UNITED STATES COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP – The fourth and final day of the 2016 USCAA World Series found the top seeded COLLEGE OF SAINT JOSEPH’S (sic) FIGHTING SAINTS, who had already advanced to the title game, waiting for their opponents. Those opponents would be the winners of the early game between the 3rd seeded UC-CLERMONT COUGARS and the 2nd seeded ROCHESTER COLLEGE WARRIORS.
DAY THREE: GAME ONE – The 3rd seeded UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI AT CLERMONT COUGARS went to bat against the 7th seeded PSU-DUBOIS LIONS in this game. The Cougars shut out the Lions while putting up runs for themselves in the 1st, 2nd and 6th Innings to eliminate PSU-Dubois by a score of 4-0. Pitcher Grant Christman got the Win for UC-Clermont.
DAY ONE: GAME ONE – To start things off the 8 seeds – the CLEARY UNIVERSITY PROWLING COUGARS – took on the 9th seeded PSU-BEAVER NITTANY LIONS. A 3-3 tie in the 2nd Inning became a 4-3 edge for the Prowling Cougars in the 3rd and ultimately a 7-6 win for Cleary University. Pitcher Jack Ropp of the Prowling Cougars picked up the win.
RED RIVER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE: CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The 3 seeds – the LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) – had already moved on to the Championship Game. Their opponent wound up being the top seeded LSU-ALEXANDRIA GENERALS, who defeated the 4th seeded JARVIS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS 6-1 in the early game. In the Main Event the Pilots folded, spindled and mutilated the Generals, spanking them ELEVEN to ONE! * THE PILOTS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE 2016 RRAC TOURNAMENT *
NORTH STAR ATHLETIC ASSO-CIATION ROUND TWO – The 7 seeds – the VITERBO UNIVERSITY V-HAWKS – eliminated the 3rd seeded DAKOTA STATE TROJANS in a 7-4 upset ### The 6th seeded MAYVILLE STATE COMETS toppled the 2 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES – in a thrilling 3-2 affair ### The Jimmies then stayed alive in the night game by eliminating the aforementioned V-Hawks by a score of 7-5. ###
THE SUN CONFERENCE – ROUND ONE – The top seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA AT BEAUFORT SAND SHARKS – won an 8-7 thriller against the 6th seeded WARNER UNIVERSITY ROYALS ### Meanwhile the 5th seeded SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE clobbered the 2nd seeded SAINT THOMAS UNIVERSITY BOBCATS in an 11-6 upset ### And the 4 seeds – the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS – devastated the 3rd seeded WEBBER INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WARRIORS 15-4.
SOONER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – ROUND ONE – The 2 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS – roped and branded the 7th seeded SAINT GREGORY’S UNIVERSITY CAVALIERS to the tune of 14-4 ### Next the (6) MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EVANGELS upset the (3) SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES 14-7, then the Eagles eliminated the Cavaliers 16-6 in the night game ###
KENTUCKY INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – ROUND TWO – The top seeded INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS, fresh off their Round One pummeling of Brescia, squeezed out a 2-1 victory over the 3rd seeded POINT PARK UNIVERSITY PIONEERS ### Meanwhile the 4 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE (OH) RED STORM – toppled the 2nd seeded WEST VIRGINIA TECH GOLDEN BEARS 10-1 ### And the 6th seeded BRESCIA UNIVERSITY BEARCATS upset the 5th seeded ASBURY UNIVERSITY EAGLES in a 9-7 thriller.
