 deficit in the 3rd Inning to tie the game at 3-3 in the 4th, then winning the game 4-3 in the TWELFTH Inning! Ryan Carter got the win.     ###      Up next the 4th seeded VANGUARD UNIVERSITY LIONS converted a 6-2 lead in the 1st Inning into an 8-2 victory over the 2nd seeded UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA THUNDERBIRDS. Jordan Moak was the winning Pitcher.     ###      And the (2) UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS finished the day by eliminating the top seeded MASTER’S COLLEGE MUSTANGS by a score of 6-3. COLLEGE BASEBALL NAIA PLAYOFFS UNDERWAY WHILE NJCAA PLAYOFFS CONTINUE

Mayville State Comets SQUAREBELLEVUE REGION: DAY ONE – After 3 scoreless Innings the 5th seeded MAYVILLE STATE COMETS took a 2-1 lead over the 4th seeded MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS in the 4th. Tyler Leibert pitched the Comets to a 6-1 victory.     ###      Next the 2 seeds – the BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY BRUINS – trailed the 3rd seeded WILLIAM WOODS UNIVERSITY OWLS 2-0 from the 3rd Inning on until their bats got hot in the 9th for a 3-2 win. Steve Sarcone was the winning Pitcher.     ###      And the top seeded TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS converted a 2-0 1st Inning lead into an 8-0 shutout of (5) Mayville State. Yavapai College Roughriders BETTERREGION 101 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Cochise Baseball Field in Sierra Vista, AZ was the site of this clash for the Region 101 crown. The YAVAPAI COLLEGE ROUGHRIDERS took on the COCHISE COLLEGE APACHES in a game that ended in a score that put spectators in mind of a polo match. The 4 seeds – the SCOTTSDALE COLLEGE FIGHTING ARTICHOKES (Yes, really) took on the 3rd seeded PHOENIX COLLEGE BEARS. The Fighting Artichokes moved on to the National Tournament by winning this game with comparative ease. MORE COLLEGE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT RESULTS

NORTH STAR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

Mayville State Comets BIGCHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – The top seeded MAYVILLE STATE COMETS had to face the Cinderella 6 seeds – the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS – for the NSAA Championship. The Comets were undefeated in tournament play, so even though the Blue Hawks surprised them in Game One by crushing them 10-1 all that did was force a decisive second game. In Game Two Mayville State converted a 1-0 1st Inning lead into a 3-1 edge in the 3rd and 7-1 in the 7th on their way to an 8-1 victory. lindsey wilson blue raidersCHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This was a clash between the 3 seeds – the LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS – and the 2nd seeded SAINT CATHARINE COLLEGE PATRIOTS. The game was scoreless through 6 Innings before the Blue Raiders notched a run in the top of the 7th. Each team put up 3 runs in the 8th, setting up the 4-3 victory for Lindsey Wilson College. georgia gwinnettROUND ONE – GAME ONE – The top seeded GEORGIA GWINNETT COLLEGE GRIZZLIES faced the 6th seeded ASHFORD UNIVERSITY SAINTS. After 3 scoreless Innings the Grizzlies made it a 1-0 game in the 4th, then exploded for 5 more runs in the 5th and 8th. For their part the Saints could only muster 1 run each in the 6th and 9th Innings. Georgia Gwinnett College won by a score of ELEVEN to TWO. GULF COAST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

Talladega College Tornadoes NEWCHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 2 seeds – the TALLADEGA COLLEGE TORNADOES – tangled with the top seeded EDWARD WATERS COLLEGE TIGERS in this title game. The contest was scoreless until the 8th Inning when the Tornadoes took a 3-0 lead and followed that up with another run in the 9th for a 4-0 victory.
